    Technical Fuels Support Manager - JHB

    Candidate Profile

    • This position is accountable for ensuring that the quality and performance of petroleum products across the value chain is within the approved levels, ensure that contractual obligations with all customers are met and even exceeded and assist in the management of the cost of raw materials. 

    QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 

    • B.Sc./B.Tech/N. Dip - Chemical or Mechanical or 5-7 years’ experience in a product technical position in the petroleum industry  
    • Knowledge of Mining, Engineering industry, OEMs and petroleum products (TotalEnergies and Competitors), renewables, additives, oils, lube manufacturing plants and depots  
    • Exposure to negotiations, investigations and presentations regarding product claims, quality audits, technical product training, etc. Experience in managing technical staff and good communication skills. 

    Activities

    Technical support for petroleum products marketed by the company.  

    • To act as sole custodian to products into the mining segment with TotalEnergies Group, local service providers, ensure that international and local standards are strictly adhered to, and product quality and integrity is maintained.  
    • To develop new specialized products, with the assistance of the TotalEnergies Group, to meet the requirements of local customers and stakeholders.  
    • To lead the process of implementing TotalEnergies Group strategies, approved by TMSA management, regarding fuels and lubricants (e.g. fuel-efficient lubricants and fuels, new technology products, clean fuels, performance enhancing fuel additives, introduction of Biofuels, etc.)  
    • To ensure that TotalEnergies sales staff and key customers are well trained on TotalEnergies products, and thereby contribute to the achievement of the sales objectives for each product.  
    • To represent the company in various technical forums and interactions with authorities 

     Customer service  

    • To manage Technical Fuel Specialists, Technical Advisors and Tribologists and ensure that they are providing specialist technical support through which the company’s expertise in the field of fuels and lubricants is constantly advanced, its customer base broadened, and its sales boosted.  
    • To negotiate on behalf of TotalEnergies on product claims arising from possible misapplications / quality shortcomings to determine company liability and recommending / rejecting the settlement of such claims.  
    • To address all technical issues relating to quality, product waivers, customers queries, equipment failures, technical surveys and formulations  
    • To ensure that through the Technical Fuel Specialists, Technical Advisors and Tribologists, meaningful contribution is made towards ensuring that contractual obligations of the mining division are met through the successful implementation of continuous improvement projects.  
    • To ensure that all other marketing divisions receive the necessary technical support to contribute to meeting their objectives.  

    HSEQ  

    • To ensure constant adherence and compliance to company HSEQ and security standards, local by-laws, standards and legislation so as to minimize all risk pertaining to company assets and protection of life.  
    • To effectively manage and minimize HSE risk within area of responsibility by ensuring:  
    • Compliance with all HSE Policies, rules, guideline and legal requirements  
    • Promotion of safe working environment and positively contributing to the company HSE KPIs and risk reduction strategies  
    • That HSE competency requirements are identified & enforced within area of responsibility.

    Operator - Cape Town - Heron

    Candidate Profile

    • Mechanical or Electrical qualification
    • 2 Years’ Experience in LPG / Depot Maintenance / Stock Management
    • Knowledge And Experience in cylinder filling
    • Knowledge of vehicle management
    • Matric
    • A good knowledge of relevant legislation that impacts on LPG distribution and installations for example OHS-Act, HAZCHEM and relevant SANS regulations
    • Available and flexible to work after hours and weekend when required

    Activities

    Health, Safety, Environment and Quality:

    • Conduct and assist with the upkeep and conditions of all equipment through pre-use, daily, weekly and monthly routine inspections.
    • Conduct daily start up and shut down routine inspections
    • Prepare and execute Safety critical barrier, Inspections and Loop Testing if required

    Stock Management:

    • Ensure all cylinders are stacked and stored as per the storage requirement
    • Assist with stock counts 
    • Verify out-bound and in-bound sheet, confirming quantities on truck are correct
    • Conduct daily Safe to load inspections and upload documentation as per requirement (Cylinder trucks and Bulk)
    • Reconcile books, invoices, trip sheets and delivery notes before truck leaves the depot
    • Conduct and assist with all vehicle routine inspections

    Cylinder Filling and Bulk Activities:

    • Check condition of cylinders to be filled
    • Fill cylinders to correct capacities 
    • Inspect filled cylinders
    • Shrink wrap cylinders
    • Forklift operations for loading and offloading of cylinders
    • Record daily production
    • Reconcile production with seals
    • Assist with loading and offloading of bulk activities

    Maintenance Activities:

    • Maintain a high quality and safety standard of all equipment with reference to SANS regulations and Total Standards
    • Assist with fault finding of equipment
    • Assist with Planned Maintenance
    • Assist with breakdowns and Corrective Maintenance
    • Assist with general maintenance at the depot

    General:

    • Assist with customer walk-ins and collection
    • Assist with other duties as required by the Depot Manager

    Activities

    HSEQ: 

    • Compliance with the OHS Act of 1993 (Asbestos, Construction, Electrical Installation, Environmental etc)
    • Ensure adherence of TMSA HSEQ procedures by contractors and staff.
    • Provide assurance on HSEQ and take corrective action in your area of responsibility.
    • Ensure that only contractors with valid contracts are used, including Total Group ICC policy compliance. 

    Reporting

    • Ensure Sales & Marketing adhere to the agreed Maintenance process.

    Maintenance

    • Ensures preventive maintenance is carried out as per set schedules.
    • Review Preventative Maintenance reports on Daisy WW and take corrective actions
    • Develop and drive the Pump replacement project in your respective region.
    • Ensure that all contractors’ performance is measured against the contracts on a monthly basis.
    • Ensure that the maintenance Policy, Procedure and Processes are adhered to.
    • Ensure the effectiveness of the Maintenance strategy is monitored and reviewed frequently (Preventative Maintenance).
    • Ensure Contractors adhere to the NEMO contract (PM and CM).
    • Ensure improvement plan for your respective NEMO Group is conducted.
    • Conducts quaterly random audits and quality inspections of maintenance work to ensure compliance to standards. 
    • Anticipates the replacement of obsolete equipment in order to promote a preventative maintenance approach (maintenance investments).
    • Ensures the overall follow-up and treatment of work requests (curatives) in terms of quality and delay (compliance with SLAs).
    • Adapts the maintenance according to the segmentation and the nature of the activities (fuel distribution, washing, shop, ...)
    • Follows on monthly basis the budgetary expenditure in relation with the management control to anticipate / justify possible deviations.
    • Carries out an Annual Technical Visit (ATV) in collaboration with the Territory Manager and the tenant 

    Customer Service 

    • Ensure that all maintenance is completed as per the agreed time frames.
    • Ensure that accurate costing is submitted to business within the agreed time.
    • Ensure that you meet with business once a month to keep them up to date on their maintenance programs.
    • Attend and present at the Sales Manager Monthly meetings.

    Maintenance Projects

    • Ensure that you have full control over all projects in your project portfolio by following the Total engineering project procedure. 
    • Ensure that your entire projects are completed on time by creating and managing project programs for all allocated projects. 
    • Ensure that all your projects are completed within budget by managing your project financials. 
    • Ensure that the contractors, Project managers, Consultants, architects and equipment suppliers adhere to their performance targets, deadlines and budgetary guidelines. 
    • Ensure proper management of project documentation including technical drawings, posting of the assets under construction to assets register and control of legal and municipal approvals.
