    Research Analyst

    The core role of a Research Analyst in World-Check is to provide search and analysis through reputable sources related to publicly exposed persons (PEP), companies, and institutions. Redefining raw data into relevant insights for informed decision-making and supporting our clients to align with Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations and reduce financial or reputational risk of a missed investment.

    SOME OF THE DAILY TASKS YOU WILL PERFORM:

    • Using open-source research methods to collect data from the public domain, reviewing reputable media, government, regulatory and law enforcement sources to build and maintain relevant data
    • Proficient typing skills for efficient and accurate data entry
    • Experience or willingness to learn data collecting on an in-house system
    • Ensure that data extraction from news articles aligns with company guidelines and standards
    • Identifying regulatory and financial risk such as money laundering, fraud, organized crime, narcotics trafficking, and corruption
    • Becoming familiar and staying up to date with guidelines and regulations to ensure accuracy and high quality of delivered work
    • Collaborate with teams to ensure consistency and accuracy in data capturing processes

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Critical thinking, analytical skills, and logical reasoning
    • Demonstrate a high level of accuracy in data capturing and information extraction and meticulous attention to detail to ensure data integrity
    • Organizational skills
    • Ability to quickly grasp and understand new concepts and information and willingness to continuously learn and stay updated on industry developments
    • Very good use of Microsoft Office applications example: Teams desktop application
    • Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal
    • Ability to comprehend and analyze sophisticated information from news articles
    • Ability to adapt to changes in tasks, priorities, and work environment
    • Capable of working methodically and maintaining accuracy under time constraints

    Legal Counsel –Tech & Ops and Data & Analytics – EMEA

    Position Summary

    • We are seeking a skilled commercial lawyer based in South Africa, with a consistent record of client service and a practical, problem-solving approach, to support both the Group’s Data & Analytics and Tech & Ops Legal teams. The ideal candidate will understand international contracting requirements, have deep experience in drafting, handling and negotiating contracts and demonstrate outstanding attention to detail.

    The successful applicant will join an innovative global legal team committed to excellence and innovation in legal services.

    Role Responsibilities

    • Providing legal advice and support to the business including sales, technology, shared services and procurement teams.
    • Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a wide range of agreements with customers, vendors, partners and third parties, including data licenses, software and intellectual property related licenses, SaaS, outsourcing, master agreements, term and conditions, non-disclosure agreements, partnerships and other commercial agreements.
    • Advising and responding on legal issues related to the collection, usage and licensing of news/content/data/software services from multiple sources, regulatory issues, technology, vendors, intellectual property, incidents, cybersecurity, privacy, data misuse, customer complaints and contentious matters.
    • Supporting the coordination of legal matters handled by outside counsel and managed legal service providers.
    • Sharing responsibility for maintaining, updating and revising contract template agreements, processes and playbooks, supporting on special projects where required.
    • Helping to identify, research, assess and brief senior lawyers and business partners on potential and actual risks and legal exposures and assist in taking proactive and remedial measures.
    • Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of laws and regulations that may impact the business and implementing internal controls, policies and procedures, ethical standards and coordinate adherence to contractual obligations.
    • Independently handling workload by raising matters to team members where required and pro-actively driving matters forward.

    Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required

    • Qualified lawyer with 3+ years’ experience in a legal position handling a broad range of commercial law subject areas.
    • Exposure to financial services, technology, data and commercial contracting is helpful.
    • Must be fluent in English with excellent written and oral communications skills to interact confidently and effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Strong contract negotiation and drafting abilities.
    • Ability to articulate legal concepts in a clear and concise manner, applying commercial guidance with legal advice to balance legal issues against pragmatic commercial solutions.
    • Outstanding dedication to customer service.
    • Excellent planning, organisational, analytical, operational and decision-making skills; comfortable with using technology to support these.
    • Strong skills to work both collaboratively and independently.
    • Sound administrative and time management skills, with sharp attention to detail.
    • Ability to lead project workstreams and handle timelines.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and capability to build trusted working relationships with internal and external stakeholders across different functions and cultures, positively influencing the behavior of others.

    Senior Specialist, Marketing, Workflows

    • This role sits within the Business Marketing team at LSEG, and directly supports the products and solutions within the Workflows business of LSEG Data & Analytics. The Business Marketing team is a strategic partner to the LSEG business, powering commercial value through an insight led approach that enhances the impact of our investment and our relevance in the market. The Business Marketing team is the critical link to the Product and Sales teams to ensure all marketing activities are directly aligned to LSEG’s business priorities. 
    • Applicants for this role should ideally have experience of building a marketing strategy and content marketing plan for data or technology solutions to financial institutions. 

    Key responsibilities

    • Lead on the planning, content delivery and results monitoring of cross-Workflows marketing campaigns, including support for flagship Workspace solution
    • Determine the optimal content mix based on insights and analytics, and an understanding of how our customers want to discover and explore our solutions
    • Support the development of strong, targeted messaging that is compelling, differentiated and aligned to the customer workflow
    • Work with marketing and business partners to shape innovative content plans and ensure the coordination of the strategy and content across D&A
    • Monitor and analyse marketing budgets, including processing of invoices and monitoring of annual spending
    • Ensure deliverables demonstrate value and a return on investment, meet customers strategic requirements and LSEG’s quality standards, including brand guidelines
    • Partner with colleagues across Corporate Affairs & Marketing to ensure our marketing tactics are aligned to wider business objectives
    • Engage and collaborate with the business, agencies and strategic marketing partners to ensure plans and tactics are reflective of our customer challenges and our product proof points
    • Make use of analytics as a basis for strategy and content decision making, track performance against benchmarks and report return on investment

    Skills and experience

    • 1-3 years of marketing experience
    • Experience of product or solutions marketing would be beneficial
    • Strong writing and editing skills
    • Proven experience in B2B marketing to the financial markets’ community
    • Desire and passion, coupled with a genuine interest, to understand data and technology-driven financial solutions
    • Strong ability to learn, listen and collaborate
    • Good relationship management skills to satisfy a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
    • Extensive experience supporting the development of content materials (from sales enablement to thought leadership), with a detailed knowledge of the end-to-end process
    • Experience using Marketing Automation platforms with a preference for Eloqua is desirable
    • Experience using Salesforce and Tableau is a plus
    • Demonstrate superior attention to detail, accuracy, and initiative
    • Strong presentation skills
    • Strong collaboration skills and ability to negotiate through a diverse and global matrix structure
