    Front-End Development Engineer, AWS Support

    Job Description

    • AWS' Kumo Case Console team is seeking Front-End Engineers (FEE’s) to create beautiful customer facing products and innovate to improve experiences for millions of users. The Case Console Development team is based in Cape Town, South Africa.
    • Our mission is to enable agents to solve customer issues as fast and effectively as possible. We use rich data drawn from customer and product research as well as real time analytics to monitor and anticipate our customers’ needs. We then design and build innovative solutions for our customers using the latest web based technologies.
    • In this role, you will develop new features and improvements for the Case Console, working with your team, product managers and UX designers to build web-based products that delight our customers. You will own customer facing features through the entire life-cycle, from design, implementation, testing, deployment and into production. You will work to optimize applications for performance and reliability.
    • From your first months in the Case Console, you will design and develop new features, ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and optimize applications for speed and scalability. You will also have opportunities to collaborate with team members and stakeholders as you learn to own the quality and operational reliability of our products.
    • As a FEE, you will develop an understanding of what customers do and why they do it to ensure that solutions meet their needs and are fit for purpose. You will leverage your experience to make trade-offs between usability, performance, internationalization and localization, cross-browser compatibility, obfuscation, optimization, and cutting edge customer interface implementation.
    • You will work with UI Designers on website interfaces and utilize user interface design patterns to solve business problems with highly accessible and usable web applications. You will leverage your working knowledge of UI design principles to build new interfaces. There will be opportunities for you to showcase you understanding of how web applications work and perform, as well as your experience with troubleshooting and problem analysis.
    • You will write high quality, maintainable, and robust code that functions well across browsers by drawing from your working knowledge of the latest UI technologies, frameworks and concepts including HTML 5, REST, jQuery, AJAX, CSS3, SOA and responsive design.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
    • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
    • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
    • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

    Physical Security - Systems Program Manager, Data Center Physical Security Operations Manager

    Job Description

    • The position is responsible for the design, installation and integration of security systems equipment including, but not limited to, Access Control/Intrusion Detection and CCTV Surveillance systems.
    • The ideal candidate for the role will be willing and able to work in all related disciplines, at all levels; from technology research to system design and layout, oversight of construction and implementation, as well as maintenance and upgrades over the life of the system. You will have an in-depth knowledge of security technology, be innovative, highly organized, and will have demonstrated the ability to deliver results on time and within budget.

     

    • The SPM is a key member of the EMEA Security team and reports to the in country Cluster Security Manager. The SPM supervises the compliance of physical security standards, manages Physical Security Projects, serves on cross functional teams and is considered one of the Subject Matter Experts in all facets of Physical Security.

     

    • The SPM's ultimate success will be measured by how they assist with the development, implementation and commissioning of standardized security infrastructure systems for the AWS region. This is measured by agreed upon objectives and metrics related to key areas such as the level and quality of customer service provided, access control effectiveness, and the protection of our customers data, employees and visitors. The position is responsible for observing Physical Security Standards and Programs that support the goals of the Global Physical Security Team while enabling the local site managers to draw related services from the team, in a self-service manner.

    This includes:

    • Provide technical leadership for large-scale security engineering projects, coordinate security system design specifications and change management between internal teams and external vendors.
    • Excellent project management skills are required with ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should have experience in prioritizing tasks effectively and working seamlessly across organizational boundaries.
    • Securing the compliance of physical security project standards, project Scopes of Work, budgets and timelines.
    • Designs, develops, and implements solutions for system installations, upgrades, repairs and change outs.
    • Support security system equipment commissioning.
    • Completing the final Test and Acceptance of security systems.
    • Build and deploy training programs for all users of physical security systems.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    • 3 to 7 years of experience in managing the operation and installation of regional and/or global physical security systems.
    • Experience as a Physical Security Program Manager for large and complex installation.
    • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, BlueBeam or other design tools.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Extensive experience in corporate security and workplace safety.
    • CPP, PSP or CISSP Certification.
    • 5 to 10 years of experience in managing security professionals or security monitoring centers.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • As a Team Lead you will be responsible for shift execution and team's supervision and engagement in your area of the Fulfillment Centre. Along with your manager and with line operators, you'll work closely to ensure that the assigned department is performing in line with the plan and that customer expectations are met, if not exceeded. A core part of your responsibilities will be to ensure that the team perform efficiently to fulfill customer order while adhering to safety and quality guidelines. This includes taking care of your team and creating an engaging working atmosphere, and addressing barriers faced by line operators throughout the shift and adjusting shift plan to account for any last minute changes.
    • The right candidate will demonstrate a good sense of ownership, ability to lead by example in all key areas of performance including safety and quality, and ability to develop a subject matter expertise on all operations processes in their assigned department.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Create and cultivate a safety culture by identifying safety opportunities across your work area
    • Ensure that customer orders are fulfilled per quality guidelines
    • Continuously provide critical shift related information to frontline management and operators
    • Adjust labor allocation within assigned department throughout the shift per latest plan
    • Drive proactive actions as communicated by manager to remove barriers impacting good shift performance
    • Engage with support functions and/or other departments to address common issues or needs in key areas of performance e.g. process area readiness, 5S, safety, training
    • Support customers' order fulfillment by working directly and on a regular basis on operations tasks within your department
    • Deliver coaching and feedback to line operators related to productivity and quality performance, and safe behaviors
    • Develop subject matter expertise on all operations processes in assigned department

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    • High school or equivalent
    • Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
    • Can lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • 1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience
