    Warehouse Supervisor

    Responsibilities:

    • Ensure the warehouse follows the rules for handling goods.
    • Check the results of the warehouse work and report any problems to the manager.
    • Follow the safety rules and escalate any violations to the manager.
    • Keep the warehouse clean and safe for food products.
    • Check the equipment and report any damage to the manager.
    • Follow the display guidelines for products and rotate them.
    • Check the condition of the warehouse and report any repairs to the manager.
    • Check the vehicles daily and weekly and fill out the checklists with the driver.
    • Check the status of outgoing deliveries and plan for picking stock on time.
    • Check that stock is loaded according to the sheet and give the paperwork to the driver.
    • Receive incoming deliveries on the system and file the paperwork.
    • Investigate shortages and tell the manager.
    • Conduct Stock Counts.

    Requirements

    • National senior Certificate (NQF4) or equivalent
    • Diploma in Supply Chain or Logistics would be ideal
    • Valid Driver’s License (Code EC beneficial)
    • 5 years’ proven experience in warehousing, stock movement and stock control, preferably in FMCG environment
    • 3 years’ proven people management experience

    Warehouse & Logistics Manager

    Responsibilities:

    Distribution

    • Review planned routes with the Route Planner to ensure on-time delivery to customers in the most cost-effective manner. Ensure that operations are aligned to the Route Plan and measure actuals against the plan.
    • Liaise with the relevant stakeholders such as Sales to provide timeous feedback to customers on expected deliveries, communicate any carry overs and identify ways to improve service delivery.
    • Report the number of open orders to the Distribution Manager and agree to plans for the timeous delivery of orders.
    • Introduce and reinforce Control Measures for the distribution of Proof of Delivery (POD's).
    • Monitor that all relevant administration and filing is up to date.
    • Measure and monitor staff efficiency in the distribution centre.
    • Check adherence to Food Safety and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Standards.

    Stock Management

    • Introduce and reinforce control measures to manage the implementation of accurate and timeous Receiving Practices. Spot-check deliveries received, monitor the recording of shortages and overs, and investigate discrepancies. Decide on the receiving of overstock.
    • Conduct spot-checks regarding the storage of stock in allocated areas, the application of stock rotation First-In-First-Out (FIFO), and the discipline of not mixing Batch Numbers, etc.
    • Monitor the accuracy of Cycle/ Stock Counts and read figures into the ERP system.
    • Investigate stock variances within Batch Numbers.
    • Organise and plan full Stock Counts. Investigate and put operational plans in place to minimise stock variances.
    • Monitor adherence to returns procedures, capturing of Credit Notes (RMA`s), scanning of returns, and the correct storage of returns.

    Administration

    • Perform system Workbench Maintenance.
    • Verify accurate capturing of Credit Notes.
    • Maintain up-to-date administration records.
    • Report on warehouse and distribution performance against key performance indicators.
    • Manage the distribution centre costs to ensure adherence to budget provisions.

    Fleet Management

    • Manage Fleet Administration (refuelling, maintenance, etc.).
    • Monitor adherence to Fleet Management Controls.
    • Address fleet-related matters.

    People Management

    • Manage attendance and performance of direct reports.
    • Provide growth opportunities through training and feedback.
    • Participate in team member selection and conduct regular meetings.
    • Approve leave and manage overtime.
    • Demonstrate Company Culture.

    Requirements

    • Certificate or Diploma in Logistics Management, Business Administration or related field
    • 5 years’ proven experience in warehouse or distribution centre management
    • 3 years’ proven people management experience
    • Valid Driver’s License and own transport
    • Proficient in MS Office with advanced Excel
    • Proficient in the ERP systems
    • Knowledge of the geographical area and Customer Base
