    Enterprise Risk Practitioner

    Job Description
    Reporting to the Enterprise Risk Manager, the successful candidate will assist the Enterprise Risk Manager in the design, implementation and management of the Risk Management Framework throughout SANSA. They will report on and monitor risks and mitigation factors. They will also assist in the management and reporting on anti-corruption, fraud, fruitless and wasteful and irregular expenditure, and overseeing the Business Continuity Plans across SANSA.

    The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in either Risk Management/Finance/Accounting/Management or an equivalent relevant professionally recognized Risk Management qualification.
    • A minimum of 5 years’ Enterprise Risk Management experience in a similar environment.
    • Knowledge on risk management in the public sector, anti-corruption strategy, fraud prevention measures, king reports on corporate governance as well as Business Continuity Management.
    • Advanced knowledge of project management systems and specialized risk management software.
    • Moderate knowledge of word, excel and power point. HR and ER practices, principles and methodologies.

    Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

    • Annual Enterprise Risk Management Plan

    Space Education Specialist

    Description

    Reporting to the Space Education Manager, the Space Education Specialist will be responsible for designing and delivering educational programs focused on space science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education. This role aims to inspire and educate various audiences about space exploration, technology, and the universe. It involves creating engaging content, organising events, and collaborating with educators and scientists to promote space education to diverse audiences. It is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing science outreach programs and activities.

    Working conditions.

    • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required for events and programs.
    • The role requires travel to various locations for outreach events and programs.
    • Ability to lift and transport materials and equipment for events and activities.

    Key performance areas will include, but are not limited to:

    • Public outreach and space awareness raising.
    • Events Management.
    • Communication.
    • Collaboration and Partnerships.
    • Evaluation and Reporting.
    • People Management.

    Requirements

    • An NQF level 8 qualification in Space Science, Astronomy, Education, Science Communication, or a related field.
    • A Master’s degree is an advantage.
    • A valid driver’s license.
    • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a trainer/ educator in a scientific space institution.
    • Demonstrated experience leading a diverse team.
    • Demonstrated experience in educational program development and delivery, particularly in space science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
    • Knowledge of space science concepts and the ability to communicate them effectively to diverse audiences.
    • Excellent organisational and project management skills.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Proficiency in using digital tools and social media for educational purposes.
    • Background in creating multimedia educational content.
    • Creative and innovative thinking with strong problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Experience working with diverse communities and underrepresented groups in STEM.
    • Familiarity with informal education settings such as planetariums, science centres, or museums.
