    Medical Delegate Nutrition - Pretoria

    Position Summary

    • To achieve recommendation and advocacy of Nestlé Infant Nutrition (NIN) products with Health Care Professionals and Institutions. Responsible for ethical and science-based detailing of Nestle Infant Nutrition products in the 1st 1000 days.

    A day in the life of a Medical Delegate

    • Product and concept detailing in the assigned territory:
    • Apply Professional Negotiation Skills at an advanced level and use the appropriate product, concept knowledge and research to detail the NIN range to HCPs.

    Territory management

    • Manage the assigned territory of about 250 - 300 HCPs including HCI’s in assigned territory.
    • Achievement of field force effectiveness as per Master data management/HCP classification/ HCP and HCI segmentation, master schedule planning, HCP call rate, call strike rate and execution of territory action plans.
    • Execution of “hybrid/remote interaction model”.

    Compliance

    • Application of the Code Management system guiding compliance for all daily activities, to assist the leadership team to ensure that all activities within the team and region, comply with the WHO International Code for the marketing of Breastmilk substitutes, Nestle Instructions, and the local Code.

    Advocacy:

    • Ensure increased advocacy towards Nestle Infant Nutrition products and Nestle Nutrition services, when detailing to HCP's and HCI’s, through applying the acquired functional competency skills and key account management.
    • Seek and build strategic relationships with key contacts in both private and government sector.
    • Driving recommendation / advocacy at an Institutional level and with Health Care Professionals.

    What will make you successful?

    • BSc Dietetics/ Nutrition or Nursing degree holder
    • 2 years’ experience in Medical Delegate role or a representative in the pharmaceutical industry will be a benefit.
    • Experience with data management using a digital device and MS Excel intermediate experience required.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license.
    • Must be able to speak English fluently– additional languages are beneficial.
    • Must have good planning, organizing, communication and negotiation skills.
    • Must be able to work independently, self-starter, solution orientated, adaptable and result driven.
    • Must be willing to travel (including trips away from home).
    • Computer literate, MS Office, MS Excel intermediate level with data analysis experience
    • Experience with virtual engagement.

    Materials Planner - Buyer

    A day in the life of a Materials Planner

    Create a DPS Plan

    • Create a feasible production plan within DPS horizon (4 weeks rolling) considering capacity, labour, and materials constraints.
    • Optimize production plan by adhering to sequencing recommendations.
    • Gain consensus with Supply Planner on SKU prioritization
    • Housekeeping of past-due process orders impacting DPS horizon
    • Create and maintain process orders to meet DPS plan.
    • Drive the Weekly Production Plan Review and get sign-off from planning partners.

    Exception Management

    • Maintain DPS master data in APO
    • Identify any exceptions in actual production compared to the planned production.
    • Accommodate capacity requirements for trial runs
    • Align with supply planner on maintenance of planned shutdowns in capacity profiles
    • Share visibility of ageing materials and propose action
    • Monitor materials phase-in and phase-in with MRP planner

    Attend Planning and NCE Meetings

    • Participate in DOR and WOR meetings
    • Drive Weekly Production Planning review meeting (WPR)
    • Ad-hoc attendance of commercial MOR meeting

    DPS Reports

    • Monitor BW DSA daily
    • Publish BW MSA with reason codes report on a weekly basis
    • Run housekeeping reports

    Raw and Pack Materials Buying (Local & Import Sourcing)

    • Ensure raw and pack materials availability for production through purchase order management and Supplier Relations
    • Work with strategic buyer to secure future supply
    • Go about daily tasks to keep stock holding within agreed stock cover targets
    • Be up to date with NPD initiatives
    • Drive on time payment through resolution of parked and blocked invoices and GRIR Management
    • Manage scheduled deliveries
    • Manage purchase order delivery dates and quantities
    • Consistent follow-up on orders with suppliers
    • Avoid write-offs
    • Monitor key indicators (Supplier performance) and MRA
    • Collaboration with suppliers on long term forecasts
    • Management of Claims, Returns and Refusals

    What will make you successful?

    • Grade 12 or equivalent educational qualification 
    • 3 years’ experience as an Operational Buyer in a FMCG company
    •  Experience on the SAP procurement module.
    • A strong team player.
    •  The ability to work under pressure.
    • Dealing with both local and international suppliers
    •  Understanding of compliance KPIs in procurement
    •  Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Words, Excel Outlook)
