    Tech Lead: Data Analytics

    DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

    • The client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Tech Lead to oversee several of their Data Management for Analytics teams. In this role, the successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring the efficient operation, growth, and delivery of the client's data products. Acting as a liaison between business and technical teams, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with the product owner, data engineers, and other key stakeholders to drive successful project outcomes within an agile scrum environment.

    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical audiences.

    Responsibilities:

    • Client Liaison: Act as the main contact for clients, ensuring a clear understanding of their needs and converting them into practical requirements for the data engineering team to implement.
    • Backlog Refinement: Work closely with the Product Owner to refine and develop the backlog, ensuring that user stories are well-defined, precise, and technically feasible for the data engineering team.
    • Technical Expertise: Utilise your extensive expertise in BI Systems to advise the Product Owner and team on technical limitations and potential opportunities.
    • Mentorship & Training: Pinpoint opportunities for growth and provide access to training or mentorship programs to help team members enhance their skills.
    • Technical Debt Management: Clearly articulate technical debt and convert it into actionable backlog tasks to maintain the long-term stability of the system.
    • Cross-Team Collaboration: Act as the team's representative in cross-functional meetings, ensuring their needs are voiced and coordinating their workload according to project dependencies.
    • Time Management: Manage the team's time tracking and ensure precise project monitoring and effective resource allocation.
    • Performance Management: Assess the performance of data engineers and offer constructive feedback to encourage ongoing development and improvement.
    • KPI Tracking & Management: Evaluate the team's progress against established product KPIs. If necessary, modify our strategies to ensure we're on track to achieve our goals.
    • Incident Management: Assume ownership of critical business incident management, prioritising timely resolution and minimising operational impact.
    • GCP Budget Management: Manage and optimise Google Cloud Platform (GCP) operational expenditure (Opex) budgets. Ensure that resources are utilised efficiently to minimise costs.

    QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

    EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • Proven experience as a Team Leader for Data Management for Analytics, Data Engineer, or similar role.
    • Experience managing and prioritising a backlog.
    • Budget management experience.

    ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS:

    • Experience working with cloud platforms like GCP is a plus.

    Business Product Owner (Finance)

    JOB OVERVIEW:

    • The Business Product Owner's role involves effectively managing and growing the business's product portfolio and profitability. This includes expertly overseeing financial services products and cultivating robust relationships with key stakeholders to ensure ongoing product and portfolio expansion. Additionally, the position requires ensuring client projects are successfully completed, adhering to scope, time, and budget constraints. The Business Product Owner also acts as a senior product owner.

    DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Ensure that the financial targets for the fiscal year are achieved.
    • Create business proposals to enhance the product lineup.
    • Work with the Risk and Compliance teams to confirm all processes and products adhere to regulations.
    • Negotiate agreements and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and partners.
    • Coordinate with the client's legal team regarding new and existing contracts.
    • Partner with the marketing team to develop engaging campaigns.
    • Manage projects continuously within set deadlines while collaborating with stakeholders.
    • Maintain strong relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
    • Complete all administrative tasks within the expected time frames.
    • Regularly negotiate and finalise new products and services with partners.
    • Focus on the ongoing enhancement and expansion of the product portfolio.

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

    • Clear understanding of how transactional banking products work and how to derive revenue from this.
    • Understanding of the National Payments Systems.
    • Stock forecasting/management (for tech products).
    • Product management (financials/business cases, projects, analysis).
    • Computer literate (MS Office or Google Workspace).
    • Intermediate Excel/Google Sheets level.
    • Multiple partner management.
    • Stakeholder management.
    • Relationship/partnership management skills.
    • Financial reporting.
    • Draft business cases.
    • Numerical aptitude.
    • Analytical skills.
    • Business analysis.

    • 3 - 5 years of related work experience (either insurance or credit/sales or loans or bill payments, fintech products, tech products, banking).
    • Must have worked in a debit/credit card product environment.

    ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS:

    • Experience in the payment environment will be an advantage.
    • Any experience within the financial services industry will be an advantage.
    • Project management will be an advantage.
