    Technical Manager

    Job Specification:

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Responsible for overall R&D and NPD activities on site.
    • Identify and implement Improvement Opportunities related to product quality and process optimization
    • Liaise with suppliers on quality and technical issues.
    • Operational budgeting and cost control
    • Competency development of teams, including mentoring and coaching
    • Trend and review raw material, product and process specifications and update them
    • Develop, validate and implement equipment and process procedures
    • Create exciting new products in line with Design HACCP requirements that will meet market requirements from concept phase to industrialization
    • Conduct shelf life studies
    • Conduct sensory evaluation
    • Identify, test and approve new ingredients
    • Develop, validate and implement analytical methods
    • To support the project team in the scoping, development and commissioning of CAPEX projects
    • Support packaging projects as required
    • Issue regular project status reports and hand-over project report
    • Provide hands on support and involvement in the day to day operations
    • Provide hands-on training in baking and baking operations as well as class room training sessions
    • Mentor and develop junior members of the Technical team
    • Ensure the Pilot Plant facility fulfills the site AIB,GMP and Safety requirements
    • Maintain good manufacturing practices
    • Enforce and maintain discipline

    Minimum Requirements:

    Experience:                                                                   

    • A minimum 10 years’ experience within the FMCG / Food Production Industry.
    • A minimum of 5 years in a managerial role.
    • Previous experience within the baking industry.

    Qualifications:

    • BSc / BSc (Hons) degree in Food Science or any related qualification is essential
    • Experience in operations, quality or R&D within the FMCG Industry spanning at least 5 years

    Additional Requirements:

    • Knowledge of data analysis and related software (i.e. Minitab, Statistica)
    • Knowledge of FSSC 22000 and AIB
    • Knowledge of SAP
    • Knowledge of Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
    • Knowledge of Sensory Science

    Process Fitter

    Job Specification:

    Key Performance Areas:

    Health and Safety

    • Continuously adhere to and engage in safe working practices.
    • Adhere to the company safety policy.
    • Adhere to the company's food safety policies.

    Maintenance

    • Carry out breakdown repair work on all plant and equipment.
    • Carry out planned and preventative maintenance schedules as required on equipment within the area of responsibility.
    • Perform planned shutdown work on plant and ancillary equipment.
    • Contribute to the scope of work for planned maintenance activities.
    • Identify potential reliability issues, and poor engineering practices, and take appropriate actions to rectify such deviations

     Problem-solving

    • Contribute to investigating and completing root cause & failure analysis on protracted/recurrent breakdowns & failures.
    • Provide expert advice and guidance on problem-solving techniques to fellow workers.
    • Adhere to the company’s escalation policy and procedure.

    Reporting

    • Record all maintenance data (downtime, spares, and improvement recommendations) on Shopware CMMS.
    • Complete checklists and take appropriate follow-up measures
    • Provide performance feedback through shift or task handovers as well as team meeting platforms

    Minimum Requirements:

    Experience:                                                                   

    • Have at least 3 years of experience in processing plant machinery in an FMCG or manufacturing facility.
    • FMCG Plant Maintenance experience is essential.
    • Experienced and knowledgeable with pneumatics.
    • Working experience in conveyance systems.
    • Working experience in moulding and forming equipment.
    • Experienced working on gas-fired ovens will be an added advantage
    • FMCG Plant Maintenance experience is essential
    • Knowledgeable in QMS, HACCP, and GMPs is an advantage
    • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Regulations

    Qualifications:

    • Matric essential
    • Trade-tested Fitter at an accredited training facility
    • Minimum of N4 with Mechanical Trade Theory

    Additional Requirements:

    • Must be able to work shifts
    • Welding, basic turning/fabrication
    • Good fault-finding abilities
    • Computer literacy – Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook (e-mail),

    Deployment Planner

    Job Specification: 

    Key Performance Areas:

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Achieve service levels in accordance with targets per category
    • Facilitate factory to Distribution Centre deployment.
    • Facilitate Distribution Centre to Distribution Centre deployment.
    • Ensure regional stock levels support service level targets and collaborate with Inbound Planners
    • Manage space constraints in DC’s and factories
    • Ensure that there is no ageing stock across the network and flag possible issues with ageing stock.
    • Optimize direct invoicing from factories to the end customer
    • Direct deployment in network to minimizes touches in the network
    • Collaborate with factory logistics, AVI DCs and Transporters
    • Fine tune deployment models (Target days cover, MOQs)
    • Maintain Barnton Deployment master data and ensure it is relevant and up to date
    • Accurate load schedule sent out timeously to the relevant 3rd party transporters
    • Alternative plans to be made when there are truck supply constraints
    • Accurate and timeous reporting done and shared with relevant stakeholders

    Experience:      

    • 3 years minimum deployment planning experience within the FMCG industry

    Qualifications:  

    • Completed B.Com Degree in Logistics or Supply Chain

    • Advanced Microsoft Excel (Formula’s, VLookup’s, Pivots, WhatIF’s)
    • SAP experience
    • Barnton Planning Tool experience
    • SQL
    • Microsoft PowerPoint
