    Surface Risk Boilermaker

    The Surface Risk Boilermaker is responsible for repairs, maintenance, construction, and fabrication of loading and sorting equipment, conveyors, crusher, tanks, pipes and general equipment in the Metallurgical Plant. Work and task execution is aligned with established safety, engineering and operational standards and procedures to ensure the optimization of plant and equipment efficiencies.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Be in possession of a Grade 12 Matric Certificate or equivalent
    • Be in possession of a valid trade certificate.
    • Be in possession of a valid driver’s licence EB (Code 08).
    • Have at least 3 years’ working experience as a Boilermaker in a Metallurgical Plant environment.
    • Have the relevant knowledge with regards to the Mine Health and Safety Act.
    • Availability and willingness to work rotational shifts and perform standby duties
    • Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test, and such other tests as may be required to assess the applicant’s suitability for employment.
    • Must have proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or be fully vaccinated by the date of the commencement of employment.

    Key Competencies:

    • Working knowledge of general Engineering maintenance standards.
    • Proven competence in general maintenance, fabrication and construction work
    • Strong problem solving and systems thinking skills.
    • A high level of motivation, strong work ethic and self-starting attitude.
    • Be able to handle conflict, cope with pressure and manage time effectively.
    • Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Ensure health and safety of self and fellow colleagues by applying safety standards and procedures in all planning and execution of maintenance activities
    • Ensure that applicable pre-task risk assessments, permits and related are executed and managed according to standard procedures.
    • Compliance to Mine Health and Safety Act and Minerals Act regulations where machinery is concerned.
    • Effective execution of planned maintenance tasks ensuring work delivery is conducted safely, timeously and effectively.
    • Effective execution of assigned breakdown tasks, expansion, construction and installation as assigned
    • Execute daily work according to the Engineering Policies and Procedures within prescribed guidelines.
    • Ensure that condition monitoring of equipment, scheduled and planned maintenance are conducted timeously and effectively.
    • Perform end of shift procedures according to standards and procedures and ensure maintenance of general housekeeping standards for section/department

    Officer Warehouse

    Warehouse Officer is an underground shift bound role accountable for the supervision of all goods administration, transactions, transportation, and materials handling (loading and off-loading of materials) services. The role further requires the incumbent to ensure optimal materials management administration such as order validation, reservation management and related according to prescribed standards and procedures.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Be in possession of a Grade 12 qualification or equivalent.
    • Be in possession of a tertiary Qualification in Supply Chain or Logistics.
    • Have a minimum of 3 year’s appropriate experience in a materials management environment, preferably within the mining industry.
    • Be in possession of a valid code 08 (EB) drivers’ license.
    • Be computer literate with a working knowledge of MS Office.
    • Have relevant knowledge and an understanding of the SAP ERP materials management environment.
    • Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test, and such other tests as may be required to assess the applicant’s suitability for employment.

    • Be prepared to do shift work and to work extended hours on an ad hoc basis.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Monitor, comply and ensure adherence to Safety, Health and Environmental requirements; standards and procedures.
    • Ensure and monitor adherence to housekeeping standards.
    • Manage performance of all team members through effective supervision.
    • Motivate and promote teamwork and team integrity.
    • Supervise and coordinate the receiving of goods and materials and the issuing of receipts.
    • Supervise and direct the offloading of stock and materials in receiving bays located on surface and underground.
    • Ensure and monitor inspections on materials and return sub-standard material.
    • Supervise and monitor binning and coding of stock items.
    • Perform stock transfers and stock taking exercises.
    • Participate in the compilation of month-end reports.
    • Review the completion of pre-start checklists and monitor the operation of mobile equipment
    • Monitor and ensure adherence to maintenance schedules.
    • Escalate non-compliances, abnormal stock queries and unsuccessful deliveries.
    • Issuing material off the SAP ERP system.
    • Build and maintain healthy and transparent relationships with stakeholders.
