    Specialist Purchasing - Johannesburg

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    • This role is a permanent full-time position.
    • As a specialist purchasing, you will be responsible for advising and executing Purchasing activities ensuring effective resource utilization meeting operational procurement needs in a timely and effective manner adhering to defined policies and procedures.

    Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

    • Ensure operational procurement needs are met in a timely and effective manner in accordance with South32 policies, procedures and statutory requirements;
    • Create and maintain accurate Request for Quotations (RFQs) ensuring timely responses from vendors;
    • Negotiate pricing to ensure value for money paid taking a “total cost of ownership” approach
    • Ensure all purchase requisitions are compliant with South32 Supply processes and procedures, communicating in a timely fashion any discrepancies and non-compliances with end users for actioning;
    • Convert approved Purchase Requisitions into PO’s in line with business expectations
    • Ensure all purchase order adjustments are carried out in accordance with South32 Supply processes and procedures and immediately report all non-compliant transactions to the Manager Purchasing
    • Manage all workflow in the purchasing queue in a timely manner
    • Actively manage open Purchase Orders in accordance with the South32 process
    • Expediting of urgent and overdue orders as required
    • Support payment services team with vendor transactional purchasing queries and GR/IR resolution
    • Monitors expectations, understanding and application of Supply Purchasing processes within the team to support compliance with local requirements
    • Support Purchasing Team with e-Business and Process Automation objectives and systems

    ABOUT YOU:

    You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

    • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Commercial/ Supply environment;
    • Mining and Metals will be preferred;
    • In-depth knowledge of SAP Supply Systems/Procure to Pay processes;

    Qualifications for this role are:

    •  Bachelors Degree Commerce/Finance/Logistics/Supply Chain

    Specialist Local Sourcing - Johannesburg

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    • This role is a permanent full-time position.  
    • As a specialist local sourcing, you will be responsible for providingspecialist advice and executes Category Management activities in line with specified guidelines and business requirements to confirm surety of supply and minimum Supply risk .

    Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

    • Applies Category Management & Purchasing processes in alignment to design intent, local operating procedures, audit & Group Level obligations;
    • Develops effective relationships with internal business leaders to understand business requirements, to forecast demand, and verify established contracts are effective;
    • Develops local category strategies that minimise supply risk to the business, optimise cost and contribute to process automation;

    • Executes local category strategies and contract coverage to support Maintenance Strategies, 2-year budget and 5 year execution plans;
    • Executes   activities   that   contribute   to   the   Local Procurement Plan;

    • Leads negotiations with Suppliers, Reviews contract award recommendations, Reviews contracts for approval;
    • Monitors the portfolio of suppliers supporting the business ensuring optimal usage & performance against business expectations;
    • Owns Executes Sourcing Strategy and Plan, Complies with Supply processes, Owns local Supplier Performance Management.

    ABOUT YOU:

    You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

    • Must have a minimum of 3 to 5 years relevant experience in a commercial or Supply environment;
    • Sound understanding of financial and business concepts to analyse and maximize commercial contracting outcomes.

    Qualifications for this role are:

    • Degree in Commerce/Finance/Logistics/Supply Chain.
