    Specialist: Prepaid Support

    Role Purpose:

    • The Specialist is responsible to support, patch, upgrade and monitor recharge management systems. To meet the department’s objectives while maintaining the stability of systems and finding innovative ways to deal with technological changes. The specialist is also required to support business requirements by delivering and supporting products and services. 

    Your responsibilities will include:
     

    Key accountabilities and decision ownership: 

    Technology 

    • Focus on system, application and database support, administration, monitoring and optimisation. Produce and update statistical reports and system documentation.
    • Find effective and efficient means of ensuring that system availability target is achieved. This includes proactive monitoring and detection of problems, improved means of ensuring resilience/redundancy and improved means of restoring service when interruptions to service are experienced.
    • To carry out security patches, system upgrades and implementation of new systems and services. 
    • To compile and distribute job orders as per change management procedures
    • Provide high level support to customer care and 3rd party stakeholders regarding customer queries on prepaid transactions

    Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

    • GSM and telecommunication knowledge
    • Prepaid Voucher management and Recharge knowledge
    • TCP/IP knowledge
    • System and application monitoring
    • Database Administration 
    • Operating Systems – Unix, Linux
       

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • 3 year Diploma/Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology (Essential)
    • 3- 5 years hands on prepaid recharge experience
    • Advanced Experience on the Microsoft Office package, i.e. MS Word, MS Excel and MS Power Point 
    • Advanced Experience in UNIX, LINUX, TCP/IP, SQL
    • Advanced Experience in Database admin on SQL, MySQL and Oracle
