    What will you do?

    Under general supervision schedules operational time of information systems in order to ensure that the information systems equipment is effectively utilised. Recommends standard policies and procedures for providing routine service. Coordinates preventive maintenance requirements with operating requirements.

    BI Data Engineer

    Job Purpose

    Guided by senior developers you will be responsible for establishing new technology components and reusable solution patterns that can be leveraged by business facing development teams in their day-to-day solutions. You will constantly be developing and setting new principles, standards, processes, procedures, and guidelines for the wider BI community.

    You should be able to communicate technical information to technical teams, as well as be competent in communicating challenges and solutions to project and operational leadership. An understanding of data management solutions and a keen sense of the strategic value of information to an organisation will be of importance. You will also be responsible for developing data warehousing blueprints, evaluating hardware and software platforms and integrating systems; translating business needs into long-term architecture solutions.

    Main Responsibilities:

    The performance of the Data Engineer can be described and measured by:

    1. Define a structured approach to problem solving and delivery against it.

    Work Experience:

    Key Account Manager

    What will you do?

    • Build, maintain and strengthen the relationship between SCI and allocated institutional clients, ensuring to deliver excellent client service.
    • Identification & translation of client needs & servicing requests

    GSA Managed Applications: Junior Web Applications Engineer

    What will you do?

    As a member of the Sanlam Group Technology(SGT) Managed Applications team, you will be is responsible for implementation, integration & deployments for various standalone applications across the Sanlam group, however this role is mostly focused on support for our WordPress Solutions.     API Integration Specialist

    What will you do?

    As an API Gateway Integration resource in the GSA: Managed Application Services team, you will be is responsible for managing implementations, integration & deployments for various standalone applications across the Sanlam group on. You are expected to ensure 99% uptime for all hosting platforms, especially platforms related to the API solution.  Your responsibility includes dealing with various stakeholders including application developers, architects, end-to-end architects, project managers, management teams, change management, incident management, etc. It will be your responsibility to ensure standards are implemented and maintained, and also manage and maintained SLA’s with various clients.

    What will make you successful in this role?

    • Be a trusted subject matter expert in System Integration and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs)
    • Previous work experience in an Integration and/or API gateway platform
    • General understanding of good API Management practices
    • Ensuring stability in the API integration platform through appropriate DevOps practices (documentation, monitoring, performance monitoring, automated deployment, CI/CD pipelines)
    • Maintain or improve on current High Availability of platform during outages or Disaster Recovery exercises.
    • Interacting with internal and external stakeholder including developers, project manager, product management, technical support to understand and support their API needs
    • General knowledge and understanding of Linux RHEL (or similar) operating system
    • Understanding of following DB technologies: MS SQL, Mariadb, MySql, MySql Enterprise, DB2, Oracle, Postgres
    • Understanding the following concepts: Load balancing, DNS configuration, Firewalls and whitelisting, network perimeters, server proxies, SSL/TLS encryption, REST services, SOAP services, API management
    • Able to troubleshoot issues related to application hosting on a server level
    • Create weekly / monthly reports on environment stability
