    Management Accountant – Foschini / TFG Beauty

    Purpose of the job:

    The management accountant supports the Finance Business Partner in ensuring the effective functioning of the finance function within the division.

    This encompasses support in relation to the commercial and value-adding activities undertaken by the Finance Business Partner, and would typically include the preparation and extract of supporting information or inputs to their analysis. This detail-oriented role includes preparing monthly line-item detail across all stores & sundry CC’s for all income and expense lines for Budgets & Projections.

    The role will act as the principal interface between the division and the Finance CoEs and SSC, and thereby provide inputs or receive and process outputs to/ from those areas.

    The role will also act to perform various finance activities within the division, some of those being either specialist, particular to that division or requiring direct interaction or interface with staff.

    Experience 

    • 3-5 years post qualification experience

    Qualification 

    •  BCom/ Hons Degree in Financial/ Management Accounting
    •  CIMA or equivalent is preferred

     Key Performance Areas:

    • Review and adjust planning working papers received from the Planning and Management Reporting Centre of Excellence;
    • Support the Business Partner in analysing management reports and financial performance of the division against its specific targets;
    • Analyse standard monthly management reports received from the CoE and SSC, and provide interpretation and commentary for the Finance BP review;
    • Support with year-end procedures and reports;
    • Review and adjust OPEX forecasts for the divisions in line with business requirements;
    • Ensure the planning tool accurately reflects actuals and projections for all costs;
    • Ensure charge backs received by the division are accurate and accepted;
    • Populate journal templates and supporting documentation to submit to the Record to Report function within Shared Services (including but not limited to accruals, year-end journals, intercompany entries);
    • Ensure that the inputs to and the management of any assets within the division are provided to the SSC;
    • Perform sundry cost centre management activities;
    • Prepare ad hoc or tailored financial reports required by the division;
    • Perform business unit specific finance activities, or ad hoc finance activities requiring contact or physical interface with colleagues in the divisions;
    • Support the Finance BP with inputs to pricing decisions and adjustments;
    • Support the Finance and Systems Management CoE on new systems or projects requirement gathering, testing and deployment;
    • Ensure that all store turnover targets are available on the required systems for use by the Operations teams;
    • Liaise with the Invoice to Cash function within the Finance SSC to ensure all rebates are captured and processed accurately. 

    Stakeholder Relationships 

    • Support the Finance BP;
    • Act as the interface between the business and the CoE/ SSC;
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive strong interactions and engagements across the finance operating model;
    • Ensure the engagement with relevant internal and external stakeholders within TFG.

    An exciting position has arisen within Jewellery for a Buyer to join the team!
    We are looking for someone who is creative, and dynamic and whose passion far extends that of just a Buying role. Someone who will collaborate with our entire team of buyers, creating a perfect result with our customers in mind.

    Responsibilities:

    • Successfully source and procure a range of Jewellery,
    • Procure and range build appropriate ranges aligned to the strategy with special attention to all trading opportunities.
    • Work closely with the planner, through analysis of previous sales patterns, market trends and brand initiatives.
    • Formulate departmental strategies to maximize sales and then timeously source and secure stock to implement strategies.
    • Negotiate effectively.
    • Build and maintain good relationships with staff, suppliers (both nationally & internationally) and key functions in the business.
    • Think in terms of the "big picture" as well as consider specifics and detail.
    • Assess complex situations and implement workable solutions.

    Requirements:

    • A relevant qualification in Fashion or Business Management
    • Have experience as a Buyer (3+ years essential)
    • Have a high degree of organisation and prioritization skills
    • A working knowledge of the current computer software packages (knowledge of Excel, Word & E-mail would be preferable)
