    Starke Ayres: Sales Assistant (Rosebank)

    Description

    • Provides excellent, professional customer service at all times, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
    • Assists customers with purchases by advising or sourcing relevant advice from horticultural personnel.
    • Loads customers trolleys with their purchase and guides them to the till points and assist the cashier with capturing the correct code/price of products.
    • After payment, carefully loads purchases into the customers vehicle, ensuring that all trolleys are returned to the trolley areas as per seasonal operational requirements.
    • Responsible for maintenance of a demarcated area of the Nursery in a clean and tidy condition at all times
    • Maintains all plants in the demarcated area in a clean, healthy, and saleable condition.
    • Brings all poor-quality plants to the attention of the Nursery Sales Supervisor / Horticulturist.
    • Assists with the correct labelling of plants and packs them in their correct sales areas.
    • Prepares areas for new stock.
    • Ensures that sales areas are always kept neat and tidy and plants are effectively displayed.
    • Assists with annual stock take.

    Requirements

    • A National Senior Certificate (NQF level 4) (essential)
    • A Diploma in Horticulture (essential)
    • Grade 12 (essential)
    • Nursery Assistant experience for at least 1 Year

    Starke Ayres: Picker Packer

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Picks products and makes up orders as per customer order and transfers them to the holding area for checking.
    • Ensures that correct seed reference numbers are picked and report all incorrect reference numbers to the Stock Controller.
    • Advises Stock Controller if certain items are out of stock and awaits further instructions.
    • Assists fellow workers with execution of tasks whenever own responsibilities have been executed and completed.
    • Ensures that work area/s are neat, tidy, organised and clean at all times.
    • Assists with and adheres to security measures to ensure the safety of products, assets and facility
    • Assists with the bi-annual as well as ad hoc stock counts/checks as per Stock Controller instruction.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    MANAGEMENT

    • Manage and control working capital within limits and time cycles.
    • Exert good communication, negotiation and technical skills
    • Ensure department’s compliance with policies and procedures
    • Ensure department profits, return on assets, costs and margins meet budget
    • Ensure that required daily reports are sent through to Head office correctly and timeously.
    • Action the monthly matrix report and send through to Head office 
    • Ensure physical stock placement at required branches.

    SALES

    • Ensure all sales marketing programs are executed
    • Lead conversion
    • Meet budgeted unit and sales target
    • Execute and manage enquires and leads
    • Develop and maintain additional external channels
    • Manage sales cycle to delivery and aftersales or lost sales analysis

    CUSTOMER SATISFACTION

    • Attend to customer enquiries timeously and accurately
    • Ensure accurate trade and retail pricing
    • Ensure all equipment are completely saleable.

    HOUSEKEEPING AND SAFETY

    • Ensure that department is neat, tidy and includes marketing displays.
    • Ensure that equipment is well displayed
    • Ensure that communications are done timeously
    • Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations including OHS and franchise requirements.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Qualifications:

    • Min: 3-year experience in Agricultural Sales
    • Ideal: Bachelors in Marketing/Sales

    Experience:

    • 3-year experience in Agricultural Sales

    • Above average command of English and Afrikaans
    • Strong business acumen
    • Strong people skills
    • Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
    • Proven sales experience
    • Well versed in the Agricultural machinery market
    • Ability to manage reconditioning costs
    • Well versed with different media options and developments
