    Assembler - W2

    The Role

    To manage general operations within the region to drive profitability, grow sales, manage accounts, and manage customer relations.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Manage and control the sales and accounts of customers serviced in the region
    • Produce, implement, and maintain area business plans for current and future business growth
    • Provide high levels of customer service
    • Manage all stakeholder engagements
    • Liaise with customers on all operational issues
    • Achieve and maintain sales targets through forecasting, monitoring, and controlling expenditure, and monitoring profit margins.
    • Develop and implement a marketing strategy for the area
    • Manage and control the branch including the stores/warehouse
    • Organize employees and build teams to optimise business performance.
    • Take reasonable care for own and that of your team’s health and safety in the workplace.

    Profile required:

    • National Diploma in Marketing or Sales or Business Management or Mining Engineering.
    • Degree in Marketing or Sales or Business Management or Mining Engineering would be advantageous.
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the mining sales environment, of which 2 years is at a supervisory or management level.
    • Experience in rock tools, crushing & screening, and parts & services for the surface/quarrying industry is required.
    • Knowledge of Sandvik products and/or services and their applications will be an added advantage
    • High sense of identifying and delivering value.
    • Goal driven and have a track record of achieving those great results through teamwork and collaboration.
    • Medical and physical ability to work in a mine environment
    • Valid drivers’ license

    Contract Manager - M2


    The Role

    The incumbent will responsible for compliance management of a performance maintenance contract on heavy underground mining machinery. You will be required to develop and build strong business relationship with all stakeholders - clients and employees. You will be responsible for financial forecasting and budgets. Your role will be to implement Sandvik people strategy in relation to annual plans, requirements and with a strong EHS – Safety first, perspective and approach.

    This role is based in Mafube Mine.

    Key responsibilities

    • Plan, prioritize, and schedule the team’s activities so that resources are used effectively, and that work schedules and targets are met.
    • Monitor the status of contract activities to identify problem areas and adapt procedures to improve the overall performance of the team.
    • Liaise with functional or operational area managers (for example in sales, marketing, finance, supply and logistics) to ensure that contract activities are integrated with other parts of the business.
    • Ensure effective revenue and profitability of contract.
    • To take responsible approach to health, safety and environment risks in relation to your own job and that of your team and to control the risks or report them to management accordingly.

    Profile required

    • Grade 12 / Matric
    • Technical or Mechanical trade certificate
    • Diploma or Degree in Commercial Contract Administration/Management/Business (advantageous)
    • At least 2 years Commercial Contract Administration/Management experience, preferably in mining or industrial sectors
    • At least 5 years Management or Supervisory experience in a similar environment
    • Competence in Microsoft Office with special reference to Excel/spreadsheets
    • Attention to detail and the ability to work logically, consistently, and accurately
    • Self-motivated and excellent time management skills
    • Ability to work independently
    • Strong leadership
    • Strong financial background
    • Strong Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) focus
    • Must have a valid drivers’ license

    Production Unit Technician - S3

    The Role

    Responsible for electrical components pre assembly, machine electrical assembly during machine build ,inspecting and testing of newly built machines in accordance with the relevant specifications and adhering to safety and quality standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Build machines in accordance with the build plan.
    • Pre-Assembling and testing of Electro-hydraulics, hydraulics, and pneumatics components.
    • Pre assembly and testing of electrical and flame proof components.
    • Assembling ,testing and commissioning of Sandvik hard rock and soft rock machines.
    • Follow up on outstanding parts availability on Lean systems.
    • Ensure work areas are maintain in accordance to Production standards.
    • Maintains process designs to optimize process and facility use while conforming to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and good manufacturing practices (GMPs)
    • Comply with Sandvik SHEQ management system and the Objectives and Targets set
    • Complete work orders and give feedback to the foreman.
    • Report all deviations and/or damages
    • Keep a good maintenance of P.P.E. and use it as prescribed.

    Profile Required

    • Must Be a trade tested and qualified electrician or millwright with a flame proof certificate.
    • Must have 3 to 5 years’ experience in machine manufacturing .
    • Must have experience in Sandvik hard rock and soft rock loaders .
    • Must have Knowledge of electro-hydraulics ,hydraulics, pneumatics , electrical systems and schematic reading.
    • Excellent troubleshooting ability with strong diagnostic ,problem solving and root cause analysis skills.
    • A safety champion capable of working alone or with a team and capable of stopping work, if required.
    • Creative, adaptable to changes, good attitude in learning .
    • Continuously drives self - improvements and improvement of others.
    • Good English language level both written and verbal .
    • IT skills (Windows, Office 365 apps, e.g. Excel, Word, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, etc.)
    • Physically & Medically able to function in a workshop environment.
