    Brand Manager: Rice

    THE JOB AT A GLANCE

    As a Brand Manager you will report into a Marketing Manager or Marketing Director. You execute brand plans while trying to achieve sustainable, profitable growth for your brand. You will achieve this by leveraging consumer and shopper insights to craft brand/s that consumers love, and by executing compelling brand plans that are delivered through exceptional brand experiences in terms of innovation, communication and activation. On a daily basis this involves articulating and delivering the full marketing mix for your brand. You will work with the Marketing centres of excellence, leveraging their expertise to optimise pricing, promotions, product innovation, packaging and marketing mix.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    • Translate marketing insights and analysis of key issues and opportunities into 
      clear & compelling Brand Plans - detailing execution of Category Strategy, Pricing & Channel Strategy, Promotions Plan and Innovation Plan to deliver agreed 
      growth agenda (volume, value, profit)
    • Identify, define, develop, deliver & track insight-driven innovation and renovation that is accretive to the brand and category (volume, value, profit). This includes defining the product & packaging solution, for customer team the trade solution, and for consumers compelling communication
    • Partner with the Consumer Insights team to generate brand-relevant insights from all touch-points; including market & internal analytics, competitive intelligence, consumer behaviour, trend data and other appropriate sources
    • Lead creative agency through the Communication Strategy process for your
      brand(s), culminating in the deliver of a Communication Strategy sign off and campaign judging and sign off of above-the-line and below-the-line campaigns vs the agreed brand blueprint  
    • Ensure key day-to-day Brand Management tasks are executed fully and to a high level of quality including S&OP forecasting, media planning, customer promotion tracking, Marketing Investment spend and management, quality tracking, brand health and share tracking and range management

    Category Marketing Director

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    You are a Marketing Director at the top of your game, with P&L accountability for your brands and the category. You are focussed on growing the market share and margins of our leading brands, in South Africa and beyond. You will develop and manage sustainable branded p rod uct propositions and category marketing strategies that meet the demands of the consumer and Category market dynamics. As a natural visionary, you support category strategy development, drive category marketing strategy, and work across the business with Customer, Marketing, R&D and Integrated Supply Chain to drive the brand. You will be supported by Group Marketing to ensure all activity is developed in line with the strategic guidelines

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop marketing strategy within the framework of the category strategy set by the Category Managing Director, with a focus on profitability, brand building and new product development activities
    • Own your category and brand P&L shrewdly managing the portfolio of brands under your control to deliver against targets for the category and Tiger in South Africa and beyond
    • Craft the overall category brand blueprints and plan for your brands to ensure delivery of P&L targets at the Category and Portfolio level 
    • Identify the pipeline of NPD initiatives (innovation, renovation, value engineering), pricing (working with the strategic pricing CoE ), campaign planning, and RTM strategy development for local and international markets
    • Use your marketing expertise to deliver excellence in brand activation 
    • Develop a deep understanding of the market, consumer preferences within your category and markets, ensuring all brand and marketing activities are rooted in category and consumer insight and complemented by a solid understanding of market and competitor dynamics 
    • Evolve the category by driving innovation, identifying new markets, new channels and NPD opportunities (renovation, innovation and value engineering) and working with R&D to drive these through to launch 
    • Report on category and brand marketing performance, relative to the competition, to the Category Director, identifying corrective actions, and directly manage marketing budget to ensure excellence

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • 5+ years brand and marketing experience with a proven track record of working across functions to deliver marketing excellence
    • Proven record of success delivering compelling consumer communications and managing agencies to deliver campaigns across a diverse range of media   
    •  Demonstrated ability to develop innovative consumer goods propositions based on rich consumer insights
    • Prior experience working within a dynamic brand team, recognised as a team player capable of building relationships quickly and exciting others with your natural passion for brands
    • Relevant tertiary qualification is recommended

    To safely transport bulk flour from the Mill to Albany Bakery

    Experience Industry

    • +3 years’ experience as a Code 14 driver
    • Working at heights experience but not essential, as training is provided,

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Load bulk flour at The Mill and transport the flour to Albany Bakery
    • Blow off flour at Albany Bakery,
    • Back up driver for the Silo,
    • Do vehicle checks,
    • Report all non-conformances pertaining to the vehicle and the flour,
    • Submit all delivery documentation in a timely manner,
    • Report all accidents, damage and malfunctions involving company equipment to management,
    • Inspect the truck for defects and safe operating condition before, during and after trips.
    • Establish and maintain excellent customer relationships,
    • Complete basic maintenance, such as minor repairs, to keep vehicle neat and running properly

    • Responsible for managing all aspects of moderately complex manufacturing operations in an 8,50 tph Wheat Mill. Responsible to deliver results that meet quality, customer service, safety, innovation and cost criteria.
