    Project Manager - Alldays

    Job description
    The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

    • Safe achievement of production and financial targets to client's and M&RC's standards
    • Reception and delivery of employees / equipment / material to the underground operation
    • Utilise strategic, management and technical skills to plan, delegate, control and monitor tasks through to project delivery in line with M&RC's project management framework
    • Manage and schedule mining / construction activities to project scope, ensure team understands original scope Monitor and maintain critical path and project status on MS Projects
    • Lead, develop and coach employees to ensure effective day to day operations in alignment with M&RC's values
    • Identify talent, critical and core skills and implement talent management initiatives to ensure business continuity
    • Build relationships cross functionally to ensure efficient delivery against common objectives
    • Maintain and improve stakeholder and client relationships to ensure smooth workflows and timeous project delivery Enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of work practices and systems by optimizing all available resources, i.e. people, technology, finance and systems
    • Identify, develop and implement controlled change initiatives to ensure project continuity
    • Manage risk and operational discipline in line with legislation, policies, procedures and standards to ensure successful outcomes.
    • Manage the project in line with contractual and commercial requirements, extension of time and claims formulation Follow up monthly on project certificates and valuations
    • Self and team use SharePoint as a repository for project information and project management assurance 

    Minimum requirements
    Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

    • Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 equivalent
    • BSc / BEng / BTech in Mining or Engineering
    • Mine Managers Certificate of Competency / Government Certificate of Competency [Engineering Mines & Works] Project Management Professional [Preferred]
    • Business / Financial Management qualification [Advantageous]
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office [Excel, Projects, Word & PowerPoint]
    • Exposure to CCS [Construction Computer Software]
    • Entrepreneurial and commercial thinking skills, with in-depth understanding of contracts & project financials Strategic thinking, enablement and leadership skills
    • Sound analytical, logical reasoning, judgement and decision making skills
    • Ability to apply expertise and technology, deliver results and meet customer expectations Excellent communication 

    Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

    • Minimum 5 years of operational project management experience in an underground mining environment, with experience as a 2.6.1 legal appointee  
    • Experienced in successfully managing industrial relations and union community engagement in a highly unionised environment
    • Sound knowledge, understanding and experience of Trackless Mechanised Mining & Mine Development of large excavations.
    • Sound knowledge, understanding and experience of single & multiple heading utilization and optimization.
    • Sound knowledge, understanding and experience of TMM utilization and appreciation.
    • Working knowledge of Project Management principles, frameworks, methodologies and system requirements, with proven depth of experience in project management i.e. meeting project deadlines, achieving financial targets and commercial entitlements

    Chief Engineer - Alldays

    Job description
    The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

    • Co-ordination of M&RC Site Engineer outputs
    • Effectively lead, motivate, coach and develop site engineering teams to achieve production and safety targets
    • Provide mechanical, electrical, structural and civil on site leadership and professional execution of construction work to designs, drawings, standards, specifications and legal regulations
    • Forecasts and plans are live and site engineering resources are in place in accordance with, but not limited to, project scope, budget, plans, scheduling and procurement
    • Drive rapid resolution of engineering issues, identify site technical risks, contribute to innovative solutions and enforce change management discipline
    • Maintenance of fleet and equipment to best industry benchmarks of cost effectiveness, availability and reliability
    • Maintain quality standards, integrity of reporting and communications
    • Required training, methods, documentation, risk assessments and procurement schedules are in place (Schedule integration, Engineering POP plan integration)
    • Effective engagement with site project team, the client’s project team and manage/resolve interference when it affects engineering function productivity
    • Team and self-understand and comply with legal regulations and M&RC’s policies, procedures, standards and safety protocols and ensure zero harm when carrying out work
    • Effective self and team management in alignment with M&RC’s values and leadership initiatives
    • Proactive risk management of contract

    Minimum requirements

    • Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
    • BSc Engineering, BTech or National Higher Diploma Engineering from a recognised institution
    • DMR Government Certificate of Competency to practice as an Engineer (GCC Mines and Works - Mechanical or Electrical)
    • Project management qualification and ECSA registration (advantageous)
    • Proficient in MS Office including MS Projects
    • Valid Driver’s license and Medically fit to work underground
    • Drawing and design reading and interpretation, skills Enablement and leadership skills
    • Project and change management skills
    • Ability to apply expertise and technology, deliver results and meet customer expectations
    • Reporting skills (progress, quality, planning and scheduling)
    • Excellent communication skills with ability to negotiate and resolve issues

    Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

    • Minimum 10 years in a senior role, with hands on experience managing a large fleet (50 units) of TMMM, or opencast mining fleet and service/repair workshop.
    • Experience in vertical shaft operation and maintenance, including shaft sinking
    • Managed a fleet utilizing an enterprise fleet management system such as SAP, JDE, Karabo, Maximo, Pragma or similar
    • Operation and execution of a QA system and associated documentation
    • Application and execution of standards related to construction work, structures and structural integrity, quality controls, drafting procedures and conducting risk assessments

    • Section 26 Fitter/Diesel Mechanic Trade Certificate / MIETTB Trade Certificate through a registered body
    • Valid Medical certificate of Fitness
    • Valid First Aid Certificate
    • Valid Code EB driver's license
    • Good communication skills in English
    • Able to solve problems within agreed standards, policies and procedures.
    • Team leadership and management skills
    • Sound listening communication skills.
    • Self-motivated self-starter with high levels of initiative
    • Able to make decisions within agreed parameters.
    • Job planning skills

    Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

    • 5 year's mining industry experience (underground and surface)
    • 5 year's trade experience as a TMM Fitter
