    Junior Grader - GWK Trading Products Depot, Luckhoff

    Requirements

    The ideal candidate should have the following:

    • Grade 12 certificate
    • Minimum 1-2 experience in a similar role
    • Grain Grading course
    • Computer literate
    • Code 8 Driver's License
    • Clear Criminal Record

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Comply with grading rules and regulations by reporting any discrepancies of the quality of grain to direct Supervisor
    • Conduct grain grading according to regulations and standards
    • Provide general support to the department such as accurate tracking of stock control cards
    • Assist with the administrative functions related to security, health and safety aspects
    • Manage client services by ensuring processes are in place to prevent escalation of client complaint
    • Ensure equipment is up to standard, maintained and calibrated where applicable
    • Be a GWK ambassador and a good team player.

    Millwright - Grain Field Chickens Abattoir , Reitz

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • Grade 12/NQF4.
    • Valid Millwright Trade Certificate (essential).
    • Wireman's license will be advantageous.
    • N3 Electrical Qualification.
    • Knowledge of transformers 11Kv to 400V.
    • Strong knowledge of pumps.
    • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Millwright.
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the FMCG environment.
    • Experience working on generators.
    • Code B driver’s license.
    • Good understanding of the OHS Act.

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS

    • 24/7 standby availability may be required.
    • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
    • Travel to off-site locations including municipality sites and farms may be required.
    • Manual dexterity required to use power and hand tools.
    • Frequently noisy working environment.
    • Hazards associated with the trade.
    • Work both indoors and outdoors.
    • Must be able to work in temperatures of -25 degrees.
    • Must be able to work on his own.
    • Good communication skills.
    • Must be prepared to work shifts and on weekends.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and detailed repair drawings related to equipment and machinery.
    • Dismantle equipment when required for repair or transportation and reassemble it at the appropriate time.
    • Move equipment to appropriate site for repair or maintenance to avoid contamination or workplace safety hazards.
    • Create solid foundations for machines on-site and instruct other abattoir and/ or Municipality workers about safe and efficient interaction with machinery and equipment.
    • Align and calibrate machinery and equipment parts as required for efficient and safe operation.
    • Travel to Municipality site (sometimes multiple sites per day) to attend to or maintain equipment/ infrastructure.

    Municipality Infrastructure:

    • Water works.
    • Sewerage works.
    • Pump station.
    • Water pipelines.
    • Sewerage lines.

    Grain Field Chickens Equipment:

    • Holding room.
    • Electrical & mechanical maintenance at Workers Trust’s M5 & Shine Away Chicken Farms.
    • Report machine failure and breakdowns to management, record it on the daily log sheet and ensure job cards are filled in correctly and signed off by production and maintenance.
    • Must have provable working experience in the maintenance of the above-mentioned equipment.
    • Any other required as per Maintenance Manager.
    • Comply with occupational health and safety requirements as per GFC standards and procedures.

    Senior Dispatch Supervisor - Grain Field Chickens Abattoir , Reitz

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 or NQF Level equivalent.
    • Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management/ Logistics.
    • Minimum of 5 years’ warehousing experience.
    • Supervisory experience within a poultry abattoir environment.
    • Experience within the FMCG/ Food Industry preferred.
    • Advanced Microsoft office (incl. Advanced Excel).
    • CB - Code B driver’s license/ own reliable transport.
    • Willingness to work shift and overtime including on weekends and public holidays.

    Duties and responsibilities

    • Ensure trucks are loaded as per GFC policy and procedure.
    • Compilation of necessary documentation including dispatch fracturing and weigh bridge ticket.
    • Daily stock report to management.
    • Stock-take as required by management.
    • Liaise with internal departments on an ongoing basis to ensure quality service and products.
    • Ensure cases/ pallets per square meter targets are met.
    • Ensure warehouse layout is optimized through correct placing of stock/ goods.
    • Ensure products are picked and dispatched to ensure delivery schedule times are achieved.
    • Continuous stock-control to limit financial losses.
    • Ensure inventory accuracy is maintained.
    • Demonstrate leadership skills, motivation and conflict resolution.
    • Mentor and coach subordinates.
    • Manage the performance of subordinates and discipline in the workplace.
    • Identify training and development needs for staff members.
    • Give input into the recruitment and selection of staff members.
    • Monitor overtime levels in the workplace and authorize as needed.
    • Ensure the adherence to completion of all documentation accurately and in full within own shift.

    • Forklift Pre-shift check sheets
    • Supervisor check sheets

    • Production planning – fresh

    • Complete and/ or update the prescribed reports and/ or documentation manually or on a computer system.
    • Ensure that all credits are processed accurately according to the SOP.
    • Monitor costs by analysing cost allocations, identifying discrepancies and implementing cost saving strategies.

    Range - Major costs include, but are not limited to:

    • Overtime
    • Material Handling Equipment utilization
    • Delays
    • Held overs
    • Returns
    • Analyse and report on monthly deviations and costs.
    • Give input to Warehouse & Logistics Manager during compilation of annual budgets.
    • Put strategies in place to ensure optimal delivery schedule of the various customer accounts.
    • Provide input into management meetings.
    • Provide input into the compilation of Service Level Agreements.
    • Ensure service levels are maintained in accordance with SLA.
    • Provide slow moving/ obsolete reports to Manager to manage these items in the warehouse.
    • Ensure continuous supplier/ sales department/ client communication and feedback.

    Range - Communication and feedback include, but is not limited to:

    • Daily, weekly, monthly & quarterly reports
    • Sales meetings with GFC sales team
    • Performance Reviews of own line reports
    • Client satisfaction questionnaires at different levels
    • Help resolve customer complaints.
    • Implement continuous improvements to improve both efficiencies as well as services given to customers.
    • Identify cost saving initiatives without compromising services provided.
    • Identify remedial actions whenever service levels are being compromised.
    • Ensure legal compliance within the warehouse.
    • Assist with information on accident/ incident investigations as per SOP.
    • Identify remedial actions to improve safety in the warehouse.
    • Ensure compliance with SHEQ standards at all times.
    • Any other duties as may be required by management.
