    Senior Specialist: Integration DevOps Engineer

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    • The Integration DevOps Engineer is responsible for the design and implementation of service integration processes and tools to enable continuous integration and continuous delivery, maximizing the speed and quality of delivery across teams.  
    • The role is responsible for automating build, release, deployment, and configuration activities for the Middleware Integration space. 
    • This role will be working closely with DevOps Management, QA, and Systems Engineers to understand the solution requirements to support and operate accordingly.
    • This role must be flexible to constant business and technology change, with the ability to interact, engineer, and communicate collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.
    • The role is responsible for building, enforcing and optimising the CICD pipeline rules and governance to increase quality and faster time to market.
    • The role is responsible for KPI management via building platforms that supports and ensures mandates of uptime, latency, resilience and security are met and are consistently above mandated levels.
    • The role trend analysis identifying recurring issues and root causes while implementing preventative measures or mechanisms to identify issues faster.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • This role is responsible for working closely with software, QA, and systems engineers to understand requirements and prototype, architect, implement, operate and update DevOps solutions accordingly.
    • CSI in current platform initiatives improving latency, resilience and preventing recurring outages via Self-Healing platform mechanisms.
    • Security and Audit Management ensuring Patching, Obsolescence, Vulnerability and Auditing requirements are met.

    The Ideal Candidate for this role will have:

    Must have technical / professional qualifications: 

    • Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, Programming, or similar related field is essential
    • 5+ years’ experience designing, developing, testing, and deploying DevOps toolchains to support continuous integration and continuous delivery, using a variety of technologies and environments 
    • 5+ years’ experience working with at least two or more programming languages (e.g., PHP, Java), virtualization (e.g., VMWare), database technologies (e.g., MySQL), and release and configuration management tools (e.g. Chef)
    • 5+ years’ experience working Oracle Middleware Technologies (OSB, SOA, BPM, BAM, WebLogic) & Oracle Content Management (WCC)
    • 5+ years experience and knowledge of the telecommunications industry is essential.
    • Operational experience in supporting and maintaining large scale enterprise Middleware applications.

    Specialist: Systems Analyst

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    • The incumbent will be responsible for having a huge impact on everything from the functionality we deliver for our customers, to the design and architecture of our systems, to the algorithms, code we employ and mapping business requirements into system functionality. Moreover, understand the business requirements, to create technology solutions and designs that ensures quality data and systems in support of the business. Solutions must align to IT best practices and support the availability expectations of the portfolio. Documentation standards must be maintained and enhanced as required.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Technical Analysis 

    • Analyse requirements in terms of feasibility, impact and cost with a focus on re-use of an approach or solution
    • Contribute to lower costs by performing in-depth analysis of solutions
    • Evaluate proposed solutions from vendors prior to development and ensure that the most feasible solution that meets the business requirements is selected
    • Ensure the technical solution meets business requirements by participating in design workshops and mapping solution back to the requirements

    Principle Specialist: Mergers & Acquisitions

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    • Development of strategic priorities and business development opportunities for Vodacom Group.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Evaluate merger and acquisition opportunities    

    • Responsible for the assessment of potential mergers and acquisitions, including, performing quantitative and qualitative analysis

    Develop M&A proposals    

    • Assist with the preparation of M&A proposals for board/exco review and decision
    • Liaise with Vodacom Group M&A team, with internal technical specialists (legal, tax, etc.) and operating company business line leaders, as necessary.
    • Agree proposals to be escalated with ME: M&A 
    • Facilitate discussions and workshops with the various OpCo leaders to develop strategic M&A plans.

    Evaluate disinvestments    

    • Evaluate selected disinvestment proposals based on internal directives
    • Analyse financial statements of potential acquisition targets
    • Lead or assist with due diligence of potential target acquisitions 
    • Lead or assist the deal team through the deal negotiation process

    Develop the disinvestment proposal    

    • Together with M&A team, prepare the disinvestment proposal liaising with Vodacom business heads, internal technical specialists and business heads, as appropriate.
    • Develop detailed financial and valuations models

    Customers, Suppliers & Third parties    

    • Engagement and contracting of external parties

    Partner with business

    • Activity drive the operating companies strategy in executing value  enhancing transactions
    • Be part of the engagement model in the operating companies and be the first point of contact within the operating companies for any M&A related activity
    • Prepare presentation materials for various exec  utive meetings
    • Follow governance process to obtain the required approvals to execute the deal
    • Provide input into internal presentations, Exco reports, Board reports and other pieces of analysis on an ad-hoc basis

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • Post Graduate degree, preferably MBA or CPA
    • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a financial role, corporate finance, investment banking or financial services.

    Technical / Professional Expertise

    • Corporate finance/advisory experience coupled with tax and legal knowledge
    • Working knowledge of economics
    • Knowledge of national policies, regulations, etc., affecting mergers and acquisitions (socio-economic policies, BEE environmental laws, Competition Commission, etc.) plus knowledge of current affairs.
    • Must be able to model cashflows and prepare executive level presentations.

    Principal Specialist: Technology Assurance and Governance

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    • Signature Programmes - To drive signature technology assurance initiatives from a strategy, governance, risk & compliance perspective and managing risk expectations across all delivery phases.
    • Technology Governance - Lead the Governance and Reporting work across Vodacom South Africa as it relates to King IV by developing a strategy to ensure that all Technology BUs follow a Technology Governance Framework. Subsequently report on this to forums such as Technology Assurance Steerco, Audit, Risk and Compliance Committees.
    • Continuous Assurance - To drive the automation opportunities across technology to reduce the risk factor and standardise controls across divisions.
    • Controls Implementation - To successfully coordinate the effective implementation of robust compliance standards to ensure standardization and simplification across people, processes, and systems. 
    • Subject Matter Expert (SME) - To fulfil the role of SME for Technology Governance, Risk and Controls requirements and initiatives within the Technology function.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Perform reviews on technology processes, systems, infrastructure, and network infrastructure across the Cyber Security and GITC environments with the aim of proactively enhancing the control environment. 
    • Support and guide senior management on recommendations for closure of high-risk items.
    • Design and lead the implementation of controls across the Cyber Security and GITC environments within Technology and related processes.
    • Lead a team to implementation Continuous Assurance techniques across the Cyber Security and GITC environments.
    • Manage the end-to-end senior stakeholder relationship across Technology, providing proactive support and guidance to senior stakeholders (MEs, CIO and CTO) on the management of technology risks through robust controls. 
    • Server as a domain lead and subject matter expert for end-to-end governance related matters within a specific Technology domain. 
    • Process Governance and Quality – Design, implement and monitor policies, processes, procedures as required.

    The Ideal Candidate for this role will have:

    Must have technical / professional qualifications: 

    • Overall experience – at least 5-8 years
    • At least 5 – 8 years’ experience in leading risk, assurance, controls, and compliance management in a technology environment 
    • At least 5-8 years’ experience in Technology Security or a Technology Audit function in a management role would be advantageous.
    • At least 5-8 years’ experience in process definition and management

    Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

    • Providing proactive support and guidance to senior stakeholders 
    • Governance and Reporting
    • Technology Governance in large enterprises (specifically KING IV)
    • Risk Management and control in a Technology environment
    • IT Audit, Risk or Assurance in large enterprises 
    • Relevant Frameworks (COBIT, ITIL, ISO9001, ISO50001, SOX etc) preferable
