    GMP Coordinator

    Key Duties & Responsibilities :  

    Coordinate and Manage Hygiene Services and/or Activities

    • Develop a 1–3-month pest control, waste, hygiene, and canteen monitoring work plan.
    • Coordinate and manage activities related to pest control, hygiene, garden, waste, and canteen contracts at site level to ensure service delivery meets business requirements.
    • Support procurement during Request for Proposal (RFP) process, during the tender process, with scoping of work and site visits to enable vendor selection.
    • Ensure material availability for pest control, waste, hygiene, and canteen service providers.

    Manage material budgets for Third party contracts.

    • Oversee and ensure equipment maintenance is performed by contractors as per schedule.
    • Coordinate waste management services to ensure appropriate waste removal, including the sorting of recyclable materials from point of source generation and the removal of separated waste to a central point.
    • Manage canteen housekeeping by ensuring appropriate cleaning resources and services are allocated.

    Compile and Provide Monthly Reporting

    • Provide monthly pest control, waste and recycling reporting to the business and gather information to improve pest control.
    • Provide monthly Good Manufacturing Practice report to ensure business is aligned on status of adherence to relevant standards.
    • Provide monthly reports on canteen performance.

    Drive and Ensure Adherence to relevant Health and Safety Standards

    • Adopt measures to ensure compliance to relevant CCBSA cleaning standards (e.g., HACCP, ISO 9001, ISO 22000, ISO 14001).
    • Provide cleaning standards and cleaning schedules and maintain records (this includes ensuring that the Canteen service provider meets relevant SHEQ standards) and ensure standards are available when required.
    • Inspect and audit all SHEQ requirements and work instructions, in applicable areas, and provide a report to the Quality Assurance Manager on the status.

    Train contractors on Company SHEQ requirements.

    • Ensure contractor compliance to SHEQ and other related business systems.
    • Ensures that supplier contract obligations are in line with company cleaning standards.
    • Drives adherence to Good Manufacturing Practice and cleaning standards by staff and contractors.
    • Maintain and ensure availability of cleaning material and equipment / waste equipment.
    • Manage contractors via Supplier Partnering Process (SPP) guidelines.
    • Conduct regular audits (i.e., waste management practices by contractors), on and off site, to ensure that contractors maintain adherence to required standards.

    People management and administration

    • Manage employee performance in common areas (ablution facilities, canteens, waste area, open plan, etc). this includes career development of employees and the management of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
    • Capture and resolve time errors for employees in area of responsibility.
    • Allocate individual cleaning staff to dedicated work areas and manage disciplinary issues.
    • Ensure employees are properly trained on the use of cleaning materials, equipment and other relevant training and maintain records of training.

    Skills, Experience & Education:    

    • A relevant formal qualification in either Food Sciences, Hygiene, or related fields.
    • A minimum of 3 to 4 years’ experience within a food or beverage manufacturing environments.
    • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
    • Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets.
    • Ability to identify and report any Hazards associated with cleaning and hygiene.
    • Understanding of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP).

    Cleaner

    Key Outputs and Accountabilities

    •  Emptying and cleaning of waste bins or similar receptacles, transporting waste material to designated collection points.
    •  Sweeping floors with brushes or dust control mops.
    •  Mopping floors with wet or damp mops.
    •  Suction cleaning carpeted areas and “spot” cleaning carpets.
    •  Using electrically powered scrubbing and polishing machines to burnish, scrub, polish and spray clean floors (after receiving proper instruction and training).
    •  Using electrically powered pick up machines.
    •  Working at heights may include using high level equipment.
    •  To dust, damp wipe, wash or polish furniture, ledges, windowsills, external surfaces of cupboards, shelves and fitments.
    •  To replenish consumable items (soap, toilet rolls, paper towels) as directed or in line with standard operating procedures.
    •  To clean toilets, urinals, hand basins, sinks, baths, showers and drinking fountains.
    •  Deep cleaning of ablutions.
    •  Cleaning of Drains.
    •  Working in the gardens which may include removal of weed, using of pesticides, cutting of lawns and pruning of trees and shrubs.
    •  The use of chemical agents as directed by the Supervising Officer in the execution of cleaning operations or maintenance procedures, after receiving proper instructions and training.
    •  To undertake wall washing or inside window pane cleaning at prescribed heights limits.
    •  To carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the job.
    •  Cleaners are to report to the supervisor or Team leader in charge, any factors that are likely to affect his/her work which they consider that the caretaker or cleaner in charge should be aware.
    •  The location of cleaning areas may need to be changed to meet the needs of the establishment.
    •  May be can be required to work alone or in teams.
    •  Not necessarily appointed to a specific location within the establishment.
    •  May be expected to train colleagues on the job from time to time.
    •  All staff are expected to be courteous to colleagues and visitors and provide a welcoming environment to all on site.

    Skills, Experience & Education  

    •  Grade 12/ Matric Qualification.

    Experience:

    •  Minimum requirement:
    •  Ideally experience in an FMCG environment.

    Quality Food Safety & Enviromental (QFSE) Manager

        
    Key Outputs and Accountabilities;

    • Implement and Manage the Quality Business Plan for the Plant 
    • Implement the Annual Business Plan (ABP), and drive, monitor and report on QFSE goals for the plant. 
    • Develop plans for Laboratory Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) requirements and ensure the execution thereof.
    • Report on KPI’s aligned with internal Management, CCBA and The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC), including all Quality, Environmental and Sustainability parameters such as water usage, energy usage, plant waste and recycling. 
    • Adapt CCBA, and relevant, Quality standards, protocols, and procedures for the plant.

    Provide support to the Manufacturing & Technical (M&T) and Logistics teams at plant level to deliver quality products to consumers;

    • Ensure Product and Package Quality meet Legal, CCBA and TCCC Requirements
    • Ensure that Product and Package Quality standards are monitored and controlled for the plant according to legal, internal and Coca-Cola Requirements.
    • Ensure that ingredients and package quality is monitored and controlled according to standards for all internal products.
    • Resolve all quality issues from plant level to the customer to meet business requirements.
    • Ensure Good Laboratory Practices are implemented in all laboratories on site (on-line, Quality Assurance and micro) and that all consumables are managed and stocked accordingly.
    • Ensure that Laboratory Equipment is serviced, maintained, calibrated, and verified as per agreed standards.
    • Ensure process capability programs are implemented, monitored, and reviewed by all relevant QA, Engineering and Production departments on agreed frequencies.
    • Lead the implementation of Quality at Source in the plant and develop Quality Assurance functionality.

    Implement and Manage Integrated SHEQ Environmental Compliance System for the Plant;

    • Ensure that standards are implemented in line with International Standards Organisation (ISO 14000, 9000, FSSC 22000), Coca Cola (KORE) and legal requirements.
    • Develop and implement environmental systems and guidelines for the plant.
    • Determine environmental goals through Aspect and Impact Assessments.
    • Ensure adherence to the National Environmental Act and other applicable legislation.
    • Implement and maintain a document management system that addresses all Quality, Food Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, and Environmental requirements.
    • Ensure that all validation requirements for new processes and equipment are followed as per agreed protocols.
    • Support the implementation of Supply Chain Maturity Test (SCMAT) and ensure that the Quality team is actively involved in the implementation of principles and improvement projects as required.
    • Ensure commercialisation and change management processes are followed to support the seamless execution of the change.

    Continuous Improvement of QFSE Management 

    • Conduct loss and waste analyses and drive continuous improvement programs to ensure appropriate quality process capability.
    • Ensure the implantation of Statistical Process controls and capability to improve product and package quality.
    • Facilitate technical problem-solving regarding quality issues and manage trade and consumer complaints.
    • Ensure that improvement processes are in place to improve water and energy usage as well as waste and recycling.
    • Ensure QFSE problem solving capability for all site teams.
    • Ensure the implementation of the environmental monitoring plan to mitigate and control microbiological risks.

    Manage and Implement Cost Controls to Ensure Adherence to Quality Budget 

    • Ensures the acquisition of laboratory equipment in line with the budget and assumes accountability for the pay cost and management of contracts.
    • Implement and manage the Quality budget to ensure adherence thereto. 
    • Accountable to ensure adherence to budget for all Quality, Food Safety and Environmental external contracts.
    • Ensure that quotations are available in time to update Rolling Estimates (REs) for consumables.
    • Ensure that all laboratory CAPEX requirements are communicated and planned for in the annual budget process according to the standard lab list.

    Lead and Manage an Engaged Quality Team;

    • Drive effective talent management practices to ensure an engaged team and sustainable talent pipeline, in accordance with business plan, to deliver on full potential. 
    • Lead and manage the plant Quality team to allow for the achievement of set goals, an engaged team and high-quality work output.

    Skills, Experience & Education    

    • A relevant Bachelor of Science degree.
    • ISO 9000, ISO 14000, FSSC 22000 and HACCP training certificate.
    • A master’s degree in science (BSc) or a Food Sciences Total Quality Management qualification would be an added advantage.
    • A minimum of 5-8 years working experience in Quality role within the food industry, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Matric or N3 (Refrigeration/electrical).
    • Registered Trade Test - Refrigeration.
    • Minimum requirement: 2 years’ experience in refrigeration/vending/fountain in the field (maintenance and repairs of commercial fridges).
    • Valid Code 08 driver's licence (must currently be driving). Code 10 will be an added advantage.

    Other requirements;

    • Technical Knowledge.
    • Must be a South African Citizen.
    • Clear Criminal and Credit record.
