The Position:

We are looking to recruit a Finance Manager to manage the transactional financial functions (with a statutory and compliance focus) reporting directly to the Head of Finance.

 

Minimum qualification: 

CA(SA) is a non-negotiable requirement for this role.

 

Experience: 

• 3-5 years post-articles experience in a financial manager managing an accounting team

• Sound knowledge of accounting fundamental (IFRS)

• Proficiency MS Office, especially in Excel

• Working knowledge of financial and payroll systems, Microsoft Dynamics will be beneficial

 

Accountability areas - operating / financial results accountable for (delegated work)

 

Managing a small team of accounting professionals, you will be accountable for:

• Treasury and cash management

• Accounts payable - purchase orders, accurate, timeous, and valid payments

• Financial accounting / reporting up to trial balance (income statement, balance sheet and cashflow)

• Financial statutory reporting

• General ledger

• Procurement processing (purchase order processing & receipting of goods received)

• Reviewing Payroll

• Reporting

 

Operational process outputs (doing the operational work)

• Process tax returns

• Draft annual financial statements

• Manage external audit process

 

Stakeholder engagement and communications

• Stakeholder management

• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to improve business performance

 

Management and Leadership

 

Management of the team

 

• Operational implementation and execution monitoring

• Resource and capacity management (people, equipment, systems, money; assignment and re-allocation of resources between teams;

• Problem solving and decision quality, including escalations, queries, and complaints

• Processes, policies and procedures (SOP’s) (company financial policies), systems, methodologies, performance standards

• Governance and compliance
