    Forklift Driver - Grain Field Chickens Abattoir , Reitz

    Job Description

    • To engage in operating a power-driven mobile hoist or fork-lift with a lifting capacity exceeding 6 000 kg used in the loading, unloading, moving or stacking of goods and/ or pallets, but does not include an internal motor vehicle in alignment with predefined work objectives (as per agreed standard operating procedures). 

    Job requirements

    • Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 Equivalent.
    • Forklift Licence is required.
    • A clear criminal record is a must.
    • At least 1 year experience as Forklift driver in a similar environment.
    • Position is based in a fast-paced plant manufacturing/ warehouse setting.
    • Exposed to loud noise, moving machinery and production equipment.
    • Exposed to extreme temperatures and dust.
    • Must be able and willing to work overtime including shifts and weekends when required.

    Duties and responsibilities

    • Conduct daily forklift inspections and follow safe forklift operating procedures.
    • Pre-inspection of forklift and completion of forklift checklist before start of shift.

    • Operate forklift to assist team members in picking, staging, loading, unloading, rotation, and storage of product.
    • Assist to repack sales orders and loading orders.
    • Immediately report all damage and shrinkage as per Company Policy.

    Employee Liaison Coordinator - VKB Agri-Processors, Reitz

    Job Description

    • The Employee Liaison coordinator will be responsible for fostering a positive work environment by maintaining a healthy relationship between the employer and operational employees at Grain Field Chickens Abattoir and Q-Pro Feeds (subsidiaries of VKB Group). This role entails risk identification, problem solving through effective worker forums, and ensuring employees' opinions are acknowledged and acted upon promptly.

    The successful candidate will be based at the GFC Head Office in Reitz.

     Qualifications required

     Experience

    Key Responsibilities

    • Employee Advocacy: Serve as the ambassador and voice for operational employees, ensuring that their concerns and opinions are acknowledged and addressed timeously.
    • Communication and Recognition: Establish and maintain effective communication lines for worker forums and create platforms for acknowledging employee contributions.
    • Meeting Facilitation: Schedule, facilitate, and document collaboration meetings between employees and management, as well as worker forum meetings with representatives, on a continuous basis.
    • Representative Management: Continuously evaluate worker forum representatives, facilitate the nomination and election of new representatives as needed.
    • Feedback Coordination: Schedule, coordinate, and document feedback meetings with Human Capital managers regarding issues arising from worker forums.
    • Stakeholder Engagement: Actively engage with relevant stakeholders to address issues and provide feedback to forum representatives on outcomes.
    • Wage Negotiation: Coordinate wage negotiation input and feedback between worker forums and the employer.
    • Dispute Support: Support employees during disputes and disciplinary enquiries, assigning worker forum representatives as necessary.
    • Reporting: Provide progress reports to the Employee Development Associate and Employee Experience team, aligning with the reporting structure of this position.

    About the Role:

    • The role is established in the Governance, Risk and Compliance department of the VKB Information and Technology department as part of the Quality Assurance Team. The Quality Assurance Graduate will report to the Quality Assurance Lead and ultimately to the I&T Manager: Governance Risk and Compliance.
    • The QA Graduate will be responsible to work with the Quality Assurance (QA) Team to deliver high-quality software solutions in line with pre-determined standards to the relevant product owners. As part of the QA process, activities will include designing and executing of manual and automated testing procedures in accordance with the QA framework and best practice principles.

    QA Graduate is regarded as the entry-level positions in the QA department and is a fixed term contract position of 12 months.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Familiarize and understand the requirements of the Software Quality Assurance Methodology, Framework and Team Guidelines.
    • Execute Business As Usual (BAU) and project testing activities in line with the Quality Assurance Methodology and Framework.
