    Unit Manager-Neonatal (NICU)

    Job Summary:

    To plan, monitor, coordinate and oversee the Unit’s operations and processes to ensure quality patient care and the overall running of the unit including but not limited to managing the ward clerks, RN, EN and ENA’s roles and responsibilities. Take responsibility for the mentoring, coaching, training and development of nursing staff and managing the Unit budget and ensuring cost saving and stakeholder engagement.

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

    • Cur in General Nursing.
    • Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRR) certification
    • BLS
    • Cur Clinical Nursing Science Neonatal Nursing Science
    • Nursing Administration
    • 3+ years’ experience at a managerial/supervisory level.
    • Experienced in Neonatal Nursing / care
    • Experience within a private hospital environment advantageous

    Minimum Job Requirements:

    • Plan and organise multiple work outputs by assigning tasks and priorities and continuously reviewing objectives and goals in line with the Unit standards.
    • Manage the provision of round the clock care to premature and severely ill new-born infants.
    • Oversee the Performing of essential medical procedures such as inserting intravenous lines, performing tests and administering medications.
    • Manage ward clerks, RNs, RNAs as well as ENAs within area of accountability and drive service optimisation.
    • Report, analyse and manage customer relations in the Unit including feedback on patient experience and satisfaction and implement improvement opportunities
    • Advocate for and encourage the provision of emotional support to parents and family members of infants in the Neonatal ward
    • Conduct on the job training, coaching and mentoring to direct reports to ensure development of team and improvement of overall service delivery.
    • Oversee the detailed recording of medical consumables to ensure accurate billing
    • Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings, review, discuss and co-ordinate best approach to overall patient care.

    Porter

    Job Summary:

    To take responsibility for the safe and efficient transportation and transferring of patients between various areas of the hospital and ensuring the safe movement of medical equipment.

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

    • Grade 12 or equivalent
    • 1 year’s experience in a hospital setting

    Minimum Job Requirements:

    • Take direction from the relevant department/unit in relation to patient transfer duties.
    • Perform porter duties on time and at the designated place of duty.

    Credit Contoller

    Job Description

    • To minimize the financial risk of the company by ensuring maximum collection of outstanding debt. The incumbent will take responsibility for the credit portfolio allocated, however would contribute to the overall collections and performance of the team.

    Job Requirements:

    • Grade 12.
    • Credit Administration or Credit Management Diploma.
    • Basic bookkeeping or accounting qualification advantageous.
    • 2+ years’ experience in collections/ credit control environment.
    • Prior private hospital experience advantageous.
    • Ability to grasp Medical Scheme rules and requirements.
    • Computer proficiency – Excel & SAP system.

    Critical Outputs:

    • Work within set collections targets and collect outstanding debt to ensure bad debt is kept to a
    • Prioritize collection of high value accounts in line with Medical Scheme payment
    • Escalate account queries and issues to Collections Manager immediately, if this cannot be personally
    • Escalate account queries to Financial Manager/Case Manager at hospital level for
    • Ensure hospitals have provided feedback alternatively follow up on outstanding issues until resolution achieved – escalate to Collections Manager were assistance is
    • Liaise with legal representatives regarding outstanding accounts / bad debt, where applicable.
    • Access Medical Scheme websites (where applicable) to monitor monies paid v outstanding and update SAP system as required
    • Contact Medical Schemes to obtain outstanding remittance and address over-payments and short-payments.
    • Contact private patients to follow up on outstanding payments or payments to be made daily prior to
    • Follow up on payment of monies due from patients if Medical Scheme Benefit Limits have been
    • Review and understand age analysis in terms of managing debtors’
    • For COID, daily contact required with COID in terms of meeting submission requirements (i.e. all required documentation is available and submitted) and regarding outstanding payments.

    Sherq Officer

    Job Summary

    • To take accountability for the safety, health, environment, risk and quality assurance aspects of hospital operations by ensuring full compliance, of all staff in the workplace, with health and safety standards through identification, prevention and control of hospital risks including infection control. In addition, the incumbent will co-ordinate work systems to ensure that the services of the hospital meet the highest health and safety standards, according to legal requirements, and that the working conditions of employees are favorable and safe.

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

    • Nursing degree/diploma, Current South African Nursing Council (SANC) registration mandatory.
    • Risk Management Certificate
    • 3 - 5 years’ experience in a similar environment
    • Current BLS accreditation
    • Knowledge of scope of practice for nursing in SA
    • Patient care
    • Quality management

    Minimum Job Requirements:

    • Perform all duties in accordance with South African Nursing Council (SANC), Department of Health (DOH) and National Core Standards.
    • Develop and co-ordinate the yearly SHERQ action plan and longer term SHERQ roadmap, prepare monthly reports on progress and present feedback at Group forums.
    • Coordinate with management and staff on policy review and implementation.
    • Support Hospital Manager in the annual review of National Core Standards to ensure compliance.
    • Liaise with relevant HR Business Partner in order to initiate and coordinate a training plan and updating information for personnel, audit and DOH requirements.
    • Assist in retaining all current quality accreditations and work towards the attainment of new quality accreditations.
    • Compile relevant SHERQ reports and progress on all incidents and accident investigations and report back to Hospital Management and Head Office with recommendations and timelines.
    • Ensure accurate reporting and compliance with overall legislation and COID, including investigations and findings within the prescribed standards.
    • Formulate and maintain updated guidelines and procedures for prevention, identification and control of infection at hospital level as well as corrective actions such as isolation precautions.
    • Develop and maintain updated risk register including actions to mitigate risks whilst maintaining accurate reporting and record keeping of all SHERQ activities.
    • Facilitate all forms of risk assessment e.g.: general, manual handling, radiation exposure, fire prevention and acts as final authority where a specialist response is required in relation to risk assessments performed by others on site
    • Monitor absenteeism and staff trends following an incident, and address according to company policies and procedures e.g. needle-stick injuries and exposure to body fluids.
    • Ensure that all staff have required personal protective equipment (PPE) for specific jobs.
    • Conduct environmental, hygiene and patient safety checks within the ward taking prompt action when required, to meet set clinical quality standards according to agreed policies and procedures.

    Registered Nurse Surgical Ward

    Job Summary:

    • To promote and deliver quality patient care and wellness in accordance with industry standards and to execute Nursing duties within the standards, procedures and protocols set down by the South African Nursing Council and Scope of Practice. The incumbent will collaborate with Doctors, multi-disciplinary team members and the community in providing holistic support to patients and their family and loved ones whilst supervising allocated team members, within a specialized unit. 

    Minimum Qualifications and experience:

    • Nursing degree / diploma.
    • Current registration with South African Nursing Council.
    • BLS qualification.
    • 2 to 3 years’ relevant Nursing experience in Surgical ward.

    • Computer proficiency.

    Minimum Duties:

    • Perform nursing duties in accordance with the South African Nursing Council (SANC), Department of Health (DOH) and National Core standards.
    • Adhere to the principles and standards of patient advocacy according to the SANC Acts and Omissions, Company Code of Conduct, Patient Rights and Responsibility Charter, Code of Conduct, Patient Rights and Responsibility Charter, National Millennium Development goals and the responsibility of continuous professional development (CPD). Supervise, organise, lead and control quality of care work for self and team adhering to therapeutic standards and goals.
    • Actively participate in internal and external auditing processes, for example DOH, National Core Standards, SHERQ, SANC and Risk Audits.
    • Document and maintain accurate files and records of patient medication and conduct ward rounds including accompanying Doctors and other Medical Practitioners for creating and evaluating customized care plans including implementing.
    • Monitor activities of nurses to ensure compliance with protocols, security, safety of patient environment, Group Nursing policies and procedures, SANC requirements on findings through regular unit rounds
