    Regional SHERQ Manager

    Job Advert Summary
    An opportunity has arisen for a high calibre SHEQ Manager to assist Operations with audit preparation and updating of information onto the Entropy System which would include capturing of reports for all incidents, accidents, inspections and audits etc. Please refer to the minimum requirements, duties and responsibilities below for further information.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Matric Grade 12
    • SAMTRAC education background
    • Advanced HIRA qualification
    • Advanced incident investigation
    • Experience in CNB253 Integrated System
    • Minimum five years experience in similar field Co-ordinate training in 9001, 14001 and OHASA 18000
    • Fairly good knowledge of the Transport industry will be a definite advantage
    • Inspection and auditing experience
    • Must have MS Office experience
    • Compliance with ISO 9001, 14001 and OHASA Standards
    • Display Data capturing abilities
    • General administrative duties
    • Ability to promote team work and co-operation and create a climate for motivation.
    • Handle general queries regarding HSE issues within the working environments
    • Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993 and relevant standards
    • An understanding of processes regarding the Workmen's Compensation Accident notifications, claims and resumption reports
    • Ability to work independently under pressure.
    • Possess Leadership qualities

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Keep a register of all IOD's within the region and complete necessary WCA documentation
    • Conduct monthly Safety inspections
    • Conduct monthly Safety & Environmental meetings on site with Contract Managers and Safety Committee Members
    • Conduct risk assessments
    • Update and maintain site specific work procedures
    • Maintaining of registers relating to machinery, tools, lifting equipment and pressure vessels on site
    • Update SHEQ Notice boards on a weekly basis Collect and assemble SHEQ Statistics for monthly reporting purposes
    • Assist Contract Managers in audit preparation
    • Conducting of bi-annual self audits
    • Operation audits to monitor compliance with company policies and procedures
    • Updating of information onto the Entropy System which would include capturing of reports for all incidents, accidents, inspections and audits etc.
    • Developing and maintaining SHEQ training and education programmes
    • Ensure legal compliance within areas of responsibility

    Diesel Mechanic - Cape Town

    Job Advert Summary
    An opportunity has arisen for a Mechanic: responsible for the repairing and maintenance of all diesel/petrol/ machines, motor vehicles, pumps, generators in a company. Diagnoses, identifies and rectifies mechanical problems on vehicles and equipment. Plans work procedure. Overhauls or replaces carburettors, blowers, generators, distributors, starters and pumps. Rebuilds parts such as crankshafts and cylinder blocks.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Qualified Artisan or 5 year recognized apprentice
    • Valid driver's license, preferably EC
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience
    • Essential: Fuel Tanker, disc brakes, mechanic brakes experience
    • Advantageous: Auto electrical and hydrolics experience
    • Willing to work weekends, public holidays and be on standby

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Servicing of company vehicles to predefined checklists
    • Attend to breakdowns and carry out the necessary repairs on Heavy Duty Vehicles
    • Apply Health & Safety rules and regulations in all aspects of job
    • Ensure vehicles are kept in line with legal requirements and company policies i.e. roadworthy etc.
    • Maintain a safe and clean working place at all times
    • Administer regular reporting to management regarding breakdowns, services etc
    • Perform ancillary duties to the above as determined by management on an ongoing basis
