Lead DevSecOps Engineer at Old Mutual

The Role

The DevOps Engineer oversees and leads the activities of the DevOps and Automation department. This role requires an individual that has an in-depth understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle and has the outright understanding of various automation tools for developing digital continuous delivery and release pipelines. Job entails establishing and maintaining secure coding CD pipeline standards and policies, working closely with developers and the IT staff to enable high-velocity, high-quality, and highly secure releases.

• Define and implement CI/CD pipeline automation and development automation, meeting all the Enterprise polices, including Development, Security, Operations, Development, Change, and Release
• Consult and guide with the alignment to Enterprise Release Management on:
  • Governance,
  • Processes and practices,
  • Tools and technologies
• Collaborate with others to troubleshoot and brainstorm new patterns to resolve complex technological infrastructure, security, development, or delivery problems
• Update and define SDLC patterns, policies, and standards to prevent issues leaked into Production
• Ensure automated quality and release gates are implemented
• Performs incremental testing actions on code, processes, and deployments to identify ways to streamline execution and minimize errors encountered.

  • incorporating automated functional and security integration tests and analysing results
• Improve the process of moving working software into production across the different teams
• Enable the increased frequent of releases to meet the business objectives and challenges
• Analyse current technology utilized within the company and develop steps and processes to improve and expand upon them
• Build and set up of new development tools and infrastructure
• Mentor and train other engineers throughout the company and seek to continually improve processes companywide
• Work alongside risk and security teams to successfully monitor progress and implementation of initiatives
• Work alongside project management teams to successfully monitor progress and implementation of initiatives
• Perform Audits and gap analysis on processes and communicate the findings to team

Education, Skills and Experience

• BSc Computer Science / Diploma.
• Minimum 4 years hands on DevOps experience
• Minimum 2 years development experience
