What will you do?
The role is in the first line of defence, meaning within management control.
The role is to support Intermediated Business in applying risk management processes and techniques with the aim of increasing awareness, ownership and management of risks leading to improved business performance.

Compliance
Enterprise Risks
Work with Santam’s IB Management and support Enterprise Risk Management (“ERM”), Group Compliance and Business Integrity Teams to ensure overall delivery on the agreed Risk Management priorities for Intermediated Business. Responsibilities include:
– providing input in the Santam Group’s Combined Assurance Framework
– conducting risk assessments where requested by ERM
– assisting business in documenting and maintaining risk registers and Business Continuity Plans
– obtaining a good understanding of the business environment, including strategic and operational goals in order to identify new and emerging risks
– monitoring exposures compared to the risk appetite
– developing a set of actionable and targeted change programmes to best improve management of the risk environment
– providing oversight over premium collecting brokers and contracting to ensure that Santam is not exposed to unnecessary risks or risks exceeding its risk appetite.
– leading the Agency Maintenance Team that is primarily responsible for on-boarding new Brokers/Intermediaries (including vetting of supporting application and onboarding documents.
- Monitoring of license status and other risk management documentation)
Quality Assurance
Lead the Quality Assurance Team that is primarily responsible for
Data Transformation
Manage and support IB’s Information Manager in implementing IB’s and Santam‘s Data Transformation
Strategy (as directed by Santam’s Head: Group Finance and Data Transformation)
Member of IB Management Committee whose primary role is to exercise general oversight responsibility with respect to the operations of the Intermediated Business and to direct the business:

What will you do?
The aim of this new role is to increase the capacity to support and maintain the Guidewire & Thunderhead production and non-production infrastructure and software.
This role will also be responsible for
Managing & supporting complex systems in the cloud.
Driving optimisation of the DevOps environment through the use of automation.
Providing direction to stakeholders impacted by DevOps operations and will also have to be the lead technical expert in various DevOps related domains in order to provide direction, approval and support as required.
Serving as an escalation point for the technical roles in this team and for others who may need this support.
What will make you successful in this role?
Provide direction and guidance to Architects and Technical Specialists on ways to automate and improve the development, release management and production observation processes & procedures. This role will be responsible for the solution that is implemented and will have to sign off any solution developed.
Oversee, manage and optimise the administration of infrastructure deployment, technical support processes, support procedures, deployments & releases, servers, nodes, databases, etc.
Drive adoption of standards that are to be adhered to by software developers and testers to ensure that they follow established processes and works as intended.
This will include co-ordination of the relevant training & certification in relation to the requirements of the roles.
Identify opportunities for efficiency and improvements of hardware and software resource performance (CPU, Memory, Disk I/O, etc.) across all environments and take decisive action where potential business user impact is anticipated or experienced

Qualifications
National Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering field preferred
Knowledge and Experience
Minimum of 10 years relevant experience within IT.
Minimum of 5 years within a Lead role, managing complex hardware and software environments and teams.
5+ years’ software development experience in Java at a senior level.
Solid experience with Docker, Atlassian Suite, Bamboo
Solid experience in application development, support and release management
Experience in messaging middleware, web services, SOAP, REST, SOA, ESB, SMTP, FTP, secure FTP
Minimum 5 years experience working with and supporting complex systems deployed to cloud i.e. AWS
Skills
Working experience with Linux (RHEL), Java, SQL Database, distributed web applications
Proficient in Solution architecture design and delivery (e.g. TOGAF)
Experience with Docker, Atlassian Suite, Bamboo
5+ years’ IT development experience in Java
Solid experience working with and supporting complex systems deployed to cloud i.e. AWS
Competent in problem solving and troubleshooting at application and networked infrastructure levels

The successful candidate will be required to perform a Credit Control Function. This will encompass the collection and follow up of outstanding debtors and allocating of monies received, and other associated activities.
