    Buyer

    The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

    • Drawing up and issuing of RFQs; completing commercial evaluations and making written recommendations
    • Placing and expediting of purchase orders with preferred suppliers and suppliers listed in the M&RC’s Approved Supplier Database
    • Verify purchases made are in accordance with procurement contracts
    • Conduct transactional procurement activities in accordance with best practice principles
    • Comply with Procurement policies and procedures
    • Liaise with contracts team to ensure that items frequently bought are added to an existing contract
    • Acceptable monthly lead time reporting
    • Proactive risk identification and mitigation
    • Effective teamwork and sound relationship with suppliers and cross-functional teams
    • Efficient administrative support to procurement team
    • Effective self-management and alignment with M&RC values and leadership initiatives 

    Minimum requirements

    Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

    • Grade 12 or equivalent.
    • Certificate in Purchasing and Supply Management [NQF Level 6] or equivalent
    • Proficient in MS Office [Word, Excel]
    • Exposure to JD Edwards or similar ERP system advantageous
    • Ability to plan, organise and negotiate effectively
    • Ethical and high work standards
    • Sound Purchasing and office administration skills
    • Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate at all levels
    • Able to work as part of a team and independently
    • Good written and verbal English communication skills, including a good telephone manner

     Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

    • Minimum 3 years relevant experience preferably in an Industrial environment (mining, electrical or construction project environment)
    • Experience utilizing information systems, JD Edwards experience will be an added advantage
    • Sound knowledge and understanding of the Procurement process, including the life cycle of a project
    • Understanding of budgets and financial controls
    • Knowledge of relevant legislation and Procurement Policies and Procedures

    Artisan Auto Electrician - Musina

    The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

    • Engineering installations are constructed according to agreed standards, procedures and specifications
    • Engineering equipment is maintained according to agreed standards and schedules
    • Engineering equipment is repaired according to agreed standards and schedules
    • Compliance with SHEQ, M&RC and client standards, policies, procedures and safety protocols
    • Cost containment, high mean time to failure after repairs
    • Effective stakeholder engagement
    • Competent, motivated, disciplined and positive team
    • Effective self and team supervision in alignment with MRC values and leadership initiatives

    Minimum requirements

    Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

    • Grade 12 or equivalent (NQF4)
    • Section 26 Auto Electrician Trade Certificate / MIETTB Trade Certificate through a registered body
    • Valid Medical certificate of Fitness
    • Valid First aid Certificate
    • Valid Code EB driver's licence
    • Good communication skills in English
    • Able to solve problems within agreed standards, policies and procedures
    • Team leadership and management skills
    • Sound listening communication skills

    Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

    • 5 year's mining industry experience (underground and surface)
    • 5 year's trade experience as a Auto Electrician on underground TMM equipment.
    • Self-motivated self-starter with high levels of initiative
    • Able to make decisions within agreed parameters

    Drill Master (Without B Cert)

    The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

    • Execution of effective drilling and development to ensure daily production targets are met
    • Effective planning, organizing, leading and control within area of responsibility 
    • Effective supervision of drill rig operators to ensure adherence to work schedule
    • Be alert and proactive in identifying and communicating equipment deficiencies
    • Monitor and report on consumables used (bits, rods in R/m and shank and coupling usage
    • Effective self and team management in alignment with M&RC's values
    • Compliance with SHEQ, MRC and Client standards, policies and procedure

    Minimum requirements

    Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

    • Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent
    • Drill Rig Operator Certificate 
    • Load Haul Dumper and Dump Truck operating license (advantageous)
    • Valid EB Driver's License 
    • Blasting Certificate/Trade Certificate (advantageous)
    • Valid Medical Certificate of Fitness to work underground 
    • Good English verbal and written communication skills 
    • Effective supervisory, job planning and numeracy skills
    • Operation of drill in all aspects
    • Installation of support, splitsets, mesh and resin bolts
    • Drilling long anchors
    • Making safe by barring/scaling with a rig and limiting damage to booms
    • Drilling of various blast rounds with minimal overbreak
    • Computer literate, ability to complete online training 

    Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

    •  At least 4 years drilling experience on a trackless mining operation
    •  Experience operating a Twin Boom Drill Rig (DD421) with split feeds, drilling the development face in various ways, installing weld mesh and split sets, drilling long anchors and drilling and installing quick-chem resin bolts with  the same machine
    •  Experience in operating Dump Trucks and Load Haul Dumpers
    •  Extensive working experience in decline shaft development as a Drill Master
    •  Experience in training Drill Operators and monitoring their performance
    •  Proven track record of production achievements
    •  Preference will be given to candidates with mechanised bolting experience
    •  Good knowledge and experience of mechanised mining operations
    •  Proven track record of production achievements
