    Sales Agent

    Role Summary:

    • Selling and upselling policies.

    Responsibilities & Requirements:

    • Persuade clients to buy policies
    • Ensure you follow compliance when contacting clients
    • Meeting all sales targets set
    • Ensure you capture the correct risk information
    • Address uncertainties around the App
    • Explain policy or App features
    • Address concerns
    • Upselling to existing customers
    • Setup of systems for the call centre, including but not limited to the process of getting leads, managing the leads, tracking progress and implementing of appropriate measurements and targets
    • Ensure that all communication to customers is on appropriate standards – achieving a balance between being professional, friendly and courteous while maintaining the informal and relaxed Pineapple culture

    Claims Specialist

    Key Responsibilities:

    As a Short-Term Motor Insurance Claims Agent, you will be responsible for:

    • Managing and processing motor insurance claims in a timely and efficient manner.
    • Assessing and validating claim information, including reviewing documentation and conducting investigations to determine coverage and liability.
    • Collaborating with internal departments and external stakeholders, such as repair facilities, assessors, and legal counsel, to ensure claim resolution.
    • Communicating with policyholders and claimants to gather information, provide updates, and answer questions related to the claims process.
    • Maintaining accurate records and documentation throughout the claims process.
    • Identifying and escalating potential fraudulent activities or discrepancies for further investigation.
    • Ensuring compliance with regulatory and company guidelines and procedures.

    • Participating in training and development opportunities to enhance industry knowledge and professional skills.

    Requirements:

    • A minimum of 3 years of experience in claims handling, specifically in short-term motor insurance.
    • In-depth knowledge of the South African insurance market, regulations, and industry trends.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathise with customers and provide clear explanations.
    • Detail-oriented and highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple claims simultaneously.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Suite and experience with claims management software.
    • A commitment to providing excellent customer service and upholding Pineapple's values and mission.
    • Relevant insurance qualifications (e.g., RE5: Short-Term Insurance COB training or higher) are highly desirable.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement sophisticated risk assessment, pricing, underwriting, and reserving methods.

    The role of a Junior Machine Learning Engineer within the short-term motor insurance industry is centred around supporting the Data Science and Machine Learning team in designing, developing, and deploying machine learning models, ensuring high performance and alignment with business goals.

    Responsibilities:

    Model Development:

    • Assist in the design and development of machine learning algorithms and models.
    • Experiment with new algorithms and techniques in machine learning and deep learning.
