    Financial Accountant - JHB

    Responsibilities:

    • Ensuring Company Overhead costs are processed accurately, completely and timeously.
    • Collaborate with finance and management teams to analyse financial data, identify trends, and provide insights for decision-making.
    • Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities for company overheads, including meeting with heads of departments and discussing costs and budgets during the budgeting process as well as monthly reporting and analysis of actuals vs budgets.
    • Following up and ensuring correct postings and allocations of costs to correct cost centres and units. Posting correcting journals where necessary and implementing corrective action to avoid reoccurrence of incorrect allocations.
    • Ensure supplier billing is correct and where incorrectly billed communicate with supplier till correct costs are billed.
    • Ensure monthly Balance sheet reconciliations are completed.
    • At month-end, assist with reviewing and accruing for unprocessed expenses and release of accruals once expenses processed.
    • Assisting in creating of fixed assets numbers in line with internal approval process.
    • Ensuring I/Co balances are cleared at month-end deadline.
    • Assist with documentation proof and explanation of entries during Internal & External Audit Reviews.
    • Complete purchase orders for Non-stock items when required.
    • Provide GL and cost centre allocations for POs.
    • Complete GR processing of invoices (if required) and handing over the 3-way matched documents to creditors for processing
    • Assist Group Financial Controller and General Manager Finance in preparation of journals, adhoc and recurring.
    • Submit journals with supporting documents to Group Financial Controller
    • Follow up on SAP to ensure all journals are posted and advise Management.
    • Keeping record of journals and supporting documents for future reference.
    • Assist in KFC process.

    Requirements:

    • Proven experience working as an Accountant in a corporate environment – 3 years+.
    • Understanding in financial accounting principles and practices.
    • Experience in budget preparation and budget monitoring.
    • Experience in managing the complexities of intercompany accounting.
    • Strong knowledge of accounting software (SAP) and MS Excel.

    Education and Experience required:

    • Matric is essential
    • Relevant tertiary qualification in food and beverage services or culinary arts is compulsory
    • Minimum 2 Years’ experience of progressive/kitchen management is compulsory
    • Experience with stock control, ordering and receiving
    • Halaal certification or training from a recognized Islamic authority
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Halaal compliance role, preferably in the food industry
