    Consultant Multi Currency Clearing & Vostro Client Services

    Job Summary

    • We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Consultant for our Multi Currency Clearing & Vostro Client Services team. This role involves providing transactional support to foreign financial institutions (FFI clients) who transact across multiple currencies cleared through arrangements in South Africa. The successful candidate will manage cases (queries, investigations, and closures), maintain underlying transactional accounts and configurations, and advise on policies and rules impacting operational processes. Regular engagement with both our foreign institutional clients and internal teams is essential to ensure an efficient and effective currency clearing service.

    Job Description

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Stakeholder Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with FFI clients and internal teams.
    • MCC & Vostro Transactional Case Management: Handle queries, investigations, and closures efficiently.
    • Maintaining Accounts and Customer Configurations: Ensure accurate maintenance of transactional accounts and configurations.
    • Reporting and Miscellaneous Tasks: Provide comprehensive reports and handle various other tasks as needed.

    Preferred Education:

    • NQF level 5: Banking and Payments focus.

    Preferred Experience:

    • Working experience in international banking.
    • 3 years’ experience in customer service.
    • 3 years’ experience with ZAR domestic high-value interbank payments.
    • 3 years’ experience with FFI clearing services (single or multiple currencies).

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • Understanding of international banking concepts and operational processes.
    • Familiarity with relevant policy, regulation, and compliance requirements impacting FFI clearing services.
    • Knowledge of FFI clearing services operational processes.
    • Awareness of central bank policies as they apply to FFI clearing services.
    • Insight into ZAR domestic interbank processes.
    • Experience with African Currency Nostro providers and their processes related to FFI clearing services.
    • Proficiency in SWIFT standards as they apply to the payment and cash management segment.

    Education

    • Higher Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)

    Processes and Standards

    • Act as a custodian and advocate for the delivery management framework (Safe) and standards adopted across all programmes and projects
    • Engage the programmes and projects to ensure that framework and guidelines are communicated, understood and embedded
    • Ensure that guidance on change processes is provided and adhered to by all project teams across Everyday Banking
    • Contribute to Portfolio Enablement and Reporting centre of excellence with a focus to build skills and capability
    • Proactively work to automate and use tooling wherever possible to drive efficiencies and optimize value

    Delivery Oversight & Data Management

    • Review delivery, check & challenge and identify trends for analysis and pro-active actioning Pro-actively review CRAIDS to provide cross portfolio implications or raise matters for escalation through the relevant forums Ensure data accuracy and integrity through monitoring of data exceptions and ensuring that project data is updated and accurate Facilitate the weekly portfolio delivery review meeting with Program Managers to reflect on weekly progress, bottlenecks, and improvements

    Portfolio Reporting & Insights

    • Produce the portfolio reporting and provide analysis and insights Provide support with reporting and insights to Change Council and other executive level management information requirements Provide reporting across demand, capacity, and resourcing to drive effective decision making

    Duration

    • This is a 12 months internship programme
    • Every candidate must meet be available for the full 12 months programme.
