    Regional Procurement Manager - Africa

    The Regional Procurement Manager - Africa will lead the efforts for 3 Countries and 5 plants of material acquisition, managing inventory and execution of local MRO spend and implementing continued cost savings in the area of direct, indirect materials and freight. This role will also implement structure and process to leverage across all facilities within the region. 

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Safety: Assure the safety, protection, and efficient use of financial, physical, and human resources of the organization, as it relates to incoming raw materials and purchases. 
    • Regional implementation and alignment on Global strategies
    • In conjunction with the category leaders, drive cost reductions through the identification of new suppliers / alternate materials, leveraging suppliers to drive down Total Cost of Ownership.
    • Develop, promote, and lead the qualification of new suppliers in a cross-functional team for your region.
    • Lead/execute local & region-wide and cross functional initiatives (RFQs, 2nd source qualifications, supplier relationship management programs, risk assessments etc.).
    • Negotiate/award contracts & select suppliers in line with global/regional strategies and supporting larger global negotiations.

    • Manage inventory to achieve stated targets and reductions while maintaining adequate supply and OTIF.

    • Financial: Provide input related to supply, materials, and logistics to establish and achieve the approved budget. Provide input to the annual capital expenditures budget. 
    • Metrics: calculate & monitor costs during a purchase order period and achieve operating metrics & expense budget. Establish and monitor annual goals and objectives for the Purchasing function.
    • Operations: Support the operations and growth of the organization by developing vendor accountability systems and contingency plans that ensure quality, capability, and capacity.

    Qualifications, Experience and Skills required:

    • Bachelor’s degree, MBA preferred, business experience, relevant industry experience, and proven ability to manage projects.
    • Experience in packaging industry is desired, but not a must-have.
    • 10+ years of progressive, sourcing, and contracting experience, including extensive experience developing and executing strategic sourcing plans.
    • 10+ years working in a global/multinational corporate environment.
    • 10+ years materials and inventory management.
    • Articulate, clear, persuasive, and passionate in the spoken and written word, being fluent in English.

    Maintenance Manager - Paal

    MCC Paarl is looking for a Maintenance Manager. This person is responsible for coordinating and supervising the maintenance team, managing mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks, adhering to safety regulations, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement within the company. Your focus will be on delivering excellent service to internal customers while meeting performance expectations.

    Responsibilities:

    People Management:

    • Coordinate and supervise the maintenance team to take care of all production equipment and machinery.
    • Manage job cards, ensuring accurate documentation of work performed, parts used, and time taken.
    • Foster teamwork and promote cross-departmental collaboration to drive continual improvement.
    • Active member of the day-to-day maintenance activities.

    Process/Productivity:

    • Oversee all mechanical and electrical maintenance activities.

    Technical Business Analyst - IT EMEA

    The EMEA IT Business Systems division is looking for adding a Technical Business Analyst, who will work on activities related to the support, improvement and roll outs of several business IT systems throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa.

    Quality Manager

    Job purpose:

    Printing Specification Engineer

    The Role

    The printing specification engineer will work closely with the Technical Team to generate, manage and update specifications for all product items printed at MCC Label Johannesburg. Information is controlled using the Specification Management System (Radius), an integrated part of the material requirement planning (MRP) business system. Additional responsibilities include ordering new tooling items and liaising with the scheduler and Production departments to advise of tooling availability and lead times.

    Interface with internal stakeholders in exploring label technologies, clarifying specifications, resolving challenges, and delivering innovative label solutions while ensuring MCC executes specifications profitably.

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Establish layout and tooling requirements on new label profiles.
    • Liaise with procurement, supply chain and planning on material needs.
    • Ordering new tooling items and liaising with planning and Production departments to advise on availability and lead times.
    • Coordinate with external and intercompany tooling suppliers.
    • Manage internal and external tooling costs and tracking to ensure recovery.
    • Build product specs on Radius, ensure 100% accuracy and conduct root-cause analysis on specification non-conformances.
    • Participate in art reviews and meetings to coordinate projects by understanding ink, coating, adhesive and substrate requirements to develop innovative and sustainable label specifications.
    • Coordinate and control specifications following the technical and plant ISO 9001:2015 processes and procedures.
    • Communicate, coordinate and collaborate with all affected internal departments (customer service, pre-press, sales and production) as needed in technical issue resolution and best-practice manufacturing methods, including developing and documenting specifications and/or requirements for a given product.
    • Serve as an internal and external technical resource in troubleshooting specification-related print issues, including ink, adhesive, and substrate materials, manufacturing, and quality processes, as well as determining root causes of observed problems; recommend and implement solutions.
    • Assist in training new internal personnel with client interface to familiarise them with the product specifications.

    Experience/ Skills required

    • Qualification or Strong background in Packaging/Printing Industry
    • 5 - 8 years' experience in Labels Printing, Production and Customer Support.
    • Multiple Printing processes and material/substrate knowledge will be advantageous.
    • Industry background and strong understanding of inks, adhesives, coatings, lamination, gravure, flexography and other printing methods, curable coatings, converting, die-cutting, film/substrates, labels/packaging and related materials required.
    • In-depth technical knowledge of machinery and technology in a printing environment.
    • Poses strong communication skills with industry contacts to serve as a technical advisory resource with a keen sense of follow-up/follow-through.
    • Ability to lead and coordinate multiple projects across teams, and manage competing priorities.
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience analysing technical manufacturing issues and implementing solutions.
    • Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite, including intermediate ability with Excel (pivot tables, macros, formulas)
    • Self-starter: possess a strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritise and transition to new tasks.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to relay technical information to non-technical industry colleagues.

    Production Operations Manager

    The Production Operations Manager leads and manages all assigned production operations responsibilities for safety, quality, engineering, planning, productivity, people management, cost management and continuous improvement for all production operations and related services. This position serves as strategic leader, coach, and driver of MCC Johannesburg’s strategic initiatives in the plant.

    Key responsibillities:

    • Safety: Champion all aspects of personal and Plant Safety. Instill a sense of self responsibility for safety among employees. Exhibit a safety-first attitude in all that is done and assure the safety of the employees and the safe use of the equipment, including housekeeping and environmental compliance. Lead plant safety team. Personally, comply and ensure employee compliance with all workplace and product safety standards and procedures.
    • Quality: Optimize the production process to assure that quality is built-in, not inspected in. Quality levels must meet plant requirements. Support quality initiatives and corrective actions to drive a culture that supports our Quality Statement and helps employees learn and improve. Partner with the QA Manager to support quality initiatives and corrective actions. Comply with quality assurance specifications of the customer and MCC including but not limited to handling procedures, paperwork requirements, etc. Compliance with all data integrity, product safety, and all standards required.
    • Operations: Support the goals of the Plant by developing operational capability and capacity through leveraging technologies, people, continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles
    • Financial: Help establish and achieve the approved budget of the Plant, including developing and providing justification for the capital expenditures budget of the Plant
    • Customer Service: Instill a customer-centered culture for the Plant. Support efforts to achieve excellent on-time and in full performance. Contribute to company cross-functional teams, to achieve the overall effectiveness of customer relationships.
    • Performance Metrics: Establish, monitor and achieve Plant operating metrics and expense budget. Establish and monitor annual goals and objectives for the plant. Communicate KPI goals. Drive accountability throughout your department(s).
    • Capacity/Throughput: Manage the capacity and capability of the Plant working with the Production Planner, Sales and Plant Management team to meet fluctuating customer demands, optimizing profitability and lead time expectations. Minimize WIP between unit operations.
    • People: Build, develop and manage a high performing team to instill ownership of production objectives through selection, performance assessments, talent management, training, and development of associates down to the production associate level. Lead team to be capable of carrying out the short and long-term strategies of the plant.Lean Manufacturing: Support a culture of relentless pursuit of continuous improvement. Work with the Lead CI person to coordinate efforts in the plant under the direction of the General Manager. Utilize Lean tools of kaizen, 6S and Gemba to drive improvements in operations.
    • Technical Knowledge: Develop and continually improve technical knowledge of processes and new technologies in order to continually improve and problem solve.

    Requirements

    • Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma experience preferred. Formal certification is a plus.
    • Must be strong in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
    • Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements.
    • Rational, fact-driven decision-making skills.
    • High level of accuracy, strong attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills.
