    Accountant (Cape Town CBD)

    Description

    • BDO Business Services Outsourcing has a vacancy for a Senior Accountant who will help in maintaining/managing portfolios of monthly and annual accounting clients. 

    Competencies:

    • Perform the following annual engagements:
    • Annual write-up of accounting records utilising the firms preferred software tool, i.e. Xero, SAGE Online, Pastel Partner
    • Compilation Engagements in terms of ISRS 4410
    • Independent Review Engagements in terms of ISRE 2400
    • Accounting Officer Engagements in terms of Close Corporations Act
    • Ensuring that proper planning is performed before execution
    • Ensuring BDO SOP’s are followed at all times
    • Proposing journals to client (via Senior / Manager)
    • Communicating with clients and making engagement arrangements, discuss engagement results
    • Drafting AFS per IFRS and IFRS for SMEs

    Associate Director: Corporate Tax Compliance (Open to National Offices)

    Description

    BDO has a vacancy for an Associate Director: Corporate Tax Compliance. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Tax Compliance you will inter alia be responsible for:

    • Assisting BDO to achieve its financial targets driving the BDO people, brand, business development, technical tax competence and client service in line with BDO values.
    • Reviewing technical documents by utilizing a sound knowledge of basic income tax and corporate law.
    • Reviewing income tax returns (ITR14 / IT12EI) and supporting tax schedules.
    • Reviewing provisional tax calculations.
    • Reviewing objection and appeals and responses to SARS queries.
    • Reviewing withholding tax returns.

    Senior Manager (Cape Town CBD)

    Primary Purpose of the Job

    The Senior Manager will lead our project management, digital transformation, and specialist advisory projects within FS. It will be the job of the Advisory Senior Manager to provide specialist oversight and guidance to the team. The Advisory Senior Manager will also mentor, upskill and coach the existing team to ensure that we build a sustainable specialist FS advisory team.

    Main Duties and Responsibilities

    • Take ownership of, and manages work assignments (any budget or complexity) to completion within the allocated time frame and to an appropriate standard (quality), through:
    • Proper planning before the assignment, appropriate coaching during the assignment, attention to quality of the deliverable and the supporting documentation, adequately completing provisions,
    • Managing the WIP appropriately and within budget, where applicable, billing the engagement, and closing the engagement.
    • Is an effective project manager and coaches other to be effective project managers.
    • Agrees development plan with the partner at the start of the assignment
    • Coaches the team in the writing of Management Letter Points (MLPs) of an appropriate standard for weaknesses identified. Discusses with the client and obtains their comments.
    • Reviews written documents to ensure that they are organised, well-written, referenced, and easy to follow.
    • Establish effective working relationships directly with key clients, and broader BDO stakeholders.
    • Understand what the company you are working on, actually does and how they make revenue.
    • Bring industry insights and recommendations to the client during client discussions.
    • Ensures value-added delivery to the client driving sustainability of client relationship and work allocation.

    Requirements

    Work Experience and Knowledge

    • CISA
    • Certification in IT management, IT Risk or CRISC is advantageous
    • Experience in Financial Services clients
    • Proven experience in dealing with senior IT executives advising on IT strategy and IT risks

    Junior/Intermediate Accountant (Cape Town CBD)

    Description

    BDO Business Services Outsourcing Services has vacancies for an Intermediate Accountant who will help in maintaining/managing portfolios of monthly and annual accounting clients.

    Competencies:

    • Experience in accounting and has a passion in preparing the accounting records from source to trial balance;
    • Tech savvy and adaptability to using multiple cloud-based accounting platforms, including experience in working on the cloud when generating accounting records
    • Previous experience in managing own client portfolio, including the onboarding of clients, client interaction and communications throughout the accounting assignment up until the delivery
