    Supply Chain Officer - Pinelands

    The Job:

     The Supply Chain officer takes responsibility for executing and managing supply chain services across all channels of purchasing. They will coordinate and control the Supply Chain Management (SCM) processes, aligning procedures, systems, and control across the organisation.

    Requirements

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor's degree (BCom) from three-year college or university
    • Degree in supply chain management.

     Required experience :

    • At least 3-5 years’ relevant management experience in Supply Chain Management.
    • Relevant Project management experience.

    Required functional knowledge / skills:

    • Working knowledge of relevant legislation.
    • Working knowledge of Risk management and project management.
    • Working knowledge of Supply Chain Management principles.
    • Contribute to supply chain strategy in an organisation
    • Implement a supply chain strategy
    • Elevated level of report writing skills
    • Knowledge of fleet management (advantageous).

    Other skills required:

    •  High Level of Language skills:  Ability to read, analyse, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
    •  High Numerical skills:  Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
    •  Exceptional Reasoning and Analytical Ability:  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
    •  Travel and Licences: Code EB (08) driving license and own transport is required. Local travel will be required in the course of duties.

    Other Skills Required:

    • High Level of Language skills: Proficient in English, Afrikaans and isiXhosa. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, and to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organisation.
    •  High Numerical skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
    •  Exceptional Reasoning and Analytical Ability: Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardised situations.
    • Computer Skills: Computer literacy with regard to the use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
    • Licences: A valid Cod EB (08) driver’s licence
