Job Summary

Fancourt, South Africa’s premier golfing, leisure and lifestyle destination, is situated in George in the heart of the Garden Route. We are looking to employ an Operations Supervisor in our Fancourt Country Club’s Golf Services Department.

In your capacity as Supervisor you will be responsible to supervise, manage and ensure all golf operations staff are trained, able and busy delivering a world class golf customer experience on a daily basis. 

We consider the following criteria as essential: a minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent; at least 3 years’ golf operations experience; working experience on bookings & point-of-sales systems would be advantageous.

In order to apply for this position, candidates must be physically fit and able to perform functions which are deadline driven, deliver under pressure, high energy, and self-managing.

• Adverse working conditions:
• Must be prepared to work weekends & Public holidays;
• Must be prepared to work shifts.

Qualifications & Experience:        

• Grade 10 or equivalent, coupled with general work experience,
• No criminal record.

Duties & Responsibilities (areas and indicators listed are not exhaustive and may be changed / supplemented to accommodate business needs from time to time):            

• Hand raking of bunkers and bunker maintenance,
• Grass cutting with ride-on / walk-behind equipment,
• Trimming verges/hedges,
• Rolling of greens,
• Hand watering and all cultural practices associated to a golf course,
• Operating a weed eater, flymo, blower and push mower,
• Sod work,
• Perform any other reasonable task as requested.

Duties include, but are not limited to: 

• Providing various forms of specialised hands, feet and nail treatments to guests and members;
• Providing homecare advice and retailing health and beauty merchandise;
• Performing reception duties when required, (Including making bookings, appointment reminder calls, reverting to emails and follow up requests. Assist all guests for check in and out;
• Encourage the return of clients of the SPA;
• Perform thorough consultations with every guest to obtain and update client personal details, medical records, current homecare, and obtain their main concerns to focus on and customise treatment accordingly;
• Transfer and update all client data on the clients profile in the system & perform follow-up courtesy calls;
• Cash up at the end of the shift, when required;
• Upsell products and treatments to increase profitability;
• Guest Orientations.
