    Paint Expert

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    • To coordinate the activities linked to the special process of Painting during the phases of tender, development (concurrent engineering phase), production till the warranty phase.

    PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT

    • No of qualified operators Vs. needs.
    • Definition on time of specific Painting system for each project;
    • IRIS/APSYS implementation.
    • To support Supplier Audit regarding to painting process;
    • To plan and support painting audits on the workstations.

    Responsibilities

    • To participate during the tender and the Concurrent Engineering phases integrating the Industrial
    • constraints and rules in order to mitigate risks and optimize costs;
    • To perform the contract review, in terms of impact on painting activities, for all new projects.
    • To support the painting technical specification for each project.
    • To realize the painting instruction sheets for each projects.
    • To issue and to update, as necessary, the procedures and technical instructions related to the application
    • of the riveting process in production;
    • To guarantee the Industrial objectives in terms of QCD and EHS.
    • To follow up the validation of the tools/equipment with Supplier and Production.
    • To support the continuous improvement in the Workshop proposing new products/tools/jigs and
    • operating process.
    • To assure or validate the training and the qualification of the operators following special process rules of the site.
    • To propose, in case of non-Conformity, anomaly, incident, a recovery solution;
    • To drive the Quality System regarding to the management of painting as special process;
    • To assure the qualification of Painting process of each project in SAV Site;
    • Benchmark with the other Sites and painting specialist network
    • To promote products implementation with “zero EHS impact”;

    Inventory specialist

    Purpose of the Job

    Responsible for coordinating and controlling all activities, people, assets, technology and documentation related to the Inventory management activities within the warehouse operation and general housekeeping of warehousing areas. The Inventory Specialist is responsible for the for cycle counting KPI and Investigation of RCA. The position reports to the Inventory Supervisor.

    Key responsibilities include the following:

    • Coordinate and control cycle count programs and ensure consistency and accuracy in same and identify all operational problems in inventory.
    • Coordinate and maintain records of all variances according to establish procedures and ensure accuracy of all product transfers from one facility to other.
    • Ensure Root causes caused by late TO confirmations are visible so to be addressed.
    • Coordinate and monitor all procurement requests of facilities and ensure accuracy in all inbound inventory and maintain records for same.
    • Provide training to staff about inventory processes and adjustments if required.
    • Recommend material master updates and improvements.
    • Ensure that only authorised persons are allowed in the area.
    • Ensure that all documentation is secured and filed the same day.
    • Adhere to relevant warehouse and inventory management policies, processes, procedures and Optimise inventory to attain set inventory targets whilst minimizing stock-outs.
    • Continually review and analyze inventory movements and stock holding configurations.
    • Oversee inventory related master data creation and maintenance which includes amongst other things the creation, update and deletion of material and service masters, item classification MRP settings (MRP type, lot size, re-order points, lead times etc.) to ensure accuracy and relevance.
    • Manage stock counting team to ensure effective stock counting and reconciliation processes to ensure data integrity in the SAP system.
    • Plan and oversee stock counts (cycle and annual) to ensure accurate inventory levels are maintained at all times;
    • Responsible for stock variance investigations and motivation of stock adjustments.
    • Ensure adequate controls are in place to minimize stock variances.
    • Storage, Transportation and Housekeeping
    • Ensure compliance with safe storage and stacking procedures as well as legal and statutory regulations while stored, loading, off-loading or in transit areas.
    • Ensure that items are transported in a safe manner to relevant storage locations/plants and that material safety data sheets (MSDS) are available when transporting hazardous materials.
    • Take responsibility for the security of the building, stock, warehouse equipment and people;
    • Ensure that all physical controls, such as that, gates are kept closed, access to storage areas are controlled etc, are adhered to.
    • Adhere to relevant vehicle and materials handling policies and procedures.
    • Work with the Logistics, Procurement, Production, planning other stakeholders to ensure the end to-end effective and efficient functioning of the inventory management

    Requirements:

    • Grade 12
    • Code 8 drivers and forklift licenses.
    • Professional experience (1 - 2 years) in warehousing & inventory;
    • Diploma, preferably in logistics and/or materials management.
    • A relevant combination of formal (Supply Chain related) qualifications and additional specialized studies.
    • Membership of relevant professional body e.g. SAPICS, CIPS.
    • In depth knowledge of and experience in Production, inventory and warehouse management best practice principles;
    • Experience in coordinating teams;
    • Relevant ERP system experience, preferably SAP Materials Management.

    Head of Site Quality

    Purpose of the job:

    Site quality director manages the Site Quality Teams in order to ensure the deliveries from the Site are at the right quality level.  He/She cascades & implements the Site objectives within the Quality organisation and implements quality policy & tools at Site level.

    Accountabilities & Authorities:

    Quality Action Plan:

    • Develop Quality Culture & Right First Time Approach.
    • Ensure consistency of Quality Cost Delivery objectives and the contractual/regulatory obligations applicable to the projects. 
    • Drives continuous improvement plans to analyze and reduce the Cost Of Non Quality, Non-Conforming Report, Safety issues and Demerit

    Quality embedded in operations:

    • Deploy Quality Policy within the management committee of the Site,
    • Responsible for Quality and Safety assessment of the products & services delivered, according to the contractual quality requirements.
    • Increase Customer satisfaction through periodic meetings, Customers Surveys, product delivery controls,
    • Manage and escalate Top issues impacting safety and customer
    • Ensure that Design for Quality Gate Reviews and Suppliers First Article Inspection are done in time, including waiver when required

    Quality Resources Management:

    • Lead, Manage and develop Quality teams, using quality school, expertise, and APSYS.
    • Deploy standard tools and indicators, and contribute to their improvement

    QMS and Process management:

    • Ensure Process governance, Risk and Opportunity management with site interested parties.
    • Evaluate by Internal Audits the quality performance in each process.
    • Ensure the right update about the Quality (Quality Management Systems) Reference documents, using Return of Experiance process. 
    • Ensure site Quality Management Systems conformance against Alstom standards, Customer standards and ISO9001/IRIS requirements/CMMI/ECM.

    Performance measurements:

    • Standard Quality KPI (Demerit, Cost Of Non Quality, First Article Inspection, Design For Quality, Go on Time, K1, K2, K3…)
    • APSYS score, Internal & External Audits results
    • Customer satisfaction, through Customer audits & yearly sites evaluation

    Job Location / Mobility:

    Educational Requirements  

    Mandatory:

    • Master degree in either Engineering , General Management, or Quality management

    Desirable:

    • Knowledge of railway industry (norms, certifications…) would be an asset

    Experience  

    Mandatory:

    • 10 years of experience Quality, project and operation.
    • Extensive Experience in managing Quality tools and problem-solving tools.

    Desirable:

    • Extensive Senior management experience, with preferably good knowledge of all type of products.

    Paint Operator - Motors (Semi-Skilled)

    The successful candidate will be based in Dunnottar, Nigel. The purpose of the role is the painting of the rotor, as well as supporting with the loading and cleaning (resin) of the completed stator frame windings between the VPI (Vacuum & Pressure Impregnation) and the various drying ovens.

    Reporting to the EPU Manager / Group Leader / Production Team Leader

    Responsibilities:

    • Mixing solvents and paints according to the described ratio
    • Masking and painting the rotor
    • Loading and unloading the rotor into paint booth
    • Cleaning equipment after use and tidying area in accordance with 5S
    • Performing equipment and tooling self-inspections (blocked filters / nozzles etc.)
    • Checking drying times of the product, according to the VPI special process
    • Loading and unloading the wound stator in the various ovens and VPI according to these drying times
    • Cleaning excess resin from the product and Sorting of waste
    • Adhering to continuous improvement processes and teamwork
    • Complying with all safety rules & regulations.
    • Detecting, anticipating and reporting minor manufacturing anomalies, as well as more complex defects

    Requirements:

    • Grade 12 or N3 Certificate?
    • Relevant experience within a manufacturing and/or similar environment
    • Previous experience mixing and preparing the paint for application
    • Good knowledge of painting, resin, hot product handling and lifting hazards
    • Able to operate, start and stop the drying / curing ovens
    • Read and interpret technical documents (work instructions, safety instructions, etc.)
    • Able to operate hand power tools, slings, drilling machines, grinders and other hand tools related to the job requirement
    • Have appropriate knowledge of water base paint and solvents base paint
    • Appropriate knowledge on paint equipment settings and controls
    • Understanding of paint defects and rectifications thereof
    • Understand cleaning, masking and preparing paint surfaces
    • Able to use the crane for assembly operations and move the product with pallet trucks
