    Consultant Automation Engineer/Technologist - Glenvista

    Job Advert Summary    

    • To assist the Automation Asset Manager to act as the custodian for automation plants and sub-plants of the water supply infrastructure. This individual is responsible for ensuring that these assets are specified, installed, operated, and maintained to provide expected levels of service at minimum lifecycle cost.

    Minimum Requirements    
    Essential (must-have) qualifications are:

    • Formal engineering qualifications (MTech, MEng, MScEng degree)
    • Professional Registration with the Engineering Council of SA
    • 6 to 10 years’ experience in industrial automation (measurement, control and instrumentation)engineering / infrastructure management
    • Minimum of 3 years’ management experience

    Desirable qualifications are:

    • Advanced Management Programme
    • Membership of a fraternal voluntary association

    Primary Duties    

    • Assist the Automation Asset Manager to lead and manage all activities of the section that will result in optimal lifecycle performance of the specific category of assets
    • Assist the Automation Asset Manager to develop, compile, execute and manage the section business plan that supports the departmental and divisional business plan
    • Assist the Automation Asset Manager to develop and maintain generic standards for asset performance and availability, maintenance regimes, rates of deterioration, lifespan, etc.
    • Provide and update plans and costs for the management of each asset, for incorporation into the integrated Asset Management Plan
    • Manage and lead the process relating to the review and improvement of standards and specifications for the asset category

    Manage asset assessors and maintenance staff in:

    • Condition assessment and performance measurement of assets to agreed standards and frequencies
    • Regular audits of maintenance activities
    • Providing a maintenance support service to operating sites
    • Manage, specify and review improvements to design specifications, operating and maintenance regimes.
    • Review and approve specification and design of new assets to ensure lifecycle performance is adequately addressed
    • Develop and prepare annual budget for Automation asset management, and practice financial management and control
    • Assist the Automation Asset Manager to manage the development of staff by monitoring performance, coaching and mentoring, career path and succession planning
    • Initiate and lead Automation asset management related projects
    • Direct and lead technical advances and world class expertise for the category of asset
    • People and resource management by monitoring performance of staff and implement succession planning
    • Effective management and monitoring the section’s budget to ensure actual expenses against budgeted amount and delegate action on variances
    • Create and encourage a culture of teamwork, and achievement, through the application of frequent feedback and communication with staff and promote employment equity

    Environmental Compliance Manager - Glenvista

    Job Advert Summary    

    • Reporting to the Senior Manager: Project Planning, the incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the environmental performance of the organisation and ensuring that compliance to environmental legislation is met.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Formal Environmental qualifications (BSc/BTech degree)
    • Minimum 5 years in Environmental and WULA Process
    • Professional Registration (eligibility to be registered) with the SACNASP/EAPASA

    Integrity and Probity Assurance Auditor - Johannesburg South

    Job Advert Summary    

    • Rand Water is currently looking for an Intergrity and Probity Assurance Auditor to Initiate pro-active probity, integrity and assurance audits / investigations into processes, procedures and practices within the organization in order to establish compliance to policies and procedures.     Minimum Requirements    
    Essential qualifications are:

    • A qualification in Forensic Auditing, Accounting, Legal or Auditing. (B-Tech Forensic, Relevant Audit, accounting or Legal qualifications) or other relevant tertiary qualification, preferably in Forensic, Compliance/Audit.
    • Certified Fraud Examiner
    • A minimum of 8 years practical experience in investigating fraud and other white collar crimes in corporate environment.
    • Extensive experience (at least five years practical) in presenting and prosecuting forensic findings in internal disciplinary hearings and external CCMA and other labour cases.
    • Extensive experience in compiling forensic / audit findings in a standard suitable for use at disciplinary hearings, criminal and civil proceedings.
    • Associated to relevant association or professional body (i.e.: Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, International Association of Financial Crime Investigators.)

    Desirable qualifications (added advantage) are:

    • Understanding of a GREC Based Audit Approach

    • Initiating Pro-Active audits into identified white collar crime risk areas within the Rand Water Group. Providing specialist white collar crime risk management input to the multi- disciplined team that detects criminal activity that is likely to result in serious loss to the organisation.

    Knowledge    

    • Fully computer literate with specialist knowledge of financial systems, forensic and accounting data mining and detection systems.
    • Extensive knowledge of the Laws of Criminal Procedure and Evidence and relevant Labour Legislation.
    • Thorough working knowledge of Information Management Systems and procedures.
    • Extensive specialist knowledge of white collar and other corporate crimes.
    • Extensive knowledge of all applicable legislation such as the Corruption Act, Proceeds of Crime, Money Laundering, Public Entities legislation and Basic conditions of employment act.
