    Project Leader

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    Manager: Transmission High Level Support

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    • Ensure that the Vodacom transmission network maintains a high availability & performance in accordance with international best practices.

    Principal Specialist CBU FBP Postpaid

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    • This role supports the Consumer Business Unit (CBU) Postpaid team by preparing advanced decision-making models/tools and analytics to aid product implementations and commercial and financial performance across all Postpaid business initiatives. The candidate will be responsible for optimising and automating daily and monthly reports/ models to improve team efficiency and modelling accuracy.     Executive Head: Treasury

    Role purpose:

    • Oversee the centralised cash pooling in South Africa, in line with group treasury policy, i.e. iro security, liquidity and yield
    • Review cash flow forecasts and monitor on-going liquidity requirements across main SA entities and African entities
    • Effectively support external bi-annual dividend distributions, bi-annual tax payments and other major payments throughout the year by ensuring sufficient cash collected via the centralised treasury function

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Investigate available options and internal and external sources of funding to finance mainly capital expenditure and mergers and acquisitions (“M&A”) across the Vodacom group of companies. Structure each loan or preference share funding transaction in the most optimal way
    • Review and negotiate agreements and borrowing margins
    • Build and maintain ethical and sound relationships with banks and other lenders
    • Drive reduction in and maintain efficient consolidated cost of debt 
    • Carry out thorough analysis and prepare robust group board papers on short term borrowings, long term borrowings, debt maturity profile and fixed-floating mix
    • Responsible for determining IFRS16 discount rates for African markets and liaising with auditors on how the rates were arrived at
    • Ensure that group capital structure is aligned with both business strategy and financial policy, both medium and long term

    • Counterparty risk (e.g. bank risk assessments) for operational cash and M-Pesa customer funds

    Executive Head: National Chains & Wholesale

    Role purpose:

    • The EHOD: National Chains & Wholesale is responsible for driving sales growth, developing sales strategies within the Unbranded Channels.  
    • The role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and exceptional sales expertise to achieve revenue targets and enhance market presence by developing and implementing sales strategies, identifying new business opportunities and build strong relationships.  
    • Additionally, this role will be responsible for forecasting sales, monitoring market trends, and analysing data to make informed business decisions.  
    • The EHOD of the Wholesale and Retail channels in Unbranded is a crucial role in driving the company’s sales initiatives and ensuring its continued success in the market.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Sales Strategy Development:  Develop and implement sales strategies and plans aligned with the company’s overall goals and objectives. Identify market trends and competitor activities to drive sales growth and lead in market share.

    • Cross-functional collaboration:  Collaborate with other departments i.e., Product, Marketing, CVM, Operations, Finance and Regions to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives.  Foster strong relationships to drive co-ordinated efforts and maximise sales opportunities. 
    • People Leadership: Lead and manage a sales team, providing guidance, coaching, and mentoring to enhance their performance. Set clear sales targets monitor progress and provide regular feedback. Foster a collaborative and high-performance sales culture. 

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • Matric/Grade 12 is essential and 
    • Relevant 3-year Degree or National Diploma essential and

    A minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience essential in:

    Specialist: Technology & Communications

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    • Tactical Planning & Implementation of the Internal Communications & Engagement Strategy for Group Technology.  Responsible to drive all engagements relating to key Vodacom Group Technology Strategic Initiatives across all eight local markets in the Sub-Saharan Africa region. These engagements take place through a range of channels (e.g. viva engage,  internal and external communications, Technology community forums etc.) to ensure ease of access, clarity, consistency and transparency.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Support the development and implementation of internal technology communication strategies and roadmaps to shape the direction of the company’s internal technology communications and engagement strategy, aligned with business goals.
    • Support the Group CTO and Group Technology Exco with developing and compiling material and/or information briefs for any external engagements (conference presentations, conference panels, media events, responses to media questions).
    • Create segmented and personalized communication using various channels (digital, visual aids, posters, etc.). 
    • Develop content for publications, announcements, newsletters, and other digital/electronic platforms.
    • Collaborate with design teams for creative campaigns to drive awareness and engagement across our One Tech Team
    • Generate, proofread, and edit editorial content for internal communication channels.
    • Utilise emerging communication technologies / digital visual aids / mobile and social media platforms to enhance the usage, viewership, adoption, and overall impact of internal communications.
    • Assist in rolling out surveys to assess the impact of internal communications.
    • Collaborate with Technology teams on communication for corporate programs, project implementation, and change management initiatives.
    • Develop an internal Technology Portal for persistent communication of all strategies, targets, best practices, and reports for all Technology initiatives across all Markets within the footprint.
    • Participate in regular brainstorming sessions to generate creative ideas for communication campaigns and initiatives
    • Research and keep abreast of new innovations , identify and share leading practices, concepts and benchmarks on a continual basis
    • Drive best practice, continuous improvement and innovation at process and procedure level
    • Conduct internal communication research and analyze employee feedback.
    • Demonstrate awareness of current market and industry trends across all local markets in the Sub-Saharan Africa region.
    • Identify and support the compilation of nomination proposals for awards and recognition for key technology achievements across all Markets and Group.

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • Matric/Grade 12 or SAQA Accredited Equivalent essential and 5 years + experience is essential OR
    • 3 year degree or diploma in either Communications, Journalism, PR Marketing + 3-5 years’ experience

    Specialist - International Roaming

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    • To create and conduct implementation of the ASOC strategy to establish and support a Centralized Core Configuration service to all Vodacom’s Roaming partners.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Testing of services: 2G, 3G, GPRS, UMTS, MMS, SMS, LTE and VoLTE voice and data on existing and new networks. Applicable for prepaid and post-paid services.
    • Provide support to all roaming partners around the world pre and post IREG testing period. Provide detailed information on products, services, and call flows. 
    • Plan and implement roaming partner databases on all core network entities HLR’s/HSS’s, VLR’s/MME’s/MSS’s, SGSN’s/SGW’s, GGSN’s/PGW’s, DNS, CSG, STP’s and DRA’s. On multiple vendors Nokia, Huawei and Cisco.
    • High level of functional understanding of all core network elements in the network including. Ensuring that roaming databases are current and up to date. Verify current database for correctness and performing audits.
    • RPA development. Convert business requirement and daily tasks into processes that automate tasks and functions. Create, review and update documentation, diagrams, write code and provide support. Able to follow and understand someone else’s code and error logs

    The Ideal Candidate for this role will have:

    Must have technical / professional qualifications and experience: 

    • Grade 12 essential
    • National Diploma or BTech/BSc Degree (NQF 6/7) – Electrical Engineering or Information Systems

    Additional Requirements of the role:

    • You will be required to work over-time from time to time in the evenings and over the weekend.

    Specialist - Platform Element Management Systems Engineer

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    • To support and maintain the network Element Management Systems (EMS) within Operations Support Systems domain, i.e. RAN, CORE and Transmission Technologies. 
    • To plan, analyze, design, develop, test, support and maintain the ASOC Platform Technologies to ensure quality data in support of the business requirements and the realization of these into final solution implementation within the ASOC Business Intelligence domain for the management of OSS services. To ensure that information is treated as a strategic asset whereby the integration of data can deliver value and help align business priorities and technology.  Responsible for expanding and optimizing the ASOC Technologies through implementing robust Platform architecture, as well as optimizing data flow and collection of key metrics for cross-functional teams.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Lead analysis, design and implementation of OSS/EMS solutions to manage changing technology landscape pertaining to Vodacom networks and services, including 5G evolution, NFV, SDN
    • Manage future state roadmap on the EMS Technologies.
    • Champion the evolution of new technologies such as micro services, system container management and Cloud native services to increase efficiencies in deployment and operations. i.e. 5G evolution, NFV, SDN etc
    • Implement security practices in line with the enterprise standards e.g. Strong Security Baselines (SSB) CSB, Patch Management, etc.
    • Perform upgrades and patching of EMS Technologies 
    • Standardise OSS tools across the supported OpCos, i.e. Vodacom SA, Tanzania, DRC, Mozambique, Lesotho and etc.
    • Deploy latest OSS software versions to OpCos
    • Swop end-of life software and hardware 
    • Remediate security vulnerabilities
    • Manage OSS capacity plans to support network growth & features
    • Ensure technical compliance with Security, ISO9001, POPI & BCM Policies

    The Ideal Candidate for this role will have:

    • 3-5 years’ experience in OSS, with specific focus on Network technologies and applications, e.g. NetAct, Huawei, Coriant, Nokia SAM, etc (advantageous)
