    Safety Officer - Secunda

    REQUIREMENTS:

    •   Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
    •   PLUS SAMTRAC or equivalent course.
    •   Proof of valid SACPCMP registration.
    •   At least 4 years’ experience in a petrochemical or construction or project environment.
    •   Good people, administrative and communication skills.
    •   Proficient in Microsoft Office
    •   Valid driver’s license (Code B/EB).
    •   Proof of your physical address to ensure local recruitment for Secunda.

    Facilitator/Assessor

    WORK DESCRIPTION:

    A facilitator/assessor will give lessons covering all unit standards of Computer Aided Drawing Office Practice (CAD) NQF level 4 qualification. And will work together with the current team of Facilitators/Assessors and Gola institute management. A facilitator/assessor will further give lessons to covering Occupational certificate: Draughtperson (Piping Draughtperson) SAQA ID 99575 NQF5. This qualification is taught on Saturdays to cater for employees that are working full time.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    •   Qualification in Computer Aided Drawing Practice (CAD).
    •   Knowledge and experience in using CAD.
    •   A teaching qualification/facilitation experience will be an advantage.
    •   Good report writing skills in English language.
    •   Leadership and organizational skills, be able to work independently and in a team, self-starter, “go-getter”.
    •   Good interpersonal relations with the ability to market services.
    •   Organized and self-disciplined.

    Control & Instrumentation - Senior Engineer

    WORK DESCRIPTION:

    Handling technical and engineering challenges that may arise from instrumentation field work being carried out. Drafting of technical specifications for procurement of services and equipment from suppliers. Managing the work load, resource loading, client relations, profitability and quality of work produced in the group.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    •   Minimum of  a B Eng/BSc Eng degree.
    •   Professional registration with ECSA will be an advantage.
    •   At least 5 years’ experience as a Control and Instrumentation Engineer in the petrochemical environment.
    •   Prior Sasol experience will be an advantage.
    •   Be able to work independently and in a team, self-starter, good interpersonal relations, hands-on experience or proper exposure to the implementation of own designs.
    •   Candidates to demonstrate their abilities by means of examples.
    •   First-hand experience of driving to get tasks done. Be able to share by means of examples.
    •   Leadership and organizational skills, be able to work independently and in a team, self-starter, “go-getter”.
    •   Good understanding of general business administration.
    •   Good interpersonal relations with the ability to market services.
    •   Good report writing skills in the English language.
    •   Organized and self-disciplined.
    •   Valid driver’s license with own transport (Code B/EB).

    Mechanical Engineers (For Piping Engineering Division)

    WORK DESCRIPTION:

    Engineers will be exposed to the detail design and engineering of new plants and of solutions to problems experienced with machinery and pressurized equipment in the petrochemical field. Design work will involve the use of various software tools and will also require the engineer to perform calculations based on first principles. With projects execution and especially during plant shutdown periods, engineers will also help the project teams with the project- and construction management.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    •   Minimum of B Eng/BSc Eng degree in Mechanical Engineering (4-year full time study).
    •   Minimum 3 – 8 years’ experience in detail design, drafting or modelling.
    •   Experience in detail design and engineering of equipment with hands-on experience or proper exposure to the manufacturing of own designs. Candidates to demonstrate their abilities by means of examples.
    •   Be able to demonstrate a drive to quality and the balance with schedule pressure.
    •   Applicants must be able to demonstrate a self-drive to get tasks done and to manage the financials for their projects. Be able to share by means of examples.
    •   Leadership and organizational skills, be able to work independently and in a team, self-starter, “go-getter”.
    •   Good interpersonal relations with the ability to market services.
    •   Good report writing skills in the English language.
