    Assistant Resident Engineer - East London

    Core Purpose

    Assisting the Resident Engineer in being responsible for ensuring that the works are constructed to specification and in terms of the Contract.

    Key Performance Areas

    • Assist the Resident Engineer (RE) in monitoring the Contractors progress
    • Assist the RE in monitoring construction activities in accordance with the specifications.
    • Assist the RE monitor traffic accommodation
    • Assist the RE monitor OHS and environmental compliance
    • Assist the RE monitor the site laboratory
    • Assist the RE To issue site instructions and receive contractors' correspondence
    • Assist the RE to verify contractors' measurement
    • Assist the RE to verify payment certificates
    • Assist the RE to approve acceptance control
    • Assist the RE to maintain the necessary site records
    • Assist the RE with liaison between interested parties
    • Assist the RE chair monthly site and technical meetings

    Job Requirements

    Qualifications:

    •  Tertiary qualification BSc/B.Tech
    • Registered as a Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng with ECSA.

    Experience:

    •  7 – 10 years on SANRAL projects Competent at Construction Administration.
    • Competent with Civil Designer and/or Civil 3D.
    • Construction supervision and management.
    • Construction quality control.
    • Minute taking at site and technical meeting.

    Person Requirements

    Core Purpose

    The purpose of the job is to project manage large scale multi-disciplinary housing infrastructure projects from a GIBB internal perspective as well as acting as PM on the project from external perspective.

    Job Requirements

    Design Engineer (Municipal Infrastructure) - Cape Town

    Core Purpose

    The purpose of the job is to produce technical deliverables on of large scale multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects. Specific focus on civil Infrastructure design using Civil Designer and/or Civil 3D is a requirement. To carry out the planning, design, site supervision and construction monitoring for both internal and external civil municipal infrastructure (water, and sewer, roads and stormwater including stormwater management plan) for existing and new developments for both Private and Public Sector Clients. Compilation of Tender Documentation including Conditions of Contract, Specifications, Bills of Quantities and Tender Drawings.

    Key Performance Areas

    • Design & documentation of municipal services
    • Can work independently on project technical deliverables
    • Experience in both greenfield and brownfield projects
    • Experience with GCC2015, SABS1200 & COLTO
    • Good communication and people skills
    • Preparation of reports and presentations
    • Competent with Civil Designer, Civil3D and AutoCAD
    • Plan, organize and control specific technical tasks
    • Ensure adherence to the Quality Management System
    • Keep abreast of Technical best practice

    Job Requirements:
