    Account Manager KZN (Talent Pool)

    WHAT'S THE ROLE?

    • We’re looking for an Account Manager based in Durban, who will take ownership of market share for Hilti for all activities in the assigned territory, and further develop profitable sales, in our Building Construct This is no ordinary sales job - ours is a uniquely high performing and supportive working culture. This vacancy exists for future talent pipeline/bench.
    • These are “bench-roles” which exists for the purpose of talent pipeline creation to address our future hiring needs as they become active.

    WHAT DOES THE ROLE INVOLVE?

    • You will take the ownership in the assigned territory to develop sales by utilizing all elements of our sales process to effectively analyze, implement and control the opportunities within the territory to achieve the assigned targets for defined territory or market segment.
    • You will also build fruitful working relationships with all levels - partners, contractors, system integrators & end users, and actively manage and develop the growth of key products within the sales territory by targeting the appropriate customer groups and ensure successful introduction of new products. You will ensure the appropriate level of coverage is given to both buying and potential customers within the customer platform, to develop profitable growth.
    • You will actively and effectively demonstrate, service, train, and (where appropriate) test Hilti products; and to be successful you must understand the market thoroughly and know the players, therefore you will obtain information on competition, market price levels, new launches, seminars, new outlets, quality issues, product deliveries and report in monthly reports

    WHAT YOU NEED IS:

    • Further education/postgraduate qualification, an engineering/technical qualification is a plus (Civil/Mechanical/Industrial)
    • Working industry experience in sales is advantageous
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Enthusiasm to learn, with a strong drive to consistently meet performance targets
    • An agile approach to solving problems, with a solution-oriented mind-set

    Field Engineer (Talent Pool)

    WHAT'S THE ROLE?

    • We’re looking for Field Engineer with a background in Civil/Structural Engineering to join our Engineering team. But this is no ordinary engineering job, as ours is a uniquely high-performing and supportive working culture.
    • These are “bench-roles” which exists for the purpose of talent pipeline creation to address our future hiring needs as they become active.

    WHAT DOES THE ROLE INVOLVE?

    Role Responsibilities:

    • As a Field Engineer you would be responsible for securing technical business through project specifications and technical support by regular planned calls to various stakeholders within the mining and construction industry to attain profitable growth. You would also be responsible for coordinating all necessary efforts to ensure the conversion of your specifications into sales as well as assisting the sales teams with technical support on large mining projects. Far from traditional cold calling, it’s about nurturing relationships with customers, and helping them find the most innovative and cost-efficient solutions for their needs.

    Your responsibilities will include the following:

    • Maximize the sales potential of Hilti products and services through project specifications and conversion of sales opportunities with selected customer groups and mining projects.
    • Maximize the sales and application opportunities in a defined list of key regional mining projects through project management of all activities, and coordination of all engineering & sales resources.
    • Develop, analyse, and manage business plans related to the customer database to effectively maintain and grow sales
    • Demonstrate consultative selling and value engineering skills
    • Build relationships with our stakeholders, and help them find the most innovative and cost-efficient solutions for their needs
    • Provide engineering support and coverage to a defined group of designers, both consulting engineers and focused customers, to gain specifications, through providing Hilti’s differentiated engineering service.
    • Provide technical support and training to Hilti sales team and our customers, to always ensure the delivery of a high-quality engineering support service.
    • Develop strong relationships with the technical decision makers to assure a high degree of success in achieving favorable Hilti solution specifications and within the mining segment.
    • Attainment of specifications, engineering standards and drive conversion of sales opportunities through regular planned calls with consultants, contractors within the assigned segments through submittals, design proposals, and on-site technical support.
    • Work hand in hand with sales team to solve contractors’ issues using Hilti engineering products and assist them to close sales opportunities for engineered products as well as proactively generate new business opportunities.
    • Additional duties as assigned 

    WHAT YOU NEED IS:

    To be successful in this role, you will need:

    • Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering.
    • Minimum of 3 years post graduate experience in the construction, mining or the oil & gas industry gained either in a design office or on site.
    • Good knowledge of the mining, oil & gas, construction industry and the design process of all relevant technical disciplines associated with Hilti applications/products.
    • Be able to identify and show an understanding of industry needs and gaps.
    • Strong presentation skills and highly proficient in MS Office
    • High performer who has an achiever mentality, career driven, self-disciplined and supportive team player with high ethical values,
    • Well-developed business acumen
    • Be willing to travel

    Account Manager Rental Specialist (Talent Pool)

    WHAT DOES THE ROLE INVOLVE?

    • As a Rental Account Manager, you will build relationships with your customers, understand their business needs and establish a plan, aligned to the strategic elements of the organisation, to grow and develop your territory. You will stay close to the various people and departments within your customer’s business – from the workshop technicians to the hire consultants as well as have frequent discussions with business owners.
    • Our sales model is about professional consultative selling, and it’s a hands-on job. In many ways you will demonstrate some of the most pioneering products in the industry, while also promoting Hilti Services, manage frequent customer queries, optimize your calendar and administration efficiently and collaborate with departments across the Hilti organization to bring the customer top-in-class after-sales service. Far from traditional cold calling, it’s about nurturing relationships with people, and helping them find the most innovative and cost-efficient solutions for their businesses.

    WHAT YOU NEED IS:

    • Minimum 2 - 3 years Sales experience
    • B2B, Key Account Manager or National Account manager experience (involving longer sales cycle, large deals and multiple stakeholders)
    • Strong CRM understanding, preferably Salesforce.
    • Strong operational, process, time management and administrative skills
    • Possible experience in any of the following industries; Hire, Construction, Engineering, Services Installation, Retail, Mechanical/Electrical
    • Negotiation, Listening, Communication (English written and verbal) and Presentation Skills
    • Microsoft Office proficiency
    • Tertiary education preferred.
