    Senior HR Manager - Johannesburg

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    • This role is a permanent full-time position.
    • As a Senior HR Manager you will be responsible to design and implement the Broader HR Strategy and Services in line with HR Operating Model. This includes significant influence over and direction of operations and functions access and service experience of HR systems and processes.
    • In addition, lead, motivate and develop each regional HR team to ensure HR services are delivered in accordance with the service level agreements, country legislation and enterprise agreements to Line Leaders, employees and contractor workforce.
    • As a member of the HR Leadership Team (HRLT), this role will shape HR strategy and the Service Delivery Model at South32 as well as provide key insights to define the HR systems roadmap in the organisation.

    Reporting to VP Human Resources, other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

    • Enable a culture that embraces standardisation and operating discipline in the access and execution of global, regional and local HR processes within the broader HR.
    • Influence the design and lead the implementation of the governance model for HR systems and processes, including identified critical global processes in line with the S32 Global operating model.
    • Actively, engage peers in Systems, Process & Governance, HR Business Partnership and Reward & Benefits to discuss and identify improvement opportunities end to end.
    • Influence and educate HR peers and Line Leaders at the Operations on the value of adopting standard processes and practices as well as leverage the operational discipline.
    • Ensure HR operational risks and controls are managed in accordance with the South32 Standards.
    • Design and implement the operating system for HR that will drive customer focus and performance, including performance metrics and reporting, trend analysis and team rhythms and routines.

    ABOUT YOU:

    You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

    • 5 to 7 year experience as a HR Professional (essential);
    • Demonstrated Leadership experience and capabilities with teams of similar size (essential);
    • Develops effective relationships with clients (internal) by anticipating, understanding and responding to their needs to ensure their ongoing satisfaction;
    • Demonstrates sound knowledge and experience in engaging and influencing others to work according to the established operational standards as well as creating a collaborative environment with the key stakeholders;
    • Demonstrate experience with HR system and process design and implementation.
    • Demonstrates sound knowledge and experience in Operational management (demand, volume, cost, productivity and capacity plans).
    • Demonstrated knowledge in South African and Mozambique Human Resources statutory and legislative requirements (required).
    • Demonstrated knowledge and experience to assess, evaluate and establish mitigations to operational issues and risks; including the Business Contingency and Disaster Recovery plans.
    • Demonstrates experience in engaging and influencing others to create a collaborative environment with key stakeholders.
    • Experience in mining, resources, or heavy industry sector

    Qualifications for this role are:

    • Tertiary qualifications in Business Management or HR preferred.

    Engineering Project Planner and Scheduler - Richards Bay

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    This role is a permanent full-time position.

    • As an Engineering Project Planner and Scheduler, you will be responsible to plan and report on the overall execution of Engineering Modifications and Small Projects by controlling project schedules/plans and to track progress on projects for success.

    Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

    • Provides planning and scheduling expertise for the overall front-end loading programs that will include, concept development, options analyses, engineering design, procurement, construction, commissioning and operational readiness activities as per the Cube projects by phases approach;
    • Develops summary and detailed schedules including the front-end planning for all the individual projects in the approved projects;
    • Develops baseline Master schedule derived from the combined individual project schedules and monitor/report schedule progress against established baseline on a monthly basis;
    • Ensure effective shutdown planning and integrate shutdown requirements;
    • Provides input in aligning the high-level project plans into the development of the 2-5 year Capex Business plan;
    • Generate project S-curves on major projects to reflect forecasting and project status.

    ABOUT YOU:

    You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

    • Has worked in Project Management administrative environment for a period of 4 years;
    • Has at least 2 years' experience in planning of multi-disciplinary projects within a heavy industrial environment;
    • Sound knowledge and application of planning programs/ systems such as MS Project or Primavera, MS Excel;
    • Formal planning training accreditation for Microsoft Project.

    Qualifications for this role are:

    • National Diploma/B-Tech/Degree in a Technical field of study;

    Controller Maintenance (Fixed Term Contract) - Richards Bay

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    • This role is a fixed term contract position.

    As a Maintenance Controller, you will be responsible to develop and communicate the plans and schedules for an Operation / Operation area in accordance with the SAP Work Management processes.

    Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

    • Facilitate the weekly prioritisation and the resource levelling meetings to ensure alignment of all work management activities to production or other operational plans;
    • Create and plan SAP work orders that enable effective deployment of work management resources, including personnel, service providers and materials;
    • Develop and communicate accurate weekly work schedules reflecting all work management activities within budget for cost and vendor targets, ensuring that they are adequately resource levelled and aligned to the corresponding 12-week planning window;
    • Managing the ordering and delivery of materials for the planned work;
    • Request work management master data changes as required, based on equipment strategy reviews, failure analysis and identified quality errors;
    • Develop secondary task lists for relevant reoccurring work to support effective planning and safe execution;
    • Execute the planning and scheduling functions and requirements for Shared Resource Work teams, internal and external;
    • Conduct SAP training / coaching of maintenance departments and other sub functions;

    • Assist Supervisor Maintenance with the re-scheduling of planned maintenance activities; cost and vendor number forecast and feedback;
    • Identify system generated work orders that must be cancelled and not to be executed to the Specialist Analysis and Improvement;
    • Review and analyse work management metrics to ensure compliance to the SAP processes. Tracking of high-risk activity for safe execution.

    ABOUT YOU:

    You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

    • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in heavy industry;
    • Working experience on SAP is essential;
    • Experience in work management is advantageous;
    • Working experience on MS Projects is advantageous.

    Qualifications for this role are:

    • N6 National Technical Diploma with a valid Trade Test.
