    Lecturer: Humanities And Social Sciences

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    Lecturing

    • Lecture on programmes (must lecture on an IIE qualification) across various modes of delivery where relevant

    Results Administrator- Capturer

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    Credit Accumulation 

    • Assists with the capturing of students' automatic credits on the academic system
    • Ensures that all data entries for the summative assessment calculation have been complied with
    • Ensures that the summative assessment outcome is correct and thereafter is responsible for the release of these results on the student portal

    Post Assessment Mark Collation 

    • Co-ordinates the marking process with lecturers and ensures these marking deadlines are adhered to and managed according to the timeline
    • Co-ordinates the marking deadlines with the relevant Programme Manager to ensure there are no delays in the process
    • Ensures that result capture sheets are emailed to lecturers timeously for electronic completion
    • Captures the results / imports result capture sheets into the academic system
    • Completes regular audits on all activity logs relating to the marking process and ensures that all scripts are accounted for at any given point in time
    • Ensures that all Integrated Curriculum Engagement (ICE) results are captured by the lecturer outside the system
    • Facilitates the process of Individual Integrated Curriculum Engagement (ICE) task marking by managing the milestone dates with lecturers
    • Proactively applies early detection mechanisms to ensure that student queries relating to results discrepancies are minimal during peak assessment time
    • Verifies scripts received against the marks captured on the mark sheet for the Online Centre and submits the mark sheet to the Online Centre for processing on the academic system thereafter

    Cumulative Assessment Mark Release (Formative) 

    • Captures all formative assessment results
    • Compiles the Question by Question analysis when requested
    • Ensures that all results entries captured for the Cumulative Assessment (CASS) calculation have been complied with
    • Ensures that the cumulative assessment determination results also include ICE (Integrated Curriculum Engagement) assessment results

    Internal Moderation

    • Supports the campus Academic department in accessing scripts required for the internal moderation and decentralised marking process, as well as for the marking centre
    • Assists with the selecting and scanning of scripts for moderation and completing the activity logs pertaining to the steps involved in results processing, moderation and storage of an assessment
    • Liaises with the relevant Programme Manager responsible for deciding which scripts are moderated, and once confirmed, prepares all documents required for the moderation process to take place
    • Updates the Internal Moderation Tracking Grid accurately and timeously

    External Moderation 

    • Assists with scanning necessary scripts and uploading them on to the moderation tracking system and assigning this to the relevant Central Academic Team (CAT) member
    • Completes the Moderation Control Sheet (MCS) to be included with every set of External moderation
    • Ensures that the Moderation Control Sheet (MCS) and scripts/Portfolios of Evidence (POE's) are attached and assigned to the relevant Central Academic Team (CAT) and the Head of Programme (HOP) outcome is actioned correctly as per the release instruction on the MCS at campus level
    • Updates the External Moderation Tracking Grid accurately and timeously

    Post Assessment Mark Release  

    • Ensures that results are captures accurately against the script
    • Ensures that results capturing is up-to-date and released timeously on the system for students to view their system
    • Notifies students with overdue accounts of supplementary entry requirements where applicable

    Script Viewing and Remarks 

    • Identifies and co-ordinates script viewing requests made on The Student Hub reports and informs the Academic department to arrange a viewing appointment with the student
    • Identifies and co-ordinates remark requests made on The Hub and checks that payment has been made in respect and co-ordinates the remark with an appropriate marker thereafter
    • Follows up on the remark process to ensure that it happens within the allotted time
    • Ensures that the correct outcome is applied once the remark has been completed and returned to the Results Centre as per policy
    • Flags any marking discrepancies or concerns with regards to moderation and remarks with the relevant Academic staff member
    • Responsible for the archiving of scripts and Portfolios of Evidence (POE's) for on and off site storage in line with the policy

    Team Support & General

    • Assists with campus specific projects/ events (e.g Graduation, Open Day etc)
    • Collaborates with all departs on campus to facilitate optimal
    • Complies with The Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) legislation relevant to Results Centre

    Admissions Officer (Maternity Cover)- Fixed Term Contract

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    Student Application & Admission Administration

    • Collaborates with the campus Student Recruitment team to generate student admissions related queries
    • Follows up with the Student
    • Recruitment team for missing student information in order to finalise all student admissions related queries
    • Evaluates student admissions against the set admission criteria and communicates the appropriate outcomes
    • Liaises with the campus Student Recruitment team during the admission evaluation process and assessment
    • Escalates admission queries to the Senior Admission Officer or Admissions Manager
    • Liaises with the campus Student Recruitment team on the management of admission waitlists

    Student Registration Administration

    • Checks pre-requisites for 1st to 2nd semester

    • Manages the de-registration and transfer process, and thereafter sends to the Finance department for processing
    • Checks the National Senior Certificate (NSC) exception reports on a weekly basis
    • Follows up on all outstanding documentation and uploads once received
    • Determines eligibility and captures academic credits
    • Determines maximum completion time and credit load of such registrations
    • Allocates student grouping in line with campus scheduling requirements
    • Maintains student files for a period of two years before archiving the files in line with the data retention regulations of the Protection of Personal Information Act (PoPIA)

    • Adheres to the established service level agreements of the registration process set by the organisation
    • Drafts letters for current students such as; Proof of Registration letters, Travel letters, Medical Aid letters, Universities South Africa (USAF) letters, SAQA letters and Study Permit letters

    Reports & Other

    • Facilitates continuous communication with the Assistant Registrar in relation to resolving the Registrar related queries

    Programme Manager: Information Technology

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Academic Leadership, Management & Campus Support

    • Overall leadership and management of the School on campus.
    • Manage the interface with the Head of School.
    • Plan resource allocation for the academic operations of all programmes within the School on campus.
    • Review academic results of all students within the School on campus and implement an appropriate teaching and learning strategy for "At risk" students and "At risk" modules.
    • Manage academic counselling and support to students within the school on campus.
    • Report on the academic performance of the School on the campus to Head: Academic, Campus Head and Head of School, and any other relevant national staff member.
    • Drive the implementation of relevant teaching and learning initiatives within the School on campus.
    • Support the development of new programmes for accreditation.
    • Support development of academic material and assessments on programmes within the School by acting as developer, module leader, moderator or head of programme for the Central Academic Team (CAT).
    • Performance management and development of permanent academic staff within the School on campus.
    • Manage lecturer development in consultation with the Teaching and Learning specialist.
    • Ensure representation of the school on the Programme Co-ordination Committee (PCC) calls.
    • Discipline Module Support role.
    • Support the Teaching & Learning Specialist in the management of the peer review process and the internal moderation model.

    • Supervision of students on Honours programmes (where applicable).

    Industry, Professional Management & Building Partnerships

    • Develop and maintain relationships with professional industry to support placement of students, bursaries and sponsorships and access to professional expertise.

    • Organise campus events for the School to promote professional industry relationships.

    Lecturing

    • Lecture up to 100 hours OR 2 modules per semester (including supervision). If engaged in approved formal research activity then you will be required to lecture 1 module per semester.

    Assessment Officer

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Managing and Tracking Assessment Printing

    • Responsible for the steps in the assessment process from point of the Assessment Tracking System (APTS) capturing to receiving crates from Colourtech.
    • Responsible for ensuring that correct orders are placed and fulfilled as per the Assessment Printing Tracking System (APTS).
    • Responsible for ensuring that actual student numbers are updated in the Assessment Printing Tracking System (APTS).
    • Ensure that the student numbers, venue and Invigilator details have been inserted into the Assessment Tracking Printing System (APTS) as per the batching timeline to allow for prepacked assessments being delivered in the Colourtech batches.
    • Responsible for checking the crates contents when they arrive from Colourtech to ensure that all the assessments have been packed and grouped as requested on the Assessment Printing Tracking System (APTS).
    • Informing national office that the centre has completed the Assessment Printing Tracking (APTS) inserts and batch checks and of any discrepancies in the batch and crate checking process.
    • Ensure that the crates and locks are returned to Colourtech timeously after the batch has been checked.

     Invigilator Recruitment and Management

    • Assists with Invigilator training.
    • Co-ordinates the booking of Invigilators.
    • Assist with Invigilating when required.
    • Responsible of reconciling the Invigilator reports pre and post assessment.
    • Logging assessments in and out with Invigilators.

     Pre-Assessment Logistics- Initial and Replacement Assessment

    • Manages all aspects of preparation for upcoming assessments.
    • Informs students when Programme Assessment Schedule is uploaded and available.
    • Ensures the assessments and memos are stored securely in the campus academic safe at all times.
    • Responsible for the preparation of all assessment document.
    • Pre-assessment logistics need to accommodate concession applications.
    • Liaising with the IT department regarding IT assessment set up and preloads which may be required for practical assessments.
    • Manages all assessments being written on campus.
    • Reconcile scripts at the end of each assessment and hands over to the Results Centre for the marking, results capture and moderation process.
    • Ensure all assessments documentation above is up to date at all times and complaint with all assessment and audit processes.
    • Reconciliation of the Invigilator's report that summarises all the necessary and that is batched with scripts for delivery to the lecturer for marking. Any discrepancies must be noted on the Invigilator report and investigated.
    • Management of all aspects of different location approvals.
    • Management of Online Centre student assessments and scripts.

     Non-Exam Condition Assessment Processing

    • Responsible for the set up of student groups and deadlines on SafeAssign and Turnitin as per the Programme Assessment Schedules (PAS).
    • Responsible for the collection of assessments from the assessment submission point on campus.
    • Reconciliation of assignment submission, signing sheet and identifying assignments not submitted through the online plagiarism detection software & handing over the Results Centre.
    • The Assessment Centre is responsible for collecting, collating, grouping and handover to the Results Centre.
    • Manage late assignments in accordance with the Assessments Strategy and Policy.

    Exam Condition Assessment Escalations

    • The Assessment Centre facilitates the resolution of any escalations that may occur during the writing of an exam that relate to the exam paper in particular.
    • Raising queries with Programme Operations Manager (POM) when assessments are running. The Assessment Centre receives communication in respect of Central Academic Team (CAT) decision and responsible for communicating in turn to all students at the various venues in which the assessments are being conducted. If escalations cannot to remedied on site during the assessment this could result in a post assessment remedy by way of a rewrite or a mark adjustment.
    • Communicating query resolution to respective location and alternate venue Invigilators.
    • Manages the escorting of students to the bathroom during assessments.
    • Deals with any issues/ queries that invigilators may raise during assessments.

    Team Support and General               

    • Responsible for ensuring all students notes are captured in the System for Academic Management.
    • An incident report must be completed for any action which results in non compliance in the Assessment Centre for approval on the way forward. (For Action Now (FAN) Report).
    • The Assessment Centre is a secure centre and access in and out of the centre must be logged.
    • Assisting the campus specific projects/events (Graduation, Open Day etc.).
    • Focus group sessions to reflect on the systems of the centre.

    Supervisor: Teaching Experience (Grade 7-12) (Independent Contractor) - Middelburg,

    Job Purpose:

    • The supervisor role will be required to observe student teachers that are studying the PGCE qualification at The IIE. The supervisor is required to visit a student teacher twice at a particular school. One observation will be for one lesson in the Senior Phase (Grade 7-9) and the other for Further Education in Training (Grade 10-12). The supervisor is required to provide developmental feedback and support the student teacher through an 8-week school based work integrated learning.

    Minimum Education Requirements:

    • A minimum of a 4-year BEd degree OR a three year Bachelor’s Degree (i.e., BSC, BCom, BA) + a PGCE
    • Postgraduate Certificate in Education in Senior and Further Education and training (PGCE SP/FET)
    • An Honours (NQF8) and or a master’s degree (NQF9) in Education or a related field will be advantageous.

    Minimum Work Experience Requirements:

    • A minimum of 5 years teaching experience in the associated phase (isenior phase or further education and training phase) in which they will supervise students.

    Lecturer: Mobile Application Scripting (Independent Contractor)

    Minimum Qualification Requirements:
    Ideal

    • 3-year Degree in Computer Science and Information Systems

    Alternatively:

    • 3-year Diploma with a similarly related field to the third year level​​

    Minimum Work Experience Requirements:

    • ​Lecturing experience in programming web and mobile applications
