    Assistant Operations Manager | Funeral Insurance Sector (JB291)

    R30 000 - 35 000 per month

    Management experience of 50+ staff

    Kontak Recruitment is currently sourcing and recruiting for an Assistant Operations Manager with experience in the Insurance sector, specifically Funeral Cover to join their client based in Johannesburg CBD.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Previous management experience within the Insurance Sector with a focus on Funeral policies
    • RE5
    • You will be required to oversee the management of policy services, in conjunction with the Operations Manager, which includes Call Centre, Claims, Data Management and Premium Administration. This will include:
    • Implementation of business strategies
    • Ensure good governance, risk management and compliance
    • Conduct KPI's for departmental managers, team leaders and supervisors and oversee performance assessments staff reporting into them
    • Research, design & implementation of best practice customer-centric solutions in conjunction with the Operations Manager
    • Check and authorize claims & refunds within the provided mandate, promptly and accurately
    • Submit analysed monthly operations report and stats accurately and promptly
    • Provide input for budgeting purposes & aid in the adherence to set budgets
    • Sign-off on submission of leave/overtime on VIP ESS across Policy Services areas, ensure areas are sufficiently staffed at all times

    Job requirements Operations Manager:

    • Strong analytical skills
    • Good communication skills
    • Excellent leadership skills
    • BCOM finance, business management, marketing or similar is preferred
    • Own transport & valid unendorsed license
    • 15+ years relevant experience with 7+ years having been in a Management capacity
    • 7 + years Retail chain experience

    Responsibilities and duties

    • Liaise with Managers who are responsible for 3 sites throughout JHB North
    • Report to management executives on a weekly and monthly basis
    • Coordinate, monitor, and manage various multi-purpose sites within a JHB North
    • Improve regional processes, policies, and practices so as to achieve company’s goals and ensure regional stores adhere to company-wide laid down rules and guidelines
    • Help improve the efficiency of support services like communication channels and IT; and also ensure free flowing communication amongst all employees and management team
    • Work hand-in-hand with top management (serving as a link between them and the individual stores) in order to develop and implement new plans/ideas that will enhance the operations of the company at large
    • Plan and support marketing and sales activities
    • Perform regular site visits to ensure that they are fully operational;
    • Provide top management team with regular updates pertaining to financials and general operations
    • Conduct year end performance reviews

    Global teaching centre is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee all aspects of the teaching schedules for their online teaching team.  With over 25 000 hours of online teaching services provided monthly by approximately 250 teachers, with an expected growth of 200 additional freelance teachers in 2021, a candidate with exceptional organisational skills and the ability to multi-task is required.

    Minimum requirements

    Key Responsibilities for Operations Manager:

    Schedule Management

    • Weekly assignment of classes and hours of work for both in-centre and freelance teachers
    • Communicate and Coordinate with the Operations Teams in Switzerland and Shanghai
    • Work closely with the Academic teams to prioritize special projects and Academic initiatives
    • Analyze KPI results and schedule date to communicate forecast and needs to the internal Recruitment teams
    • Be accountable for center wide operational KPI’s and targets

    Schedule Support

    • Manage and execute leave applications with the Teacher Operations team
    • Manage shift changes with the Teacher Operations and Center Management teams
    • Manage ad hoc schedule changes (illness, emergencies, international support, special teams, etc.)

    Support Special Projects

    • Work with international centers and manage the local team to provide schedule support
    • Manage special projects and training needs in conjunction with the Academic and Teacher Ops team
    • Manage the impact of ASOT projects and training on the local schedule
    • Work together with an academic support team to ensure adequate support and remediation plans for teachers

    Teacher satisfaction and retention

    • Facilitate Employee Wellness survey, review data and adjust working conditions based on the response
    • Track teacher retention and attrition data
    • Grow teacher satisfaction and retention
