    Bulk Controller (JHB - Edenvale) (JHB East Rand)

    Description
    PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

    • The Bulk Controller plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth and efficient bulk operations, maximizing productivity, and upholding quality and safety standards. They oversee day-to-day routines, manage people effectively, and maintain high performance, safety, and compliance standards.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Analyse inbound load plan for the day and communicate any capacity challenges with central stock planning team.
    • Managing and overseeing inbound receipts and bulk outbound loading, ensuring efficient handling of goods.
    • Facilitating the replenishment of stock to picking areas to maintain optimal inventory levels for picking.
    • Implementing effective stock rotation strategies to prevent product expiration or obsolescence.
    • Planning and implementing the layout of the bulk warehouse, freezer, and chiller areas for efficient storage and retrieval.
    • Monitoring and managing temperature control systems to ensure product integrity and compliance with safety standards.
    • Overseeing offloading and replenishing equipment to maintain smooth operations and asset care.
    • Managing and monitoring warehouse capacity to optimize space utilization and prevent overstocking.
    • Generating comprehensive reports on warehouse operations, performance, and capacity.
    • Ensure all supplier non-compliances are recorded and communicate in daily non-conformancy report
    • Conducting regular inspections of racking systems to ensure their safety and integrity.
    • Monitoring and improving visual performance indicators in the bulk area for enhanced efficiency.
    • Maintaining and reducing the usage of Chep pallets to minimize costs.
    • Monitor truck arrival times and escalate truck batching to the truck planning department.
    • Establishing and fostering a safe work environment by enforcing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) usage and overall safety compliance.
    • Operate within safety standards.
    • Managing the team, including organizing daily, weekly, and monthly meetings, overseeing time and attendance, planning and managing leave, and addressing industrial relations and providing relevant coaching and training.
    • Conduct team meetings.
    • Monitor and contribute to the overall achievement of the team's goals.

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

    • Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent qualification.
    • Proven experience of at least 2 years in a similar position, with a preference for experience within the FMCG Retail industry.

    Description
    PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

    • The purpose of a Delivery Driver is to safely drive the assigned truck, conduct pre-inspection checks to ensure roadworthiness, verify and deliver goods accurately and on time, maintain effective communication, uphold safety and compliance standards, provide excellent customer service, and contribute to the efficient transportation of goods.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Keep accurate records of daily activities, including mileage, fuel consumption, delivery receipts, and any incidents or accidents that occur during duties. These records should be maintained in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
    • Maintain professional and courteous communication with customers, warehouse personnel, and other stakeholders. They should aid and address any concerns or questions related to the delivery process promptly and professionally.
    • Report any mechanical issues or maintenance requirements of their assigned trucks. Promptly communicate such issues to the appropriate personnel and follow the company's procedures for vehicle maintenance and repairs.
