    Internship: Customer Care Agent

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Grade 12 (NQF level 4) plus Diploma in Marketing / Business Management / Business Administration or NQF level 6 qualification.
    • Only City of Joburg residents will be considered.

    Primary Function:

    • Provide highly proficient and efficient customer service that satisfies customer requirements and expectations, producing first contact resolutions while upholding quality and consistency in service delivery.

    Key Learning Areas:

    • Provide customers with accurate information about products and services offered by the company and maintain records of customer interactions.
    • Provide high-quality and professional query resolution that ensures customer satisfaction.
    • Manage customer complaints in line with applicable standard operating procedures.
    • Build and improve relationships with customers to enhance loyalty and communication, both internal and external, to improve the functioning of Rea Vaya, resulting in increased profitability.
    • Execute effective stakeholder relations management in line with applicable policies and standard operating procedures.

    Internship: Revenue Call Centre

    Minimum Requirements: 

    • Grade 12 (NQF level 4). 
    • Only City of Joburg residents will be considered.  

    Primary Function:

    • Provide a high level of Call Centre service, both telephonic and written, using initiative to analyse, identify account queries and process necessary procedures using all available resources in order to resolve revenue related queries on first point on contact, logging and/or escalating all the queries that cannot be resolved to the relevant department, whilst meeting or exceeding targets set by the R & CRM department and the needs of customers.

     Key Learning Areas: 

    • To apply set standard operational procedures in logging of all revenue accounts related queries related to all services officers by the City of Joburg for further processing by the relevant back-end department while queries relating to first time resolution are logged and resolved immediately; 
    • Perform specific sequences associated with maintaining electronically based information /data/records. 
    • To subscribe to the Performance management Policy within the City of Joburg Municipality; 
    • To maintain strong customer and working relation with RSSC customers, peers and other internal stakeholders to ensure correct focus and support; 
    • To efficiently utilize the operational assets and resources in the area of responsibility cost effectively in accordance with the legislative framework of the City’s policies and procedures;

    • Facilitate and coordinate climate change initiatives within the city, including the development of policies, strategies and plans to ensure the climate change is implemented within the city. 

     KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: 

    • Administration and record keeping; 
    • Provide support to the development of the city’s Climate Action Tracking tools. 
    • Compile a report summarizing the findings and recommendations from site visits and share it with relevant parties. 

     LEADING COMPETENCIES:

    • Good Communication skills. 
    • Project management skills. 
    • Coordinating skills.

    Internship: Executive Directors Office

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Grade 12 (NQF level 4) plus Degree (NQF level 7) in Business Management Administration, Public Management, or Public Administration.
    • Only City of Joburg residents will be considered.

    Primary Function:

    • To perform developmental level professional administrative work, research, and analysis in support of the Executive Director's Office at the Department of Human Settlements.
    • Participate in the directorate's day-to-day operations, including general office administration, monitoring and evaluation, risk management and regulatory compliance, HR, and involvement in administrative tasks related to long, medium, and short-range strategic planning.
    • Contribute to the development of the Business Plan, Quarterly report, and strategic planning concept notes.

    Key Learning Areas:

    • Render developmental level professional administrative and support services in the Business Management Directorate.
    • Site visits and research analysis—assist with verifying reported information by undertaking site visits and/or physical risk assessments to projects.

    • The internship programme is an intervention by the City of Johannesburg to address the growing demand by tertiary institutions for students to undergo on-the-job exposure as a prerequisite to acquiring an academic qualification or as a requirement after obtaining an academic qualification to gain experiential training.
    • The City is committed to providing work-based training for students.

    Eligibility:

    • This internship opportunity is applicable to youth in Johannesburg communities who qualify for this internship and have never participated in an internship programme before.
    • This vacancy is open to all qualifying STUDENTS AND MATRICULANTS in the Johannesburg Community for a period not exceeding 18 months.
