    nGap Lecturer: Animal Sciences

    Duties and responsibilities:

    •     Teach and assess undergraduate and postgraduate students. 
    •     Provide study leadership at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
    •     Source external research funding and forge linkage with the industry. 
    •     Participate in community projects such as Farmer's days.
    •     Recruit postgraduate students.
    •     Perform general administration duties as applicable at university level.

    Inherent Job Requirements:

    •     Master’s degree in Animal Sciences on NQF level 9.
    •     Proven experience in delivery of oral presentations at conferences or equivalent activities.
    •     An excellent academic record with a minimum 70% average mark for the master’s degree.
    •     Commitment to registering for a doctoral degree in Animal Sciences at the first available opportunity, if not yet attained by the time of the appointment.

    Recommendations:

    •     Relevant tertiary teaching, research, and experience in the industry as well as national and international contacts.
    •     Registration at the South African Council for Natural Scientists.
    •     B.Sc (Agric) degree with both Animal and Pasture Science.

    Women Football Administrator (post level 13)

    Duties and responsibilities:

    •     Carry out administrative duties using the systems and processes relevant to the organisation.
    •     Respond to enquiries and requests for information from students, other organisations and members of the public.
    •     Ensure administrative systems, processes and databases are efficient and updated.
    •     Provide administrative support to managerial staff and the Sport Manager Kovsie Football.
    •     Schedule meetings, leagues, training, camps, tournaments, conferences and other events.
    •     Work effectively with student committees and diverse cultures.
    •     Monitor academic progress of high-profile students to ensure academic success.
    •     Promote Women Football on campus and surrounding communities through schools, sports clubs, sports councils regional, national or international.
    •     Consult with clients, members, the community and local sports organisations.
    •     Advise sports club on areas such as organisation promotions and regulations.
    •     Assist administratively with financial matters and assist with fundraising and sponsorship events and presentations.
    •     Produce reports and event materials and liaise with marketing and media organisations.
    •     Provide administrative assistance in the resolution of political and ethical issues such as conflict of interest and disciplinary matters, the use of banned substances and breaches of regulations within the organisation.

    Inherent Job Requirements:

    •     Grade 12 on NQF level 4.
    •     One (1) to two (2) years' work experience in Football or Sports Administration.

    Recommendations:

    •     Degree in Sports Management/Development on NQF level 7.
    •     Experience in administration and co-ordination of projects and events.
    •     Experience in working with student athletes.
    •     Valid Driver's License.
    •     Experience in Health and Wellness, IT, Media, Marketing, or Human Resource Expertise.
    •     Additional positions occupied within Football Federations and Sport Organisations.
    •     Experience working within the Higher Education environment.
    •     Knowledge of university systems, policies and procedures.

    Senior Officer: Project Manager (post level 9) (2 positions)

    Duties and responsibilities:
    Project Management 

        Responsible to plan the project. This includes to: 

    •    Define the scope of the project in collaboration with relevant project stakeholders.
    •    Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project.
    •    Determine the resources (time, money, equipment, etc.) required to complete the project.
    •    Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities.
    •    Review the project schedule with relevant project stakeholders; revise the schedule as required.
    •    Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion.
    •    Select staff with appropriate skills for the project activities in consultation with the appropriate manager.
    •    Manage project staff according to the established ICT project management methodology.
    •    Contract qualified consultants to work on the project as appropriate.
    •    Deal with problems and issues, manage resolutions, corrective actions and lessons learned and collect and disseminate relevant information.
    •    Implement stakeholder engagement/communication plan.

        Responsible to monitor and control the project. This includes to:

    •    Execute the project according to the project plan.
    •    Develop forms and records to document project activities.
    •    Set up project specific governance and records to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured.
    •    Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments by following an approved change management process as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project.
    •    Establish a communication approach to update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organisation on the progress of the project.
    •    Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis.
    •    Monitor project alignment with approved budget.
    •    Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality.

        Report on and close the project. This includes to:

    •    Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase.
    •    Review project reviews.
    •    Prepare close-out report after completion of the project.
    •     Assist with the creation of project management governance, which is inclusive of among others, project management methodologies, standard operating procedures, processes, policies, guidelines and template documents.
    •     Responsible for other Ad hoc required activities.
    •     Collect and disseminate relevant information.

    Project Management Tools 

    •     Manage the tools and technology used to manage projects.
    •     Configure the tools and technology used to manage projects.

    Inherent requirements:

    •     A relevant Bachelor’s degree or an Advanced Diploma/B.Tech degree/Postgraduate Certificate on NQF level 7 OR a relevant 3 year National Diploma on NQF level 6.
    •     Minimum two (2) years’ relevant working experience related to the duties and responsibilities.

    Recommendations: 

    •     Demonstrate a good understanding of project management, project management methodologies and project management best practices.
    •     Demonstrate a good understanding of the principles of general management.
    •     Experience within the higher education environment.
    •     Knowledge of university systems, policies and procedures.
