IC Talent Pool- School Of IT at IIE MSA and IIE Varsity College

The IIE's Varsity College, Pietermaritzburg Campus is looking to expand its database of lecturers for the following modules:

• Network Engineering 1A (NWEG5111)
• Programming 1A (PROG512)
• Programming Logic and Design (PRLD5121)
• Mathematical Principles for Computer Science (MAPC5112)

Minimum Education Requirements:

Network Engineering 1A (NWEG5111)

Ideal:

• Honours in Information Systems/ Computer Science/Information Technology / Computing / Engineering (with IT, Data/Telecommunications, or similarly related modules)

 Alternatively:

• Honours degree in one of the IT/computer related fields with networking or a similarly related field to the third year level.
• Bachelor degree with networking or a similarly related field to the third year level PLUS a postgraduate diploma in a related field or in education.

Programming 1A (PROG512)

Ideal:

• Honours degree in Information Systems/ Computer Science

Alternatively:

• Honours degree in similarly related fields with programming or a similarly related field to the third year level.

Programming Logic and Design (PRLD5121)

Ideal:

• A Bachelor degree in Information Systems/ Computer Science

Alternatively:

• A Bachelor degree in similarly related fields with programming or a similarly related field to the third year level.

Mathematical Principles for Computer Science (MAPC5112)

Ideal:

• Any Honours degree with Mathematics up to the third year level.

 Alternatively:

• Honours in one of the Science related fields (e.g. Computer Science, physical science etc.) – with Statistics/ Mathematics to a third year level
• Bachelor degree with Statistics/ Mathematics or a similarly related field (e.g. entrepreneurship, risk, supply chain or project management) to the third year level PLUS either an MBA or a postgraduate diploma in education

Minimum Work Experience Requirements:

Network Engineering 1A (NWEG5111)

• Lecturing experience in network design/network infrastructure/network architecture/IT security.
• Work experience in systems engineer/network manager/infrastructure manager.
• Ideally, lecturing experience at tertiary level.
• Previous lecturing experience within tertiary environment is advantageous.
• Current industry knowledge is essential.

Programming 1A (PROG512) and Programming Logic and Design (PRLD5121)

• Lecturing experience in programming.
• Work experience as a software developer/application developer/ programmer.
• Previous lecturing experience within tertiary environment is advantageous.
• Current industry knowledge is essential.

Mathematical Principles for Computer Science (MAPC5112)

• Lecturing of Mathematics up to the second year.
• Ideally, lecturing experience at tertiary level.
• Previous lecturing experience within tertiary environment is advantageous.
• Current industry knowledge is essential.
