    Projects Manager - Logistics

    As a Project Manager - Logistics you will be responsible for:.

    • Collect official timber orders from line managers and proactively compile sales plan on procurement supplies in line with the mill demands and according to budget and forecast
    • Capture orders on Timber Control System (TCS) in line with the sales plan in order to warrant mills, transporters and suppliers’ alignment    
    • Monitor and control major suppliers’ performance versus order by means of the daily, weekly and TCS reports to ensure rateably timber deliveries and order adjustments where necessary.
    • Communicate stock levels, production performance and turnaround times (TAT) daily through the respective communication channels to align daily deliveries.
    • Keep a record of rejects, analyse trends and institute corrective and preventative actions to minimise timber losses, reduce turnaround times and minimise disruptions at the mill.
    • Carry out site visitations to assess sidings and depot stocks to ensure rateable and within-specification timber supply. 
    • Compile weekly and monthly forecasts in line with quarterly forecast and annual budget plan to monitor the rate and cost of delivery.  
    • Report on critical timber supplies and deliveries and ensure this is communicated to the Resources Manager, Project Managers and Hauliers which might lead to the review of the delivery plans.
    • Handle all source key requests from major suppliers in line with the chain of custody (CoC) requirements to guarantee compliance.
    • Assist with internal audits by supplying required information for quality assurance and conformance with the chain of custody (CoC).
    • Ensure and/or assist with the booking of online slots for timber supply into various markets in order to align deliveries with sales plan.
    • Ensure strong working relationships are built through continuous visitation and technical advice to promote Sappi as a market and/or supplier of choice.
    • Co-ordinate with all stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation of all forestry 

    What are we looking for?

    • National Diploma in Forestry or related qualification
    • A Logistics and/or Transport Management qualification will be advantageous.
    • At least 5 years of experience in logistics, forestry management and/or timber procurement

    Temporary Reliever Recovery

    As Temporary Reliever Recovery, you will be responsible to:

    • Take and hand over shift. 
    • Operate process/equipment according to best operating practices. 
    • Complete section specific interventions/initiatives as planned and agreed for all the identified positions for the specific section. 
    • Relieves operators and carries out all tasks prescribed for these positions. 
    • Assists the Foreman/Operating Staff at breakdowns and in the supervision of staff when necessary. 
    • Ensure accurate reporting by recording all incidents in the shift log book. 
    • Reports all breakdowns, faulty equipment to Foreman. 
    • Attend progress meetings with the section training representative, line supervisor and/or mentor, coach and act on any remedial action and/or additional requirements. 
    • Participates in shift activities (5 why problem-solving etc). 
    • Understand the SHEQ requirements of the job. 
    • Identify and take corrective action in terms of SHEQ conditions and hazards. 
    • Comply with all relevant SHEQ requirements. 
    • Maintains a high level of good housekeeping in the workplace at all times. 

    Required Minimum Qualifications: 

    • Matriculation with Mathematics and Physical Science or N3 Pulp and Paper.
    • 0-3 months of experience as a Process Trainee or Production Intern.

    Senior Process Engineer Projects

    As a Senior Process Engineer - Projects, you will:

    • Stay informed on cutting-edge process engineering technologies,
    • Identify opportunities to reduce costs and enhance production in mill processes,
    • Craft detailed business cases for medium to complex strategic projects,
    • Collaborate on strategic capital plans with our regional head office,
    • Lead pre-feasibility studies, ensuring thorough documentation and validation,
    • Facilitate workshops to consolidate and approve detailed process scope documents for projects,
    • Coordinate project designs for seamless integration across plant areas, addressing any design shortcomings,
    • Ensure all process designs meet environmental standards and proactively address legislative changes,
    • Scoping, business case development,
    • Project design and management,
    • Define the standards for project process documentation,
    • Risk management and environmental control,
    • Driving process change.

    Required Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree BEng / BSc / BTech in Chemical Engineering,
    • 5-8 years of process experience in Manufacturing and/or Project environments,
    • Demonstrated success in process development and executing projects from start to finish,
    • Experience in pulp and paper industry preferred,
    • Professional registration with ECSA beneficial.

    Clerk Grootgeluk

    As an Plantation Clerk, you will be responsible for:

    • Perform audit checks on District Clerks ensuring compliance with petty cash, finance and administration in line with Sappi procedure.
    • Perform regular checks on Diesel bowser at plantations.
    • Ensure Plantation Clerks comply with maintaining an effective office administrative system.
    • Provide back-up for District Clerks with regard to rainfall stats, fires and capture accordingly.
    • Perform District Clerk duties: petty cash, administration, SAP, firewood sales permits, generate requisitions and issue purchase orders.
    • Provide typing, photocopying, filing and e-mailing support. 
    • Arrange meetings, seminars & conferences as and when required
    • Consolidate weekly and monthly reports.
    • Administer the Area Managers action log system and assist with follow-up and close-out.
    • Ensure that credit card expense claims are processed timeously.
    • Ensure that catering for office meetings and functions is effectively organised.
    • Ensure that the administration and payment of travel arrangements is handled in line with the company travel policy.
    • Complete all Request for proposals on e-cams for the Area.

    What are we looking for?

    • Grade 12.
    • An Admin/Secretarial related qualification preferable. 
    • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience. 
    • Strong computer literacy (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
    • SAP knowledge an advantage.
    • Valid Code EB Drivers license.

    Artisan Assistant

    As an Artisan Assistant you will be responsible for:

    • Assisting Artisans as and when required.

    Process Engineer - Stanger

    As a Process Engineer, you will be responsible for:

    • Processing development and optimisation.
    • Managing projects from inception to implementation including commissioning of new equipment.
    • Updating, publish and communicate process flow diagrams, process and instrumentation diagrams, functional design specifications and mass and energy balances.
    • Updating product specifications for the area and communicate to plant personnel.
    • Reviewing start-up and shut down procedures, best operating practices, and training manuals.
    • High level trouble shooting.
    • Root cause failure analysising and close outs.
    • Developing high level process designs. 
    • Carrying out and participate in feasibility studies. 
    • Leading design review meetings and conduct peer reviews of new designs.

    What are we looking for?

    • BSc Chemical Engineering Degree.
    • At least 5 years’ experience as a Process Engineer in a manufacturing / heavy industry environment.
    • Experience in the Pulp & Paper industry would be an advantage.
    • Registration as a Professional Engineer is an added advantage.
    • SAP experience preferred.
