    Description

    To implement the Plennegy Group Data strategy and processes required to create, maintain, and enhance data, and be responsible for the daily execution of this critical business asset.     RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Data Creation

    • Create new master data records using Standard Operating Process (SOP) and company standard source documents.
    • Digital and ERP filing of source document information to be completed. 

    Data Maintenance

    • Update existing master data records using Standard Operating Process (SOP) and company standard source documents.
    • Digital and ERP filing of source document information to be completed. 

    Data Retirement

    • Retirement of no longer required master data records using Standard Operating Process (SOP) and company standard source documents.
    • Digital and ERP filing of source document information to be completed. 

    Management & Resolution

    • Update and completion of Query Management System within required SLA for business users.
    • Clear and consistent communication with business users, staff, colleagues, and management.
    • Willingness to operate in a team environment.

    Project Work

    • Assist with sourcing data, data collection, data capture, data scrubbing and any other requirements with various ERP or system or adhoc projects that are approved by the Business Improvement and or Master Data teams.

    Jupidex is currently looking for a segment lead who will be responsible for the development, marketing and selling -in and selling out of allocated product range in the respective segment to dealers, coops, and key accounts, maintaining relationships with new and existing customers (Dealers & Individual Customers) and thereby achieving or exceeding annual unit and GP sales target for the allocated product range.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Development and execution of Sales Budget for the allocated area

    • Do an in-depth analysis of agricultural activities and determine equipment requirements in conjunction with the Product Specification Committee.
    • Develop an annual Segment Sales Budget focusing on key products
    • Develop a Product/Segment sales plan
    • Execute against a set unit and GP and PxP objectives
    • Ensure that the Sales Budget is achieved.
    • Give regular feedback on performance against budget.
    • Implement immediate corrective actions where deviations occur.

    Sales & Marketing Actions

    Selling – In

    • Develop and maintain a productive long-term relationship with Customers.
    • Assist Dealers or Coops to determine project Sales
    • Ensure that products are delivered as per sales floor plans.

    Selling - Out

    • Introduce actions and activities to promote the brand and products in allocated areas e.g. Study groups, Farmers Groups, Agricultural Institutions such as Agricultural Schools, Colleges and Universities, Demonstrations, Farmer’s Days, and Collaborations with other Businesses such as Seed and other input providers.
    • Initiate Sales & Marketing opportunities by continuous area analysis and identifying opportunities.
    • Reach out to individual farmers and potential customers to create demand and refer to Dealers.
    • Plan and execute activities in line with Sales & Marketing plans.

    Stock Management

    • Liaise with Logistics/Head Office regarding delivery of stock items
    • Ensure that stock in his/her portfolio is visible and maintained as per Company directives.
    • Arrange for the delivery and commissioning of equipment to customers.

    Administration

    • Develop robust knowledge of all products in the respective segment
    • Document all Administrative work on Magnitude (Quotations, Customer Visits, Registration of Sold Equipment, Inventory Management)
    • Monitor industry trends and competitor activities
    • Track expenses in an organized fashion
    • Report weekly/monthly on the status of field marketing activities
    • Document and share lead/customer intelligence with the sales team.
    • Open communication to Sales Manager and Chief Operating Officer (COO).

    REQUIREMENTS:

    Education

    • Min:    Post-Matric Certificate/Diploma
    • Ideal:  Degree in agriculture/business/marketing or a related field

    Legal Requirements

    • Min: Valid South African driver’s license       

    Training

    • Min:    On-the-job training, Computer Skills on Word & EXCEL

    Experience

    • High level of product application knowledge - 5-10 years’ experience

    Knowledge

    • Agricultural Mechanization - Knowledge of the principles and complexities of Agricultural Mechanization.
    • Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer-needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
    • Business Knowledge – Understand the principles of successful business and the application of these principles in this business. Must have good financial acumen.

    Plennegy Research: Biotechnologist - Kempton Park

    Description

    The following position of a Biotechnologist has become available at our Research Department in Kempton Park. The purpose of this role is to execute laboratory analysis and assist with molecular breeding functions in the Biotechnology Centre in support of seed breeding programmes and seed production activities. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Discuss project needs and deadlines with the Lab Manager and other departments as per submitted samples.
    • Plan, supervise and assist lab assistant(s)/ technicians to prep samples as required,
    • Execute variety verification based on appropriate, informative systems.
    • Planning and scheduling of experiments to meet set deadlines (including ad hoc projects).
    • Execute purity runs as per project needs to meet set deadlines.
    • Scoring, interpretation, and reporting on projects executed.
    • Keep updated with new molecular protocols/ techniques that could be applicable to the Biotechnology Laboratory.
    • Research into new applications (protocols and methods) of molecular techniques, pertaining to the seed industry.
    • Assist with method development and implementation.
    • Plan, supervise, and assist lab assistant(s) to prepare samples as required.
    • Planning and scheduling of experiments to meet set deadlines.

    Plennegy Research: Skilled Agricultural Worker

    Description

    The following position of a Skilled Agricultural Worker has become available at our Kempton Park site. The job involves the essential tasks of sample preparation, which involves seed germination, sampling, grinding and overall preparation of samples for DNA extractions. Other samples may be prepared differently depending on sample type or crop ensuring successful DNA extraction and genotyping.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Ensure QC samples have been logged by Biotechnologist prior to handling
    • Label germination trays and plates accurately
    • Seed counting and germination
    • Check on samples once germinated, give water and antimicrobial when necessary
    • Sampling into plates
    • Adding correct parent controls to QC tests
    • Drying and grinding samples
    • Adding Lysis buffer
    • Good laboratory practices to be always maintained.
    • General Health and Safety Rules to be always adhered to in accordance with OHSA.
    • Accept duties as task leader, when appointed by Biotech Manager or other members of the Biotech team and abide by the agreement as set out by the “Acknowledgement of duties and responsibilities”
    • Development of novel ways to help improve productivity.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) (Essential)
    • Experience in a laboratory setting is advantageous
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time and use hands to finger, handle or feel, and techniques that require fine motor skills and repetitive motions.
