    Storeman

    Main purpose of the position:

    To receive, store and issue materials and equipment from warehouse/Stores and follow the proper documentation procedure

    Key responsibilities:

    • Taking delivery of goods and supplies
    • Checking for damaged or missing items
    • Storing goods in line with instructions
    • Moving stock around by hand, pallet trolley or a forklift
    • Stock Control/Stock Take
    • Keeping paperwork up to date
    • Resolving discrepancies with finance department
    • Housekeeping and safety awareness
    • Comply with Company Policy and Procedures
    • Receiving and Dispatch of raw/ processed material
    • Stock Control / Stock Taking
    • Determine proper storage methods, identification, environmental factors
    • Examine and inspect stock for items of wear or defects when receiving
    • Prepare and maintain records of inventories.
    • Generate Purchase Requests through the ERP System and follow up on the authorizations.
    • Identification of Mechanical and Electrical spares and do monthly checks.
    • Safety
    • Control of documentation – Goods Receive Notes and Stock Issue Notes

    • Receive and issue out paints from the paint store.

    Electrical Technician

    Description

    An opportunity exists within Safal Steel for an Electrical Technician to be based in Cato Ridge (Kwazulu-Natal). The position reports to the Maintenance and Engineering Manager.

    To provide technical support to plant production and maintenance operations. Assist with training and high-level fault-finding. Perform plant development projects. Drive safety initiatives allocated too.

    • Good knowledge of Electrical Engineering principles, regulations, processes, systems, procedures and practices.
    • Expert knowledge of general maintenance processes and systems.
    • Good understanding of plant processes and procedures.
    • Project and contractor management.
    • Coaching of artisans.
    • Auditing as required
    • Communication (both oral and written) and presentation skills.
    • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
    • Provide Technical Support.
    • Able to work under pressure.
    • Task orientated and natural drive to complete tasks timeously

    BUYER (KWAZULU NATAL)

    Description

    • An opportunity exists within Supa-Roof for a Buyer to be based in Cato Ridge (Kwazulu-Natal). The position reports to the Senior Procurement Officer
    • To be responsible for the placing of and expediting all orders of direct materials used in the manufacture of the products we sell as well as any consumables that company uses to manufacture goods or in the maintenance of the plant.
    • Carry out tasks as delegated by the SCM Management Team in a timeously and accurate manner.
    • Obtain 3 Quotes for all non-standard items where possible.
    • Raise purchase Orders and expedite orders in line with requirements to meet production, planning or stores deadlines.
    • Inform the SCM Management team timeously of any possible line stoppers / Stock outs.
    • Work closely with Finance regarding any payments that may be required especially taking deposits and upfront payments in to consideration for both local and imported goods.
    • Completing vendor application documentation.
    • Cost Savings Initiatives and projects.
    • Negotiating set pricing on standard items.
    • Assessing bids from suppliers and updating Vendors List

    Warehouse Coordinator

    Description

    An opportunity exists within Safal Steel for a Warehouse Coordinator to be based in Cato Ridge (Kwazulu-Natal). The position reports to the Warehouse Manager.

    To support the Warehouse Manager with the day-to-day management of the warehouse operations, customer order fulfilment and associated processes/procedures. Monitor and control warehouse inventory by overseeing, directing and coordinating the movement of stock into and out of the warehouse

    • Coordinate incoming and outgoing inventory deliveries
    • Allocate and organize storage locations according to requirements
    • Sort inventory according to established procedures
    • Mark inventory with identifying information
    • Update and maintain storage database
    • Track and manage inventory by completing regular cycle counts
    • Maintain inventory records and databases
    • Able to maintain FIFO procedures for all material. To advise of material is not used or potentially can expire.
    • Identify potential inventory shortages and communicate with relevant department
    • Coordinate the purchase of new and replenishment inventory
    • Provide regular inventory reports to management
    • Pick and prepare orders to be transferred to requesting departments
    • Ensure proper packaging and labelling of items
    • Process and provide necessary paperwork for stocks

    Supply Chain Analyst

    An opportunity exists within Safal Steel for a Supply Chain Analyst to be based in Cato Ridge (Kwazulu-Natal). The position reports to the Supply Chain Manager.

    To assist the Supply Chain Manager in implementing new and maintaining existing systems used by the Supply Chain function in order to achieve the objectives of the department.

    This position will ensure the ongoing successful and efficient utilization of the company ERP software (SAP S4 Hana) as well as any other digital tool as well as optimizing the inventory level of spare parts, consumables and traded items if relevant] of the Business Unit as well as the cost and effort needed to keep the inventory at an optimal level.

    Internal:

    • Coordinate with Head of Supply Chain and other functional managers for effective data management and implementation of digital technology within the department.
    • Coordinating with IT/SAP team on improvement of the utilization of existing systems as well as for the effective implementation of new systems.
    • Coordinating with users in other departments (sales, marketing, distribution, operations, maintenance) for effective data management and implementation of new software systems
    • Coordinating with procurement on purchase requests for materials/items that need to be replenished as well as materials/items that should be procured through framework contracts
    • Coordinating with stores on stock counts and replenishment settings for materials/items in inventory
    • Coordinating with maintenance and operations on future consumption of materials/items, including preparing for overhauls and understanding historical consumption trends
    • Coordinating with IT/SAP team on matters relating to data required to run inventory control optimization software

      External:

    • Interaction with Solution providers to ensure that desired results are achieved.

    Requirements
    Main purpose of the position:

    Conducting various maintenance, repairs, and modifications in accordance to the company standards and with the aim of improving equipment availability and sustainability.

    Key responsibilities:

    Safety and Housekeeping

    • Ensure compliance with the requirements of Safety, Health and Environmental Standards and Procedures.
    • Maintain a clean, tidy and safe work environment, free of any spillages or obstacles.
    • Monitor and adhere to Safal Steel maintenance standards, working manuals, working instructions and procedures.
    • Ensure all areas of work are kept clean during and after work has been completed.

    Equipment operation and maintenance

    • Perform tasks pertaining to routine, planned, and breakdown work.
    • Conduct inspections on equipment, record data required for notifications, works orders, or job cards, and provide this information to the Mechanical Technician.
    • Conduct planning for tasks. This relates to day plans as well as weekly plans.
    • Conduct training and coaching of Artisan Aids.
    • Conduct the lubrication of plant equipment.
    • Perform repairs, replacements, or modifications tasks on plant and equipment as instructed.
    • Assist in activities according to instruction of the Maintenance Manager, Mechanical Engineer, or Mechanical Technician.
    • Use tools and equipment provided to ensure the completion of any task.
    • Follow all maintenance related processes and procedures and actively participate in any set maintenance program.
    • Report on maintenance activities as required.
    • Check equipment on a regular basis and report observed defects and deviations from the standard maintenance parameters and requirements to the Maintenance Manager, Mechanical Engineer, or Mechanical Technician.
