The Position:
We are looking to recruit a Finance Manager to manage the transactional financial functions (with a statutory and compliance focus) reporting directly to the Head of Finance.
Minimum qualification:
CA(SA) is a non-negotiable requirement for this role.
Experience:
3-5 years post-articles experience in a financial manager managing an accounting team
Sound knowledge of accounting fundamental (IFRS)
Proficiency MS Office, especially in Excel
Working knowledge of financial and payroll systems, Microsoft Dynamics will be beneficial
Accountability areas - operating / financial results accountable for (delegated work)
Managing a small team of accounting professionals, you will be accountable for:
Treasury and cash management
Accounts payable - purchase orders, accurate, timeous, and valid payments
Financial accounting / reporting up to trial balance (income statement, balance sheet and cashflow)
Financial statutory reporting
General ledger
Procurement processing (purchase order processing & receipting of goods received)
Reviewing Payroll
Reporting
Operational process outputs (doing the operational work)
Process tax returns
Draft annual financial statements
Manage external audit process
Stakeholder engagement and communications
Stakeholder management
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to improve business performance
Management and Leadership
Management of the team
Operational implementation and execution monitoring
Resource and capacity management (people, equipment, systems, money; assignment and re-allocation of resources between teams;
Problem solving and decision quality, including escalations, queries, and complaints
Processes, policies and procedures (SOP’s) (company financial policies), systems, methodologies, performance standards
Governance and compliance
Leadership
Talent acquisition and onboarding
Individual performance - role clarity and objectives; reviews; feedback; corrective actions
